You have somehow conflated the idea that any problem that may arise in your personal life is your fault with the idea that no matter the cause, there's nearly always something to be done on an individual level to help your own condition and those around you. These two things are distinct. Being a victim != having a victim mentality.

I don't believe it's politics that creates the kind of ressentiment you often find from a large subset of radicals. It's that most people don't really believe in what they say; it's just convenient for them. It's an entire philosophy of negation, no ideals, only enemies, those enemies being... I don't know, society? The bourgeois? Jews? Globalists? Something or another. Having spoken to many fascists, communists, Islamists, etc, this is something I find commong among them. They're practically school shooters in this regard. A trifling, blind manifestation of 'revenge' against a society they feel wronged them one way or another. Unable to create anything meaningful or of note, and so destruction's their entire purpose. Human negative space, a chalk silhouette where a human is supposed to be.

A large amount of halfwits are unable to separate society from ideas in their lonesome. "Christians/Muslims/atheists are degenerate" is a statement separate from "Christianity/islam/atheism is degenerate", conflating the two is a category error. Even with the idea that its believers reflect the faith, they forget human behavior is probabilistic and messy, while ideas are definable and attackable.

I'd given it the name "hyper-micro-collectivism" when I wrote about it in the past; the individual's given a choice which herd makes them feel most at ease before burying their choice in it. It's that resignation of individuality because it is, in their minds, malignant towards their personal, individual end.

It was a friend of mine, a long-time reader of yours in fact, that actually made me reconsider a lot of my own assumptions in that particular regard. I'd been a moral idealist for a good bit, who believed in a highly rigid and predetermined moral hierarchy, as opposed to the probabilistic, complex, context-dependent, and heuristic hierarchy that actually exists in nature and subsequently in humanity.

Leftism is social usury. Pinkos, having weaseled their way into academia, law, and journalism (pretty much nearly worldwide at this point), have more or less tried to institute an egalitarian bias where the social contract and equilibrium is disturbed in favor of the more 'oppressed' party. The problem is that you could abolish this and that, it's not like it'll fade from people's minds, and that contract on the 'privileged' end hasn't changed. It's solely the rights and obligations of those 'without privilege' that have. In short, the 'privileged' continue to pay interest to a bank that's went bust in the 1960s.

I mentioned in my linguistics post that I believe that linguistics is on the natural side generally, this has a good bit to do with this. Humans are born with certain priors and abilities, how those priors play out depends on the environment/ecology. Human cognition is symbolic at its core, scaffolded by stimulus and experience, I believe.
I'm of the opinion that religion, in some manner, is the human drive to build a coherent worldview of different extrapolations and experiences, with the limits of human cognition in mind. But I do believe those extrapolations and experiences to not be invented, rather discovered. There's not much difference between "IF you walk in that bush, THEN there's a good chance a bear will eat you" and "IF you do well towards others and worship God, THEN He will help you."

That's understandable, tbh, though I do try to consistently question my priors. My opinions on humanity have changed a lot, there was a time where I believed human beings were destined to evil, seeing pedophiles, murderers, etc, but nowadays I realize that the minority of humans scream. It honestly distastes me to read something like "X group is generally Y." Because it could mean that "Most of X group is Y", "A large percentage of Y is from X group", "X has had a storied history with Y", or even "Among different populations, the proportion of Y who are X is higher."

You know that's literal grounds for execution in an Islamic country, right? Even the Salafis, the most traditional ones, say that any practitioner of magic should be executed.

As I said, it's not that we worship the stone as having powers as the pagans did, touching the stone is a symbolic practice.
And on the fallibility of previous scripture, that's a rabbit hole I don't know the most about; secular academics outside the realm of apologetics have argued about that in similar measure.

Magic is pretty much considered haram, one of the worst sins in fact. Our belief is that the Bible (the OT, NT, Psalms, etc) were inspired divinely though there's also the belief that they were revised, edited and tarnished over time. And about the Black Stone, it's merely an act of the Prophet (as) who touched it. A saying of the Caliph Umar was that had he not seen the Prophet do it, he wouldn't have done it either.
A lot of the actions made during the Hajj have specific symbolism; the walking 7 times between the two hills representing when Hagar spent 7 days looking for water at that spot, for example, and the throwing of rocks at the pillar representing when Abraham was tempted by the Devil and threw stones at him. In that light, you could see the black stone as a similar thing; holy because of what it may represent rather than it having magic powers or whatever.

I disagree; the Islamic view was a practical 180 from Arab paganism. Not only did it see God as one and no other gods around it, it lampooned the view of the Arabs of the time that God is reachable through intermediaries. Gnosticism on the other hand, while the Quran has tales from the Infancy Gospels, it doesn't share the esoteric ideas it has. If anything, it sees the individual, no matter who, as given the opportunity to discover truth

I'm from the Middle East myself in actuality; the truth is that the gods were in fact incorporated into everyday life as opposed to just abstractions in the sky or whatever, but it was more a process of relation and reciprocation over anything else. The Arabs before Islam were more henotheists, they worshiped gods/goddesses as intercessors to the one God.

I agree with Bloomfield in saying linguistics is a natural science, social elements aren't what's being studied, rather their effect on the faculty of language just as how in biology, the question of how the poor are more likely to be sick is separate from studying disease itself.
Language IS a biological faculty in its origin, one that naturally plays out socially through adaptation. The brain adapts this inherent function to circumstance. More interestingly the genetic tree model was used by Schleicher before Darwin did.
Theoretical and historical linguistics honestly looks a lot more like biology than a social science; it's not purely descriptive, it's formal models representing its mechanisms across the board.
