One more thing I thought of - if he travels as much as he says he does he should have a preferred travel status (like American Platinum). If the airline doesn't help a person like that, they are truly being stupid.
I was platinum for two or three years when I was traveling every other week for business. They took care of me every time I needed it and sometimes before I had a chance to call them.

Okay - 400 Bad Request errors can have a lot of causes.
Nginx is a high performance web server - able to handle thousands of connections simultaneously. Lots of features etc.
The SSL certificate error is a clue that there is a broken certificate in one or more systems handling your web request. It might be expired or not trusted by a system between yours & the data requested for the page you want.
Generally must be fixed on the server.

Being retired for 8 years now - I can't really comment about job openings for software engineers any more.
I did a quick look at my former workplace (Aurora CO) - they only have one job opening for a "cloud" software engineer and only 14 jobs total (out of over 2k employees). Perhaps in between new contracts - can't tell from the outside.
My oldest son has been working on a web site with a buddy instead of looking for work for a couple years now. Not sure he knows his forward path.

There are plenty of closed source jobs out there. Apple and Microsoft still sell operating systems and applications despite a strong Linux platform and open source applications. Plus niche products like tax software where you have a handful of closed source programs like TurboTax that make lots of $$ each year.
What I can't tell yet is how AI is really going to affect those jobs long term. The lack of good and robust logic and state handling under AI is an unresolved issue.

- young teens like me
- Mexican families
There would be ads in the paper - show up at X/Y intersection at ZZ time and the bus would take you to the farm. Maybe a 20-30 minute bus ride, work for hours & return.
I picked beans one summer. At a penny a pound I made few buck in a day. The Mexican family nearby made 10s of bucks - they were FAST!

Local TV news had some guy on in CO who tracked his mileage based on what kind of gas he bought (regular, mid grade, or premium). Premium got the best mileage, mid grade in the middle, and regular the least. About a dime more right now for mid grade - might be worth it for the better mileage.

Yum. Pretty amazing the meals you prepare in that truck.
I had pan fried garlic shrimp with vegetables for dinner tonight (no pictures). That might be possible for you (microwave the frozen vegetables, stove top for the shrimp) - if you had a pre planned spice pack (garlic, red pepper flakes, and parsley) but is really messy to eat - must have a napkin to throw away.

Think of the CPU in your phone, network gear, or portable device - the only "cooling" is passive through the case.
The MacBook I just retired would usually run w/o a fan - the fan would come on with several minutes of full CPU use (like some AI task).

When our office was in Los Angeles and the HQ was in Minneapolis (Honeywell), we had a 100 degree club. I never had that much but certainly over 80 degrees change from board to disembark.
I also had a work friend who got to Minneapolis and the rental company apologized that they couldn't start his rental car. Paid for taxi fare from airport to hotel and back.
I had one arrival where the jet bridge froze - took an hour before we got off the plane.

Okay, that might be crazy for FL but those are rookie numbers for the US.
At KBKF near Denver it was 52F 48 hours ago and 13F right now. I did my daily walk in the mall instead of outdoors.
University of Nebraska has a story with extreme weather in 2017. One place had over 120F difference between the highest high and lowest low in that year. Another had a 50F change within 24 hours.

Hmm. One of the patios next to the ski runs at the Beaver Run resort. I don't think I've ever seen music etc. before.
I stayed at the resort with my son's family once - a few days before Thanksgiving. The adjacent restaurant wasn't even open despite the ski area being open. We just wanted a hot breakfast and had to make do with a few items bought at a store / coffee shop inside the main building.

Even Steve Gibson (GRC) had to make changes to his email setup to get rid of false spam hits.
Something to do with certifying only one (or a few) servers could send email on behalf of GRC. Then setting a flag that said it was a mandatory check & not optional.

Got off the phone with Citibank - apparently some bad guys tried to take over my 30yo credit card. Somehow they changed the
- phone
- email
- home address
and got a replacement card mailed to the new address.
The app showed a fraud alert on the card but I got NO other notice about a week ago. Thankfully a letter from Citi arrived with a confirmation number on it to my home and after an hour got that card cancelled and a new one coming to my home.
Not sure how they changed my info....

I got something nasty too. Only 3-1/2 hours of sleep last night according to my FitBit. No fever. SpO2 was fine.
For the nose I use a saline nasal spray. Put 3 to 6 squirts up each nose cleared me all day today.
I'm trying to avoid an expectorant. Letting my body cough it out. Taking my daily medicines.
Going to bed early tonight to recover the missing sleep.

Agreed. I thought the FCC was "forcing" the change in part to free up spectrum by shutting down the ATSC 1 channels.
As I understand the encryption process the decryption keys are sent out every few days by Internet. So you need a periodic Internet connection to the box to get the keys. Part of the certification process is to show the keys can't be extracted.

First - doesn't support up to 4K broadcasts. I'm still using an HD (not 4K) TV so that doesn't matter.
Second - with encryption and strict controls of the receiver allows a bunch of other "features" (enshittification) for the broadcaster.

Yeah - plus too many vendors like TiVo have decided that ATSC 3.0 is too hard to implement properly. I ask customer support every year or so - still no forecast date for ATSC 3.0 support.

Debian has certainly been a sound distribution for many years. I will point out this

I used RedHat back in the day. That has its own issues as I understand it. Fedora might be a bit too bleeding edge.
