I managed my paddling fine this morning , and came home to smell a neighbour using scented products for their laundry... and that I can feel in my throat... sigh.... keeping windows closed.

Looking at options to share this #mondayMorning and came across this old screen shot when I was trying to determine the generational monikers of my students...
I love that Generation X < raises hand> was also called "BabyBust" - just makes me chuckle...
Most of my students are Gen Z, with a few Millennials for that "mature student" ranking...
And I think a few are whatever comes after Gen Z... what comes next for those folk born 2011 onwards?

This week I'll be cutting out a dress and jacket, co-designed with the Mom of Groom, using the #satin #jacquard from her mother's #wedding dress and some lilac #silk her son - the groom - brought her years ago from a trip to Thailand.
So, #upcycling at it's best, reusing every morsel of this lovely ivory - and she's going to dye it to complement the lilac! And while it travelled the world, at this stage, it's become #deadstock as it is at least 5 years waiting to be made into something...
I'm cutting the pieces and handing them off to her to dye, then I'll get them back to begin the assembly...

Introduction:
I’m an Ottawa based sewist and designer, specializing in custom bridal and evening wear but really enjoy the process of bringing someone’s ideas to life in fabric.
I also tailor, upcycle and redesign existing garments, of all sorts and enjoy a good cosplay!
I’ll post pics and videos of my work when it won’t ruin the surprise for my clients, as well as the occasional sharing of techniques.
