At #melbourne zoo they let you go into the lemur enclosure. Might be the most delightful place in the city (except for the person who has the stressful job of stopping toddlers from touching them)

I love that in Australia it’s completely normal to see birds that look like they belong in the rainforest on your morning walk through a suburban part of a non-tropical city.
On the excellent BirdLife Australia Instagram one of their scientists recently talked about how Australian birds might be so bright because many tens of thousands of years ago a lot of Australia was covered in rainforest.

Took a tour of the #melbourne Manchester Unity Building on the weekend. Tour tickets are a bit expensive but so cool to see inside this art deco fever dream. Parts of it are occupied by a very fancy dental practice which is a funny juxtaposition

For real. I have a family member who travels a lot for work. A recent conversation was like oh you're going to (country in the middle east with an iffy reputation and not much tourism)? No big deal, just be respectful and you'll be fine. At least you're not going to America.
