Microproject #4: Swarm team blossom relay with web upload client (bouquet).
basically this is relay auth access only to the pubkeys in a nostr.json , plus the bouquet upload and media mirror client tacked on, using the same domain. nice for uploading media that you can use for future posts.
Btw, I don't know if this is really a good idea or not, its really out of convenience and frustration. its too much to ask non-tech plebs to learn CLI. Volume is small enough not to need a full service, inconvenient enough to run a blossom relay to build it out myself. I might also add another web front end client to the same relay for managing notes and collaborating on drafts between team members.
If its a stupid idea just say so but I don't know of anything else that is solving my problem so i figure i might as well build it myself and improve on repos that haven't been updated in months. Or maybe refactor and make it a smoother experience.

Hi @nprofile…7z6m , I was explicitly asked by derek ross and fiatjaf to write the new Kind Number 30312 for both nests and hive and extension to NIP-53. I just want to be clear we're not "rugging" you, this was work I completed for the benefit of the community for free.
Now that nests and hive are on the same standard all you have to do is just change the number from 30311 to 30312, that was the only major change. you can also find the hive events broadcast by using nak. No need to read the source code, all the data is on the relays publically.

[ or use wss://relay.damus.io or primal or nos.lol ]

yup - we allow up to 3 rooms and 5 calendar events on this current iteration. So you can have a set time and send your friend a link for a time, event details and room.
The spec for these rooms and the associated scheduled meetings were merged into NIP-53 last week.

I had an "influencer" at a bitcoin conference tell me flat out how much she hated nostr, and preferred X where she was making 'bank in fiat' while she was promoting bitcoin. Also she insisted that I doxx myself. Good grief, sounded more like a Grifter than anything else. Short term mindset and doesn't actually understand bitcoin or protocols.

Right now, I'm trying to figure out what nips i need to make a "full" integration, and its getting a bit tricky here when the nips are constantly changing, and I'm not 100% full time into the protocol discussion cuz this isn't my full time job.
its difficult to build when the sand is constantly shifting under.
I'm okay with waiting until the dust settles and the definitions are clear, which they aren't right now. Some apps do "full" integration but they are also building the spec, which gives them the advantage to declare what is correct vs is not correct. If we're not defining the spec then its like, how do you even know what is or what isn't.
Either way I am not going to cry about it anymore. But this is something to think about as you go to FOSDEM how things are
As long as people keep the zaps coming and we cover the costs, I'll keep it going. If everyone wants to use it, GREAT!! If you don't, and I better put time elsewhere. Not going to get grants or vc, sorry. this is not how I fly for a pet project. I prefer running self-sovereign small businesses, and won't bow to an overlord.

#Pubky is Slashtags rebranded. Rebranding is never a good sign. Its the same group as the Keet guys. Fundamentally they are struggling with traction, their protocol is obtuse and difficult to build on.
I get that having a bittorrent style DHT might be useful but the latency and discoverability issue is not gonna compete with nostr websockets. And there is a solid reason why SimpleX is using websockets and unidirectional pipelines for their chat servers. It just *Works* better. Not perfect p2p networks but for the purpose of social connectivity you gotta cut some edges off.
Love the idea, but also felt like I wasted enough time looking at Keet/Kademila/Hypercore rebranded twice to Pear. Great marketing but underlying adoption will not happen at Nostr Speed.
Nostr has its problems but its strength is that weekend warriors can contribute and for a scrappy distributed protocol this is what you want. Not $10 million dollar per VC app companies that refuse to hire american citizens and don't really welcome opensource part time contributors.
You are gonna need all the hands you can get to build something anti-big tech and by removing as many complexity barriers as possible you can achieve it with max leverage, less labor and less time to generate the network effect for survival.
#Nostr Will Survive. There are enough builders who don't need a PHD to make it work. That's the #1 key factor here.
