Got the meat haul in tonight. 10 pounds of Cajun Jerky, 12 pounds of ground venison, 4-2.5 pound leg loin steaks, and 2-3pound back straps (tenderloins). Good mix of pickings to start the season. I'll end up giving away some jerky to close friends & family of course but the rest we'll eat at our house.

This is how you take initiative against miner centralization instead of just hoping they won't all collude and wipe you out.

I appreciate your comment as I know you were pro BIP110. If NGU is what you feel is paramount, you may in fact be in the right place, at least until the characteristics that ensure NGU are compromised, I believe that is the risk in SHA256. With XBT we are ensuring that those first principles that generate the NGU are going to remain in tact for generations, no compromise.

No ill will received or intended. The network that is truly Bitcoin will prevail regardless of what the masses believe. That's why I'm choosing to focus my effort in a network that I believe is reality not just more popular. Clearly we differ on that, and that's OK. Same root cause, different solutions to address it. Time will tell us what's right.

I agree with you that fixed supply flies in the face of every existing economic theory. However suggesting that it’s going to stop spending is an unjustifiable claim. Humans have infinite demand for resources including energy, materials, health services, food, water etc. therefore we will all need to spend something in exchange for those resources eventually.

Good. How do you ensure that doesn't happen in 2035?

2026-10-01 13:27:05 UTC

- reply

It doesn't, that's a fact. However it does explicitly state that Bitcoin is peer to peer electronic cash. Therefore for Bitcoin to truly be peer to peer without a 3rd party, you must retain the ability to run a node. By not running a node, you are relying on someone else to broadcast and verify your transactions. What happens when that node says f you, I'm not doing that?

2026-10-01 12:31:01 UTC

- reply

For anyone who follows the SHA256 chain and expects their kids and grandkids to be able to run their own node in the future is the definition of insanity.

2026-10-01 12:14:43 UTC

- reply

Yes you are correct, it exposed the rot. My wording could have been better than saying the fork failed. What I intended was that it failed to activate on the SHA256 chain but is now active and thriving on the Blake2b chain.
And yes I guess I was speaking metaphorically about the nodes that were a part of the Knots/BIP110 group and then carried on the Blake2b being a fraction of a percent. That could have been worded better as well. So we went from say 20,000 Knots nodes to now just about 5,000 Blake2b nodes. Honestly, that’s great. I’m impressed with how many have done the work to get there this early.
Couldn’t agree more, the energy is entirely different.

To say you believe we all exist in our own realities, and also say that you believe mine is distorted would suggest that yours is the baseline. Rather condescending no?
Independent of block size, how would you fight off a MASF at this point? Better yet, how will you defend your ability to run a node that is storing illegal content?

2026-09-30 19:19:11 UTC

- reply

Great question, something I've considered myself as well. Bitcoin is still Bitcoin without the massive hashrate, it's just a lot harder to defend and protect. That's why I believe the fully sovereign Bitcoiner is and individual who self custody's, runs a node and contributes hashrate through mining. That is what I'm seeing happen on the Blake2b chain by individuals. Yes, there have been attacks already, but they have been addressed swiftly and in the favor of maintaining first principles.
In contrasting that to Monero, yes it has a higher hashrate and market cap but it does not maintain the first principles of Bitcoin. The first being a fully auditable block chain where you can sum the UTXO and issuance to see if your coins are real, or if supply has been added. This is the biggest con with XMR. In addition, tail emissions are not a hard supply cap, and therefore not one of the first principles of Bitcoin.
XBT maintains the same UTXO set from the genesis block, fully auditable, and fixed supply. This gives it an advantage over XMR in my opinion. But it's like protecting an infant right now in a sea of sharks, a rogue miner could attempt to 51% attack the network hence why proposals for XBT mining to be DATUM exclusive are being passed around.

Feeling incredibly sentimental today for some reason, stirring through old photos of past journeys. Maybe it’s the changing season or my wife’s impending birthday this weekend. Hard to tell.
I look back with gratefulness in all the experiences we’ve had and can’t help but feel overwhelming joy. Those times have passed, and we’ve aged but the memories are etched in our hearts.
I love my wife and our greatest adventure, which is raising our kids together. My hope is that we can pass all of our earned knowledge and wisdom to them so they can see that the world is a beautiful place full of freedom, excitement & wonder.

Small project started this weekend. Needed a landing for the deck to avoid the mud so I'm adding an 8' x 12' patio at the stairs. My property slopes in multiple directions so I needed to add a mini retaining wall for the edge on one side.
This took me all day to get the ground cut, tamped, and base (with somehelpf from my boys, wife and dog of course).
I've built a 6' x 20' retaining wall elsewhere on my property before but this is my first attempt at a patio. Really trying hard to keep everything level so it looks decent in the end. Well see!

Looking at Mempool. Find it odd that there are about a dozen pending blocks and the farthest one is a stack of 36 blocks with around 60,000 transactions.
Personally I've never seen this much traffic on the base layer. Mass swaps before the BIP or spam attack on the way? Who knows what will happen these days.

Yes. I try to portray this to people who wish to increase taxes or think that people need to pay their "fair share".
I say, look you have every opportunity to pay more in taxes yourself if you love public funding so much, go ahead and send more than you owe. But guess what, participation rate on that suggestion is zero. Surprise?
Instead what they fail to recognize is they have an unnatural inclination to others' property. This can only be possible through backing and enforcement of the state using violence. Otherwise, they would have to physically fight me for it. They don't realize that would be the natural way to get "more taxes".

Politicians are just their pawns, and voting is irrelevant even in Western Democracies.
I believe this knowledge needs to be more widespread, especially on the eve of America's 250th anniversary. America is not just a country, it's an idea and belief system rooted in individual liberty and private property rights. 250 years ago, a revolution was born by a fraction of the population due to oppression that was comparatively less severe than what we are facing today.
The enemy now is more insidious, more powerful and has more control than ever. This is not the same setup as red coats across the ocean. So what can we do? The revolutionary's fought back with non-conventional warfare and despite the odds, they won. We must do the same.
If on July 4th, 2026 we united as a nation of individuals and took our income tax withholding to zero, stopped paying mortgages, loans and credit cards, and began using Bitcoin independent of the system for the things we need, we could do some serious damage. If all 330M Americans could unite for once and finally address the root of our problems, this could be our most effective way to battle the FIC-MIC-TIC where it hits them the most. Our votes don't count, our money is a joke, and our thoughts are curated. So we must abstain from their systems, or else become further controlled by them.
Who would join me? And if you're not prepared (which we aren't) what steps are you taking to get in a position to do this in the next decade? I believe this is the fight of our generation, a fight we must win if we want to be free for the next 250 years.

Yes. We need to be working on this. I would also add a Homestead producing protein, fruits and vegetables. Ample ammunition in NATO calibers, hundreds of spare magazines and high quality firearms. It wouldn't hurt to have a library and study the Bible as well (just my flavor, you do what you want).

I think a tactic to orange pill Normie's would be telling them to prepare for $100 for a gallon of milk or loaf of bread. Or $50/pound ground beef, electricity at $2/kWh etc.
These are all prices we know will happen eventually. They sound crazy but they will become normal in time. The key is right now you have a choice to either prepare by stacking Bitcoin or suffer by using fiat.
Most will wait until the pain is so severe they have no choice but swallow the pill. Just a thought.

I wrote this irresponsibly fast with my Clanker this afternoon. Borderline AI slop, but the message is very true. I've been wanting to write and create content for young men to help attract their attention away from nonsense, and into truth. This is a foray into that. It's not perfect, but if I never start, I'll never get anywhere or improve.
Massive assumptions being made. However, I feel that this information would have had the power to change my life at a younger age. I'm making up for that now. My hope is that perhaps it will change someone else's life for the better. Please critique and share.

GM Nostr. I need some AI knowledge from you if you could please read my use case, and see if it makes sense.
I am trying to build agents for a legacy business that is highly adverse to using AI due to privacy concerns etc. However, I believe I can integrate AI without exposing any critical information outside of their network. This is how I propose I pull that off. (I've also tested this with Openclaw and have a production ready version that appears to work fine).
Essentially I need to take sales information (with sensitive data) and inventory information (with sensitive data) out of a database. I have no barriers to do that, but I don't want that information on a cloud server outside the network.
So here is my solution. I have SQL reports run monthly, pulling this data from the database, saving it where my Openclaw agent running Ollama can get to it. Then that Ollama agent (hosted on a local private server) masks the sensitive data using SHA-256, and saves the "key" file that maps original data to masked data locally.
Then another agent running Claude Haiku, gets the masked data, does some analysis on it that I need done automatically. Returns that analysis back to the Ollama agent, which then decrypts the output using the original mapping file.
That way no sensitive data is getting onto Claude servers. Even though I am using API keys, I would prefer to have zero data retention, no training, no exposure whatsoever hence the Ollama hashing step.
Is this sensical? Is it over engineered? Is it doing what I am describing?
There is zero tolerance for data exposure, and this was the solution that I thought could address that. I would run all of the analysis locally on Ollama but I have several workflows that need to run using the output data and need OpenClaw to manage that for me. In addition, I need some compute power hence why I am electing Claude for the "hard work". I don't know that Ollama could do everything I need it to without Openclaw, and so far I haven't got those two to play well together.
Let me know.

Peak life experience is when the kids are restless and it turns into the most epic and spontaneous dodgeball fight. My boys usually take Mom's side so its always 3 v 1. Since I get outnumbered I throw the balls as hard as I can with no remorse. I love hearing the fear and squeals as dodgeballs whiz by them and slam the wall. So many laughs and close calls. Great way to wind down before bed time!

The key is the right oil and right amount. If you have a brand new pan, coat it with the thinnest possible amount of Avocado oil, olive oil, ghee or beef tallow. Get it in a 500 degree oven until all the oil burns off and its bone dry. Repeat the process, again with a thin film of oil, wipe the pan clean with a paper towel just to leave the oil residue basically. Then let it bake again and you should be all set.
When you use the pan, wooden utensils only! Metal will wreck your seasoning. When you're done, rinse clean and wipeout with a damp towel. No soap needed, but you can if you feel inclined. Dry pan and coat with the thinnest amount of oil possible. Use over and over to get the cooking surface dialed in.

GM Nostr. Channeling all the legends on here. Frying eggs that were laid yesterday by birds just footsteps from my door. Butter from Amish country (real stuff) and cooking in cast iron.
The pan came from my wife's grandpa so who knows how many decades old it is at this point. Makes great eggs and is non stick due to the seasoning.
Most people over look a moment like this, but I know here there is a connection.

GM Nostr
I've recognized a pattern where I wake up with a slight amount of dread that I'll never escape the fiat rat race with my family. I'm not certain if this feeling will ever go away?
Regardless, I've also discovered that my actions suppress this fear as long as they are true. I continue to stack sats, learn protocols, and align my tool box with my beliefs. Every time I learn a new skill, the fear is muted.
Abundance may come, God willing. I need to ensure that I am prepared and worthy of it when it does. At the end of the day my family is happy and healthy, so perhaps it has already arrived after all.
Have a great day.
