In a survey of 25 countries, the United States was the only county in which more adults describe the morality of their compatriots as bad than good. 53% of respondents said that the morality and ethics of other people in their country is either somewhat or very bad. Since this is a new question for Pew Research, the team says they don't know whether this is a long-held view or something new. A million miles away in sentiment, but just kilometres away geographically, 92% of Canadians think other Canadians are either very good or somewhat good.

Ford says it's cracked the code on cheap EVs, thanks to more streamlined manufacturing processes and lithium iron phosphate batteries that the company says are more durable, faster charging and more affordable than what it currently uses. There will be more use of automation and robots, but the company declined to specify how this compares to current manufacturing. Ford announced a "family" of low-cost vehicles that will be made in Kentucky, starting with a four-door mid-sized pickup that will arrive in 2027 and will cost $30,000. The automatic license plate reading camera technology made by Flock is supposed to prevent carjackings or find missing people. @nprofile…ncxj says in one Texas case, it was used to track down a woman who was believed to have had a self-administered abortion. 83,000 cameras were used in the search, including ones in states where abortion is legal. The sheriff’s office in Johnson County says that the woman’s family were concerned for her health and that this was the sole reason they were tracking her. “The idea that the police are actively tracking the location of women they believe have had self-administered abortions under the guise of ‘safety’ does not make me feel any better about this kind of surveillance,” says Eve Galperin, director of cybersecurity at digital rights organization the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF).
