Tool use allowed humanity to lose a lot of their muscularity. Swords, knives, spears, primarily knives and spears, bows, firearms, having more muscle isn't a detriment necessarily but at a certain point having more bodies to throw at an enemy becomes a better strategy than optimizing individual martial fitness

I know testosterone in humans does lead to becoming more aware, or rather protective, of one's status so the above video tracks well enough

Wonder how much testosterone helps in the ability to deal with stress in the forms of isolation. Read something that suggested NE asians may have more testosterone than both blacks and whites but are less sensitive to it in regions outside of the brain, the author speculating this is the source of their greater spatial IQ but also helped mitigate against the stress of decreased levels of vitamin D and social isolation. I don't fully understand his reasoning

Following along with giving rats baby teeth, japs allegedly have a tradition of throwing baby lower teeth on their roofs in the hopes of the new tooth growing straight. This is because the new teeth will be attracted to the one on the roof. If someone did that and did anything but stand up or sit down, stay in the home, or really be anywhere but directly under where the tooth is now located, it'll grow sideways

A lot of mentions of soul seem to boil down to either having a consistent and charming style or a the focus of leaving a lasting impression on a particular person, as in with literal inanimate objects. Names impress a soul

For whatever reasons players who have a good understanding of how to manipulate distance can beat me without much trouble. It's really annoying since I rely on momentum a lot, not worrying about precision but instead keeping the pressure, and finely tuning my movements to account for variations in distance isn't something I'm use to.

>Free will almost contradicts itself in that you are meant to be separate from the causes and effects of your decision, yet inherent to the idea is things could be different under the right circumstances Do you mean that free will is still a part of the process of cause and effect, not entirely separated, despite how it’s supposed to be something above or entirely independent from it? The mind can create future possible worlds, see different possibilities and make a selection from there, the material of the world and its laws are still there and we act more like a droplet into a turbulent ocean is how I view this.
It’s very interesting to me how you don’t associate rigidity with something undesirable despite still wanting some sort of freedom, however forced. Usually people want to break away from the constraints of reality wholesale in some way. In the Japanese this Fatalism is expressed in either suicide or some erotic and fetishistic release, or a mixture of the two as expressed in lovers suicide. I’m half sure the Japanese interest in incest comes from this, but I’ve not read enough of non-anime/LN Japanese literature for this to be anything but a guess. I’m saying this just to draw a parallel, even if it’s comparing the heroic courage of the Norse with sexual depravity, there’s still a similarity in how both views of Fatalism don’t center on the acceptance of it.
I think the commonality between the idea of Free Will, of ultimate freedom of choice outside of the material circumstance we are subjected to, and the common person’s dislike for rigidity and social rules is the franchisement that comes from facing a reality that places someone as the center of his own path. That this desire keeps popping up despite everything in seemingly cyclical fashions speak more to human nature, as far as I can speculate I mean.
I’m probably just restating the obvious.

The only thing I can think of is that this is an analogy of the way breaking restrictions and boundaries naturally leads to the complete destruction of everything natural and orderly, in a similar way to how the destruction of a cell's membrane leads to the cessation of life. Wanting order while also wanting a bit of chance and luck feels like a very civilized thing, despite how it's been visualized here

>Hope is the saliva coming from the wolf that will in the future destroy the world
These sorts of poetic visualizations that seem to want what's seen in the implications, of a wolf shackled and its attempts to break through the chains that binds its own fate which then results in a kind of frothing of the mouth, are beautiful. But also that's a brutal way of seeing hope

I don't think history as a measurement of timekeeping is a coherent concept since humans are imperfect timekeepers. In the same vein, our concept and experience of time is something separate from the literal motion of the universe as it expresses itself on earth in seasonal and day/night cycles. There's an aspect of forgetfulness that I don't think the universe itself experiences, that's the most important difference if I were to guess

2023-08-06 22:04:54 UTC

"How deep can the symbolism known as language go?" naturally hides within it the intention of reaching the deepest reaches of thought. The problem is that language is a wave rider, the actual substance of thought is never in itself verbal, so anything that seeks to define itself by the language used is entirely delusional

I mean, I get it, but I think you're leaning too far into "men are useless (to other men?) and the utilitarian purpose of their existence is to inseminate women" thing. There are irrational parts of our existence that can't be dusted off as mere conceits, especially if those irrationalities are used by the mechanism of genetic transfer anyway

Most men I've been interacting with lately are supportive of other men as long as the man in question has enough energy to invest into self-improvement. I don't know where you've got your ideas from but humans aren't emotionless machines, to the contrary our passions are what motivates into supportive roles

I read "The Noble Greeks" by Robertson Davies and I'm wondering how anyone can live without finding some meaning/expression within religion and art, what sort of mindset leads to the mental and physical butchering of man into neatly compartmentalized slots?

Notice how the article likes to focus on the dichotomous aspect of a child being erotic yet innocent, it's not just that it's an immature human but that it's also supposed to be a representation of purity. Jews love to take what's commonly perceived as one thing and draw out the ugly side of it, and if none inherently exists then to contort the context until it's turned ugly. It's a natural showcase of their perversion.
Drag is a joke in comparison, and the worst aspects of it lies with its possible corruption of children. Otherwise it's a freak who like to flaunt its ugliness proudly.
