Short version of a long story is that 5 months ago I had a stroke which interrupted my Nostr work. I’m kinda just getting back to it now.
One issue with the relay seems to be payment. I’m in NY, so can’t use what most relay owners use (ZBD). I thought I had another solution working, but need to test it more.
Feel free to hit me up with specific questions/problems.

Just wait until they get the call from NCMEC saying they have CSAM on their relay…
Text-based CSAM isn’t really a thing. But binary files just invite it.
NCMEC had 32 million reports last year. Relay operators need to keep their heads down on this one unless they love the Justice Department up their ass!

Kind 30064 is NIP-95 files. Given that I run an explicitly sex and porn-friendly relay I don’t want to run the risk of actually hosting child porn.

Here's a bill that's been introduced in Texas that could impact people hosting Nostr relays and clients…

"A bill introduced in the Texas House of Representatives would create civil liability for obscenity offenses by any defendant, including any 'information content provider' or 'interactive computer service', that either 'engages in the obscenity or knowingly or intentionally benefits from participating in an entity that engages in the obscenity.'"
"The bill also holds an 'information content provider or interactive computer service' liable for damages 'arising from the distribution, transmission, or display of harmful material to a minor if, knowing the character and content of the material, the provider or service knowingly or intentionally benefits from participating' in disseminating the 'harmful material' by 'facilitating, aiding, encouraging, or contributing to' the dissemination 'in a manner that: (1) is readily accessible to minors; or (2) includes a minor’s visual image, audio voice, or participation in any manner.'"
Notice they've covered by Nostr clients and relays. And I doubt "I didn't look at the Kind 1984 events" will be a viable defense…
