Overview of file systems on #OpenBSD and #NetBSD and mutual accessibility.
FFS (in kernel)
OpenBSD - v1+2, no journaling, no softdeps, OpenBSD does not recognized NetBSD's FFS
NetBSD - v1+2+2ea, has journaling and softdep, recognizes OpenBSD's FFS (but can mount only in ro mode)
Ext2/3/4 (in kernel)
OpenBSD - can create and mount ext2 in rw mode, ext3/4 mounted in ro mode (ext4 has to be 32bit)
NetBSD - same as above
FAT32 (in kernel)
OpenBSD - works flawlessly, file size limit: 4GB - 1B
NetBSD - ditto
ZFS (in kernel)
OpenBSD - no
NetBSD - yes, allows for root on ZFS if boot partition is FFS
NTFS (in kernel)
OpenBSD - mounts in ro mode, works well
NetBSD - theoretically allows for ro mounting, but I was not able to achieve that :(
See ntfs-3g for rw mounting
Honorable mention - exFA(r)T (as FUSE) - can be recognized as NTFS, use mount.exfat, slow
Wanna transfer data from OpenBSD to NetBSD? Mount FFS in ro mode and siphon data off.
Wanna transfer data from NetBSD to OpenBSD? newfs_msdos is the answer or use exFAT/NTFS+ntfs-3g if you are patient.
Minor tip for those using FAT32 - command split(1) allows to cut tar archives into smaller parts which can be placed onto FAT partition. To merge them, use cat(1).
You probably know all that stuff.

I am aware only of using hydrogen peroxide (30%), but it has 2 big downsides: takes days to renew the plastic, might not be available for private person (depends on local law). Not used personally (I am a private person), but my chemistry knowledge and effects seen on videos tells me that it should be good.

OpenBSD has Schroedinger LLM policy - Theo said no (due to copyright issues), but there is no interest to implement that and latest opinion is "no OpenBSD dev cares about your whining regarding LLM code in the source". As for FreeBSD LLM code is already in the source, but I do not recall if there was stated any policy.

That is not correct, jails are used for software isolation, no matter what is the license. It is like better chroot (FreeBSD folks would eat me for saying that).
The most Linux-user-friendly BSD is FreeBSD/GhostBSD. The next one is NetBSD and last one is OpenBSD.

I was able to find fanless GT 710 in reasonable pricing, everything looks good,
but there are 2 things which bother me:
(1) When running glxgears I get:
libGL error: failed to open drm device: Permission denied
libGL error: failed to load driver: nouveau
but runs correctly. Last time as I was playing around with amdgpu driver and drm
devices, results were not great. Can I just skip those errors?
(2) When I run Firefox with hardware acceleration buttons and search bar do not
have rounded corners. Of course it is minor cosmetic thing, but I am wondering
if it is a matter of window manager (I use CTWM, btw) or GPU driver?

Okay, #NetBSD on main computo, attempt no 2. I was able to get 1920x1080 resolution thanks to wsfb and gop. I need to accept that fetchmail is not going to work, but I would like to ask for your help.
(1) I am looking for GPU which will work out of box and give acceleration to web browser and tetris. I am going to review bsd-hardware.info and dmesgd.nycbug.org, but if someone is aware of good card I will happily take any advise. No new cards, no big power usage, HDMI. Currently I have RX550
(2) If anyone archives e-mails on own computo, could you share what software do you use for that?

Here it is. Asus Eee PC 1005HA running #NetBSD 10.1. Desktop looks awful and that's fine, I do not need "ricing". I have changed HDD to SSD and put new fan. RAM upgraded to 2 GB which is more than I need. Runs dillo and aerc. Cost? ~40 USD.

No JavaScript is an advantage (though there are few JS-needing websites which I use and there is no simple substitution for them). Limited CSS support is acceptable, but I hope that in the future this will improve. The only thing I would wish for dillo is a set of domainrc files with bigger number of entries or finding a way to include blocklists there.

Huh, very mixed feelings. On the one side it looks nice in general, but on photos it looks like an elephant (in comparison with a hand), also being able to run 99%(tm) Android apps sounds okay. On the flip side, price is a little high (IMO) for simplified smartphone. Also, I never had a Commodore, so I do not feel *anemoia*. Dunno. If it would be PDA, I would be more interested.

I use Fujitsu Futro S900, OpenBSD + mpd, also used as additional storage as allows to add SATA disk. My version has no PCI slot, but usually there is one, with right-angle riser additional options show up.

Experiences regarding switch to #NetBSD - installation 10.1 goes okay, but AMD GPU (RX 5*0) does not work out of box. What I tried so far?
(1) Loading amdgpu and drmkms_sched kernel modules cause kernel panic.
(2) Setting up modesetting in Xorg causes "No screens found" error.
(3) Installing 11 RC4 does not go well - if I use MBR scheme then OS does not load at all, if GPT then installer fails at gpt create command.
(4) I tried to follow this guide - https://codeberg.org/blackmirroxx/netbsd_amdgpu - but I run out of space in /usr (separate partition) during compiling modular xorg.
Tomorrow I am going to install 10.1 again and follow above guide again. If it will not work, then...I do not know.
BTW OpenBSD advantage is that AMD GPU works out of box, disadvantage is "mediocre" support of non-FFS file systems.

If I would have to choose only from those two, I would choose XFCE, because it runs Chicago95 (also has more decent choice of themes) and has a little more apps integrated (at least on OpenBSD). Hardware usage is similar, general design is similar. Both of them should get more love.
Normally I use cwm or would use ctwm if I would run NetBSD.
