The idea that multisig wallets are created by importing xpubs (Zpubs) to a hot online computer and building the wallet descriptor there - is absurd.
That computer can manipulate the xpubs of some of the signers, add another xpub inside the QR code that doesn't appear in text form, change the number of required signers, etc. Most users won't notice the difference on their small hw wallet display, and won't verify a receive-address on all wallets (i.e. hacker can replace one of the xpubs with his own, and could fool you into sending funds to an address where they are a co-signer).
The wallet descriptors should be generated on the hardware wallets themselves, with clear instructions how to verify them on all other hw wallets.

Bitcoin Plebs: Coldcard really fucked up. I want a simple way to store my Bitcoin using a multi-vendor setup that requires approval from two different hardware wallets - especially for the stash I'm not planning to touch for the next 10 years.
Bitcoin Devs: You should use a 4-of-5 multisig where one of the keys is held by a third party, with a Miniscript decaying timelock that switches to a 2-of-5 policy after six months. Just remember to rotate the UTXOs every ~5 months. Oh, and use Taproot to obfuscate the full vault mechanism - most hardware wallets already support it.
AND DON'T FORGET TO BACK UP THE DESCRIPTOR. YOUR FAMILY WILL NEED IT IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO YOU!

If I'm running a pre-2023 miner which recieves a block with a large OP_RETURN (allegedly by an attacker), and starts mining a new block on top of it - will my new block be valid?
No, because I did not update my miner's code.
You can simply describe large OP_RETURNs as a "bug in Bitcoin" that miners should fix or get kicked out. There's no need for confusing language.

Weird Discovery:
I was working on my https://bitcoinflow.niot.space explorer and wanted to add an example for a Coinbase transaction.
I found this recent article about the lucky solo-miner of block 943411: https://bitcoinfoundation.org/news/bitcoin/solo-miner-one-block
It had a link to a previous lucky solo-miner, a week earlier, of block 938092, which I also loaded to the explorer.
Then I noticed that their second output goes to the same transaction! Which has another "solo-miner" input from less than a week later.
Look at inputs 1-3 of the following tx: https://mempool.space/tx/bd0c2d021bc9408948569fb8b02340a1adc4db7f196fcde3f2b694286085f2f6
They all come from a "solo-miner".
The odds that the same solo-miner found 3 blocks within 2 weeks are astronomically low, right?
So it's either not really a solo-miner, or different solo-miners that for some reason decided to give some of their profit to the same entity.
Or I'm missing something?

Holesail-Switchboard lets you open P2P #lightning channels on #Umbrel without a public IP address and without relying on unreliable Tor. Follow these steps:
1. On both Umbrel nodes, install: one of Bitcoin node apps (tested with Core), one of the Lightning apps (tested with LND) and the Holesail-Switchboard app: https://apps.umbrel.com/app/holesail-switchboard
2. On the channel-destination node, open Holesail-Switchboard and click Add Server with Host: "lightning_lnd_1" and Port: "9735". Do not enable the Secure checkbox (This option is designed for hiding both ends of the connection using a symmetric key. In this case, you want a public key so others can reach your node). This will generate an "hs://0000..." connection URL that others can use to connect to you.
3. On the same node, open the Lightning app, click the 3 dots in the top-right corner, and select Node ID. Under the Tor network section, you will see: "<lightning-public-key>@<address>.onion:9735". We do not need the ".onion" address, but we do need the "lightning-public-key" part, which identifies your Lightning node.
4. On the channel-source node, open Holesail-Switchboard and click the ✏️ icon on one of the clients. Paste the "hs://..." connection URL and note the assigned local port (for example: "3161").
5. Finally, in the Lightning app, open a channel using: "<lightning-public-key>@10.21.0.20:<local-port>". Example: "03abc123...@10.21.0.20:3161" (the 10.21.0.20 ip belongs to the Holesail-Switchboard app - I've tried different local hostnames but it didn't work for me).
That's it! You now have a lightning channel that uses #holepunch technology, doesn't rely on a static public ip address, and much more stable than #TOR.

Finally, it's easy to open your home @nprofile…27xq machine to remote users, without relying on slow & unstable TOR, or getting a static public ip address (and configuring port-forwarding on your routing) - using #holesail technology.
The UI allows you to open other Umbrel apps to the world by generating a hs://... URL, to which you can connect from any computer via `npx holesail --connect hs://... --host localhost`, or via the Holesail-Go smartphone app.
The UI also runs as a client, and lets you redirect connections to umbrel.local:<port> to a remote hs://... URL.
I want to do an experiment and open the first lightning channel via holesail, between two #umbrel machines which are both behind a home router (NAT). Who wants to join?
(P.S. don't ask me how holesail works behind the scenes, I only wrapped it with UI and published to the Umbrel app store)

Iron Dome does not provide complete protection, and more importantly, the attacks still trigger sirens that send an entire country into shelters. If I were the Iranian regime, I would focus on cheap weapons designed simply to activate the sirens for as long as possible, just to paralyze the economy. The fact that the Tel Aviv stock market is going up is something of a miracle.

Correct me if I'm wrong: When I enter my region's channel and post a message, it is published only with a single hashtag, right?
This doesn't make sense if I'm located near a border of a geohash block - my neighbor across the street might miss the message unless they "teleport".
I think every message should be published with 9 geohashes - the one I'm currently in plus the 8 geohashes around it (North-West, North, North-East, West, East, South-West, South, South-East).
Also when I enter my region's channel, I should see messages from those neighboring regions (maybe with some UI icon explaining that some people you are seeing on the channel might not see that message).

Rest in peace, my beloved cat 😿
I cannot put into words how clever and sensitive she was.
She survived more than ten years on the street, living off scraps from a nearby coffee shop. When the COVID lockdowns forced it to close, I brought her in. At first only at night - she would wait for me by the building entrance every evening and walk upstairs with me. Eventually, she became fully part of my home, and moved two apartments with me.
She was incredibly smart and street-wise, one of those rare cats who would look you straight in the eyes. Yet she was also gentle and loving.

They hate you because Islam is a viking-like missionary religion. It has nothing to do with what you did or did not do. Search for "Dar al-Harb" and "Dar al-Islam". The best we can do is promote separation of church/mosque and state, so the religious texts won't convert into political actions.
Democratically elected government? When? A government that oppresses free-speach and throws women to prison for not covering their hair is not democratic in any way, it's a majority tyranny.
Latin America is a totally different story. I know very little about latin America so I won't comment on that - but it's a completely different fight. Don't confuse the two.

I blame Netflix and all the modern action-drama TV shows with a plot-twist where the bad guy turns out not to be the main bad guy - who is actually some insider that appeared to be a good guy for most of the show.
Sometimes the person who screams "Death to <Your-Country>" is just being honest and really is the main bad guy.
