Mangadang umaga! I'm bored haha, stuff on the BBS is pretty much finished so that was a fun project. It's up and running steadily, we've got 18 accounts on there now, a few of them are pretty active which is cool.
I really want to start up a new project, I'm just not sure what I want to do... usually I have a need for something, and that is what drives creativity but I'm in a bit of a lull right now where I don't really have anything going on so I'm poking around to find something to turn into work haha.

What's up BCHNostr? For those of you who remember me from way back when, I used to share a music album that I liked every Friday (I know I know, it's already Saturday for most of you - but cut me some slack, I'm in the West, and it's still Friday here 😂 )
Here's the current album I've been really enjoying: 割り勘 (warikan)'s self-titled album. It's a bit tricky to find if you just google it, since 割り勘 also refers to splitting a bill at a restaurant, so most of what you'll find is stuff about that.
Anyway, it's a pretty good indie album that's a bit hard to put into a genre... It's kinda all over the place - punk rock, rock, indie rock, I dunno. It's good all the way through, though! Enjoy :D

And in other news, what I thought was bad RAM might actually be a bad CPU or Motherboard... I suppose that's cheaper than RAM but probably not by much lol. Ran both sticks through memtest individually, both failed. Tried clocking them down to DDR4-800. Still failed. Yay me!
If people could maybe stop using AI so much so all these data centres fail and we can go back to having affordable hardware, that would be great 🙃😭

Sorry I've been so quiet! I've been so busy with projects lately... In the past week I did a bunch of cleaning up of my digital media library, it was a mess of bad metadata and duplicated files. Then I set up a digital book library that I can hit up on the go thanks to Kavita.
Calibre is good for pushing stuff to eReaders, but I *hate* the way it manages libraries. I've figured out the best action is to just use Calibre's tools to edit metadata via the commandline, then use Kavita for a proper way to host the books themselves.

Hey old friend! There's not a whole lot to do right now, but it's a BBS so kind of a remnant of the internet before it was what it is today. Back in the 80s and 90s you'd actually dial into computers directly, and this was the sort of thing they would serve.
A lot of piracy happened on them - it was kinda the original file-sharing system. There was also a lot of creativity too, though. Those menus and art are fun to make, but quite tricky.

LOL it was a pretty old card, I'm not even sure what all I'd used it for previously. Only one of the 6 are all that active - he goes in to play Legend of the Red Dragon every day. I gotta start playing the games on there too hahaha - been spending all my time tinkering and setting things up.

I only shared it with a few groups of friends, but I'm surprised the signed up at all. I hate the direction that the internet is going and the BBS scene never really died out. It's nowhere near what it was, but it's still out there. I'd love to see them really take off and find ways to be properly secure.

BBS died on me... I was using an old SD Card and it decided it was time to fail... but thankfully I had my working directory backed up, so it was pretty painless syncing it back and getting everything online again. :D Don't remember if I shared a screenshot of the webui, but it's coming along nicely too... not sure anybody would really use it though. Not even sure how many people will end up hitting the telnet side of it either tbh lol I'm surprised that I've hit 6 people that aren't me on there.

After much struggling, I finally got Usurper working on the BBS :D Turns out there was a way more modern release with Linux executables... One step closer to getting this thing properly released :D Next up LoRD and Tradewars!
