It's interesting seeing people on Reddit posting about getting fake silver bars from large, reputable dealers, what they should do/how to proceed. Don't have to worry about any of that with Bitcoin, as my node is verifying all of my Bitcoin is real and in cold storage. 🤷‍♂️ #Bitcoin #PlebChain

The recent episode of Coin Stories with Lyn Alden is a weird one. @nprofile…hrff says she got into Bitcoin in 2017, but has near zero conviction and seems so worried about the price. I find this odd as she has been through 2 bear markets but isn't really acting like it? Idk man I'm just a pleb stacking but this was such a weird take for her. Maybe she invested more than she could afford to lose during the recent bull run? Ive been here since '16 and just buying the dip as usual 🤷‍♂️idk how you can watch the price fall to 2k then 16k historically and be worried about 60k.

Gm Nostr! Made a double espresso this morning, got a busy Friday!
Since we are now in mid Jan, I was able to crunch my home heating numbers to see how much, if any cost savings I had from my Bitcoin miner. Here are the results:
Propane use: down 50%
⚡ sats stacked: 72,000
By cutting my propane in half I saved approx $450 in my propane bill (they haven't filled yet this winter because I haven't used enough 🙌) if I can make it without an auto fill all winter, it'll pay for the cost of the miner.
So thrilled with these results!

Still use strike, but the reporting change has made keeping track of buys and sells a pita. Any way to get the customizable reports back? I've got a spreadsheet to track buys across multiple exchanges I use, easiest one to import the report to excel wins, and is the most used. Was strike for the last 3 years. The new reporting changes have me contemplating using River for DCA because after the changes at strike I have to manually change and edit a lot of fields.

Good point! I've got my Umbrel instance running on my proxmox server, so I figured the one click install would be worth a try. My CCQ is my main cold storage, but the Jade is good and portable.

There's an app for it in the Umbrel store. It looks like I've gotten my terminology mixed up! The Oracle won't let me do QR pin unlock 😂. I just unlock and use nunchuk anyway, wish you could unlock the Jade via nunchuk.

Good afternoon Nostr! The ice/snow from a few weeks back broke a tree branch on my property. I was able to use my truck to pull the broken limb down + chop it up with the chain saw today. First time using the chain saw was fun. Also stacked some sats buying the tow rope today @ Home Depot with my fold card 👍🏼. Gm Nostr!! Got some updates regarding my Bitcoin miner I received from @rev.hodl .
Yesterday I connected my Bitcoin miner to Home Assistant. Now I’m able to truly have it perform like a space heater 🙌🏼.
Since my house is small, the heat does make it throughout the whole house raising the temp 2 degrees after approx 2.5 hours.
Pretty neat, haven’t had to use the furnace yet this year. I’ll keep this post updated with whatever outside temp is too cold for it to keep up with.

I also have a Hamilton, I wear it often, really like it. Great choice for a first watch! Yes, it is definitely a slippery slope. If you set sats aside for it, you’ll end up getting it for cheaper than it is today 😊. Was able to snag my speedmaster for like $75 this way. Just gotta be patient 🙏.
