In the US you have a choice to FIFO or use selected lots to account for the cost basis for your gain. If you've already established the lots methods then that would work. If you've filled FIFO in the past then you'll need an accountant to advise how to convert. But yes this is very possible.

I understand your point, however I don’t know if the anonymous people “verifying” code are good actors either.
For people who can’t verify for themselves (like me) - Apple is the best available option, whereas they appear to be legit in attempting to protect user data and they have the resources to fight legally.
I love the idea of Graphene and I have it installed on a Pixel 5 so I can use Samurai wallet. My primary point is I am trusting that the folks who tell me Graphene is safe are legitimate as well.
You could be a CIA agent attempting to persuade people to use Graphene because you were able to merge a back door into it. I don’t know.

Yeah I’m not a tech wizard so I rely on others to keep my data safe.
Apple has the money and seemingly the willpower to fight against prying. I encrypt my data and hopefully it’s legit.
I give Apple lots of money to keep my shit safe. There’s no digital “freedom” if you can’t hack - you can only rely on what others tell you
So I’ll be using an iPhone with data encryption vs hoping a rando numb fuck really is adept at keeping my shit secure

are you talking about ledger live the program or your ledger hardware device?
you can sign transactions on mynode via ledger using sparrow wallet or spector
create a wallet via spector or sparrow that is connected to your mynode and choose option to setup wallet via hardware wallet
i think you’re trying to bypass the 3rd party wallet and your life will be much easier if you use one of those
plenty of docs on sparrow and spector that can guide you
