it's a desktop environment (DE). it's the K DE. nearly every program made with its development kit has a name that starts with k. why? idk.
you can't change it in Windows, so it might be a very unfamiliar idea. it's what sets up your desktop with a task bar, window decorations, system tray, etc that you expect to see, but you can change it in any way you like, and even change DE to a different program if you like. KDE is "recommended for beginners" but it's really memory-heavy for no good reason, and other DEs exist which do the same things just as well in far less resources. Gnome is the other most popular DE for linux. i prefer Cinnamon, or MATE, both of which are forks of Gnome 2, which preserves that Win95 feel instead of the modern "locked down af, rounded corners on everything" feel of Gnome 3.

Canada Post is, fundamentally, a very abusive corporation toward its workers.
the last two strikes have involved extremely bad faith claims that striking workers caused Canada Post to have a dip in profits and use that as an excuse to roll back what Canada Post fundamentally does, which is delivering mail. it's easy to point at the numbers and say "see, the strike caused a loss in profits", until you know what Canada Post did to drag out the strike and cause its own loss of profits.
my grandmother's identity was stolen because of those shitty fucking "community mailboxes". hers was only across the street, but do you expect an elder in their 90s, who has scoliosis and uses mobility to devices to walk, is going to be safe walking across an icy road in the middle of winter? i've seen snowbanks piled up around them so no one could access them. junk mail piles up around them cause no one wants to carry that shit home.

yes, it is important to tell the difference between *these* labels, but that is not the same as understanding socialism, communism, and anarchy as different things. ie it's extremely crucial to educate people about what communism is and is *not*.
i would not include MLM as genuine communists, only as an example of people calling themselves communist in bad faith. the same thing Hitler did.
re: ownership, yes we do need to change how we think about who things belong to and how they belong. it doesn't seem to mean much to abolish private ownership and re-open the commons only to then turn around and say "we're the owners now".

Ariel Troster is busy finding out why snow removal is so disorganised and Centretown gets it last. some parts of the city get nothing really, like Findlay Creek. it was a nightmare living there in the winter of 2018/19, when there was so much snow and melting that the roads were covered in two inches of ice all winter and no salt trucks ever came out that far.
