I think it's kind of tied to the generation it released - as an arcade game most BB games are probably "good", but you're right they're probably not good by today's standards. So many recent games are so much better, so probably not worth the time.
I will say, the later entries got lazier and lazier post arcade era, so I would actually bet the Wiiware and DS entries are pretty bad, personally. The best of the traditional BB games is probably Bubble Symphony or Bubble Memories.
Part 2 is the most different in the series, so I wouldn't consider it a traditional BB game, but I also don't remember it well enough to say if it's good or bad. But of all of them, it's probably the one with the highest chance of still being good.

Actually, Bubble Bobble Part 2 is interesting (NES game) it's designed not for arcades and more like a single player Bubble Bobble game. I remembered liking that entry a lot, it might not have the arcade troubles that the other games faced.

Yeah probably, back in the day I was okay with that because post-arcade era the games mostly had an "Insert Credit" button. But I could have imagined it being pretty bad regardless.

Bubble Bobble is fun! I wasn't willing to add that to this list because, while it's probably a bad game by today's standards, I think historically it was actually a good game (and this list is mostly about bad games or games that maybe others didn't like).
My favourite entry is Bubble Symphony!

Okay I did end up doing that 9 games thing with a slightly different theme. I tried to think of older games I enjoyed but wouldn't really call them defining or favourites of mine. Something weird that I spent more time playing than probably I'd care to admit, or a game I recall liking but don't remember too well otherwise.
Don't take these as recommendations, most of these games probably aren't very good. Play them at your own risk, and also my game taste is bad anyways so :blobcatdab:
1. Cookie & Cream - it was just a fun co-op game I would play with my siblings, I remember enjoying it a lot, it was neat to help the other player on the other side of the screen in some levels.
2. Super Puzzle Bobble - This is the one with that dreadful, "worst box art of all time" American box art. The game itself is actually quite good, and the JP box art is great - that game oozed style, and was actually a pretty good entry in the Puzzle Bobble series. A shame the US box art sucked so hard.
3. Sin & Punishment: Star Successor - On my original list of 9 games I put "Mischief Makers", but if I had to choose another Treasure game I'd probably pick this one. Mostly because I think other Treasure games are already well-liked enough. I like how fully they utilized the main mechanics of the game.
4. Kirby's Dream Course - I actually thought this was a well-liked and popular entry, but I'm always running into people who haven't played it. I bet this game is still fun, honestly.
5. Digimon World - Probably sucks, but I spent way too many hours in that game to ignore it. It's one of those games when you were a kid and had a ton of time it was fun to get lost in, and felt very mysterious to me (relatively speaking, for Digimon game, that is).
6. Rakugaki Kingdom - Again bad US name/boxart, but in this case also bad game (really)! The US name is "Magic Pengel: The Quest for Color". It's not actually a good game, but I always thought the idea was super interesting. Think like monster battles but you draw the monsters to make them - I wish the main story and battle system were better because back in the day that tech was kind of impressive I thought.
7. Megaman Soccer - okay I bet anyone who knows this game likes it. I don't like sports games, but sometimes a game like this pops up and surprises me. I remember playing this with friends a lot back in the SNES days, but oddly never owning it. It was just always at a friend's house and I always had fun playing it. (EDIT: Apparently mostly disliked! So I dunno what to tell you, I remembered enjoying it as a kid.)
8. RayCrisis - I like the whole trilogy, but I gotta say RayCrisis perfected the concept (the final and best of the series). I still occasionally go back and play this game, but a lot of it is probably nostalgia blindness, really. Music is dope, too - the tracks are really long, and I don't think they loop actually (but I could be wrong about that).
9. SkyGunner - This one I barely remember, but I recall it surprising me and having a lot of fun with the flying and fighting mechanic. Really, I should give it another go - I always remember it being "that fun weird flying game I was surprised to like", but I never remember it much more specifically. I only rented it, never owned it, but enjoyed it a lot.

I'm spending too much time spark hunting, but it's such a time consuming activity. I got a somewhatly decent Oguri legacy the other day, but I still need a good Mejiro Ryan for my Late Surgers.
I am falling way behind in my team trials though, so I think I'm going to take a break and build for that first.

This reminds me, I had a very rare training win a few days ago.
I was on a bad career run with Golshi, and my last training of the run happened to be a really good one (with all of the friendship training and one spirit burst), BUT it was 97% failure. Well, it was already a bad run, so I went for it anyway, and actually passed it!!! That will never happen again lmao. :blobcatBox:
If you're thinking I'm lucky from this, I have failed 1% trainings in the past, so I think it all cosmically balances out somehow. :blobcatdab:

Finally, a double-1200. Unfortunately, I never got the recreation events with Riko this run (??), which I was depending on for extra stamina and guts... Also her skills aren't the best.
So not the best build, I think I can do better, but maybe I should move on from Akebono for now. This is probably good enough for sprint.

Speaking of tactical games, I liked Triangle Strategy if you haven't played it.
My big issue with it was more that I don't think they went as far as they could have with the voting mechanic - like, the choices felt a bit obvious like there was a path they wanted you to follow. But it's still pretty cool that the story paths actually branched pretty well from one-another.
The battles were pretty fun, albeit a tad easy, and the music kicked ass. I still recommend it despite its flaws.

I usually like to trial other team combos using some of the CM tickets after securing a seat in the next group, even if I'm not sure it'll work out. But here, I didn't really get to try it. Just went with my prior top-placing uma and Seiun Sky.
Did you do your race in group B yet? If you at least made it to finals you'd get some good loot regardless.

It's actually pretty good odds if you have a good spread of B stats - basically the calculation is:
1. Randomly select any stat (equal chance).
2. Based on stat value weighted random star assignment for that stat.
So for a >600 stat 3-star has a 5% chance, then it jumps to 10% at 1100. The thing that makes it feel so rare is that purely random selection process... Considering that, it drops to like a 1% chance for 600+ rank stats, and 2% for 1100+ rank stat.

My understanding is it's not possible to get a 3-star for a stat less than B rank (which IIRC is 600), so you at least want that. Really, if you don't care which stat gets the 3-star, the most optimal chances is to just make everything B.
I think it's a cliff too, so it's like a small change at 600+, then it doesn't improve until 1100, which is rough.
For pink and green, it's just pure randomness, I believe. The only thing you have control of for pink is it will only select from A>= aptitudes. But it's otherwise just purely random.
White sparks are complicated, but TL;DR skills have a calculation for them, and races are weighted random chance if you win a G1. (Which is why URA is still relevant for spark farming since you'll probably on average get more white sparks in URA scenario.)

That's okay if you're spark hunting! The cap for improving the chance of getting a 3-star for a stat sparks is at 1100 anyways.
I usually aim for 1100 on the desired stat while spark hunting, then round out my other stats for an outside chance at another stat pulling a 3-star in things like speed or power.
The only thing that sucks about this is it builds a lot of bad-to-use-for-just-about-anything uma... But it optimizes your chance at good sparks for legacy. :blobcatShrugSmirk:

Bad final career run for the day, but still finished the URA finals, and got a ton of white sparks in the resulting legacy. Too bad the blue spark was trash. Honestly, I'm kind of excited to do a few more runs with these cards. I think I just got really unlucky this run.

Love this game - I think we discussed this and I thought I had done an S rank challenge in the past, but I was not certain I had actually completed it. I know when I was younger I really struggled with it, but I had thought (but couldn't recall completely) I had attempted it again sometime during college.
Frankly, I'm overdue to replay it again anyways. I have an 8bitdo N64 controller specifically for this game! lol

In no particular order, just as I happened to think of them...
1. RPG Maker games (Witch's House, Ib, To The Moon)
I'm cheating a bit here to pad out the images so that they align properly. If I had to pick just one of these, I'd say To The Moon. But I like the creativeness (despite the chuuni stories) of Ib and Witch's House - it feels wrong to at least not mention them. I have a tendency to like RPG Maker-esque games, because it was a tool I used a lot growing up, so it still feels special seeing a creative game made using that system (or something like it). One day, I'd love to make something similar to one of these games (including the chuuni, that's a necessary element)!
2. Yume Nikki
Yeah it's also RPG Maker, but Yume Nikki is so unique that I'd feel bad lumping it in with the rest. I spent many hours adventuring around in that world. It's very memorable to me for a number of reasons, but hard to recommend because you need to be in the right headspace to enjoy it. I first experience the game when I was going through some big changes in my life, and so that sense of feeling lost in the world translated very nicely to this game. I think if it hits you at the right time, it leaves quite the impression. I still sometimes listen to remixes of the save theme, because it's a very pretty melody.
3. Mischief Makers
Treasure is an interesting company, because sometimes they'll come up with a fun mechanic, and then take it to the absolute limit. I think Mischief Makers is a great example of this. The mechanic is simple; you can grab, throw, and shake things. But what kind of things they do with that is amazing, and a lot of fun. What's more is they do it with fun characters, and make it feel a bit like a saturday morning anime. One day, I wish we'll get an official sequel - Marina totally deserves another outing.
4. Klonoa
Both 1 (PSX) and 2 (PS2) are great games, but they have totally different vibes to them. If I had to say which I liked more, probably 1. But these games are a lot of fun, and I think Klonoa and the world here have great potential past even what these two games demonstrated. If you like platformers, I recommend checking these out! The games are simple, but very memorable, the mechanics are enjoyable, and the OST has some great tracks.
5. Panel de Pon / Tetris Attack
I kind of consider this the ultimate puzzle game, regardless of it's specific coat of paint. I grew up playing Tetris Attack (the Yoshi themed version), but it doesn't really matter which you play the mechanics are amazing here. If you like puzzle games and somehow haven't given this a try, check it out! Though, I feel like everyone has probably played this game to death. Runner up goes to Touhou Spell Bubble, which is a rhythm game variant of Puzzle Bobble, themed with Touhou characters and music, a great game in its own regards.
6. 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim
If you like sci-fi and crazy stories, this is for you. I had a hard time putting this game down when I finally started playing it. It's only a bit harmed by its bad action segments. Even those aren't the worst thing in the world, they're just way too easy even on the highest difficulty. The story here is where it's at though. Try to go into it knowing very little though, it's worth the trip.
7. Xenoblade Chronicles
I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I love it while I'm playing it (except X, that's the only one I just fully didn't like), but they always feel like they have a few fatal flaws that stop me from saying they're absolutely amazing. Still, I can't quite think of anything that I'd rather say for a modern JRPG, and I occasionally find myself missing the series or certain characters. I enjoy it a lot despite the flaws I find with it.
8. Momodora Series
It's a very mechanically pleasing game with great character designs, and excellent polish. The only one I haven't played is the latest (just haven't had time), but I've liked every entry in the series thus far, and it's been a common staple when I think of games that I love. Someday, I'll play the latest entry!
9. Ragnarok Online
This game set the standard for MMOs for me growing up. And to me, nothing has even come close to dethroning it. The beautiful 2D/3D art style still holds up to this day, the music is probably best in genre, and I loved how the skills and job system worked. Nowadays, I find I don't have much time for MMOs, and I'm sure there's much better ones out there. But this took up such a large portion of my life growing up.
10. Umamusume
You knew this'd be on here. Look, I have no idea why I like this stupid horse game. I am not into idols, I don't like horse racing, gacha is dumb, and I can't stand sports anime. But apparently if you put all those things together I can't seem to get enough of it. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a game this much, and I find that I'm still revising how I tackle training and what I'm preferring for different runners 4 months into the game - just let me have this, okay? :blobcatBlush:
Also they're all so cute, goddamn.

I have some tickets for character pulls, maybe I'll blow those on this banner? I just know if I can do at least 200 pulls on the carats I've saved (30k carats), I will be able to use the pity system to get what I want.

You can see here I'm almost all saved up for the Fuku alternate outfit at the beginning of November - almost 23k carats.
I think I'll easily get another ~2k before the end of the month, but I doubt I'll make it all the way to 30k before the banner is up.
I kinda want the Special Week outfit that's on the banner right now, but it would be likely that I'd have to pay for the Fuku banner if I pulled for this, and I'm trying to get away with not paying.
