You know what? I used to be that person who complained about everything. Critical about others’ joy. Nothing was good enough for me. Everything had to be perfect.
But I changed (at least I think I did). First step, was to let go of my binary thinking. Secondly, I realized everyone is doing their best with their unique set of problems. You can’t generalize. Lastly, realized every step counts; even the backwards ones. There’s a delicate balance between being and doing; yet you can’t ignore either of them.
Here’s my wish for the world - anyone can change, if they try. You just have to keep wanting to be a good, yet flawed human 💕

I had couple of friends who moved from California to Tennessee. One of them started transitioning afterwards. Sometimes I think about them; how they are in this current environment. Since I am south Asian I have 4 types of rice and 6 types of lentils and bean in my pantry. I’ll just mix and match for maximum flavor. I also have Indian mango pickle, and kimchi. Also made a quick pickle with shredded radishes and dill pickle. I think we’re good 😊

This is such a good point! I remember at some point of my young adult life, I was often guided towards non-fiction for productivity and such. But pretty soon it sucked out all the joys I had regarding reading. I’m very glad/lucky I went back to reading fictions. It has made my life so much more happy and rich

Every time I read about some Bangladeshi food blog where they boil it down to just a Muslim country, I get so mad. Bangladesh is so much more than just a Muslim country, and Bengali culture is so complex with elements from all the religions, it’s actually beautiful if think hard about it. Let me put it this way, if I was still living in Bangladesh, my parents would’ve manipulated my life; I’d still be the mousy girl I was as 8 years old, terrified of everything and everyone; I’d be probably had 2-3 kids by now, because our families would have pressured us; I’d never get the proper care I needed for my chronic conditions.
