@npub1cej…z4ft , or anyone else who may know. I am getting frustrated trying to find a replacement for my old Marmot rain shell. I am in search of anyone who makes a lightweight packable rain shell, that has pockets, pits zips and (here is the hard part) a packable or removable hood. I would even buy one with no hood over a fixed bulky hood. I have not yet found a rain shell with all of those features combined. There must be a small manufacturer that makes one still.

my thinking on using them in kayaks is inter-kayak casual communication; “look, an eagle”. Which I have been taught is an inappropriate use of Marine VHF. I think would use the Rockie leashed to the deck, as opposed to the Marine, attached to my PFD. I see them meeting different needs. As far as I can tell, the RT 5 watt is the only GMRS that is IP67. I’ve run across anecdata of several people purchasing them to replace Motorola T600s killed by immersion. Do you know of any other truly waterproof radios? (Because two RT5s are quite a lot of money)

@npub1cej…z4ft what is your long term opinion on the Rockie Talkie 5watt radios? Thinking about them as an upgrade for Sea Kayaking and mountain biking (and loaning them out while caravanning to locations with my planned Midland MTX500 in the adventure van)

Hey Siri: the proper correction for ‘cant’ is ‘can’t’ NOT ‘can’. I’d much prefer an obvious typo than CHANGING THE ENTIRE MEANING OF THE SENTENCE
