Baptism Saves. 💦
Not the ceremony where a believer is submerged into water, thus signalling his allegience to the New Covenant, but the baptism of the Holy Spirit (also called regeneration), where an unbeliever is given a new nature, born again with a saving faith in Christ.
Somebody who has been baptized of the Spirit should urgently seek out a public baptism to announce his conversion and make obedient his exterior circumstances to his newly granted interior self.

If we had to be partly responsible for salvation, if the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross was insufficient, I would despair all Christians unsaved.
But I don't.
I don't and can't believe that Christ can fail to save any of those whom the Father sent Him to save
I don't believe that God in His sovereignty can fail to redeem His predestined people to Himself.
God grants His select creatures a God-loving disposition, freeing them from the selfish, God-hating nature and granting them new life in His Son.
This is what, by God's providence, the Reformers recovered.

Jesus to Nicodemus: "Truly, truly - unless someone is born again they cannot enter my Kingdom".
Total regeneration, a new creature, is required to believe in and persevere in Christ.
This is how it happened with me. I wasn't good enough to believe Christ. I wasn't and am not able to collaborate with God. I depend on Him every day of my pilgrimage. I bring nothing to my salvation except my sin.

Like the Catholics, the Orthodox believe Man is good enough to collaborate with God, and ultimately save himself by leveraging God's grace.
The Reformed tradition teaches absolute depracity. Man loves himself and his interests too much to cease his rebellion. We require regeneration even to have faith in Christ. Every step of salvation must be given to God for His glory alone.

Mary gracefully surrenders to Gabriel's news that she will concieve of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.
God sent an angel to relay Mary's role to her, not to propose a redemptive collaboration, but to inform her to the means that God in His glory had determined to come in the flesh.
Upon hearing Gabriel, Mary, who already had the Spirit indwelling within (Luke 1:28), was inclined to obedience to God, and as a result of that prior regeneration, was already being drawn to Christ in His coming.

I think where the Roman Catholics went wrong is a lack of Biblical proportionality in regards to her vs Christ and also the slippery slope of extra Biblical doctrine, especially that of co-intercessor and co-redeemer. That she was ascended into Heaven like Christ. That she was a Martyr like Christ because of her grief. You have Pope's praying "Mary save me" after being shot. It's a runaway train of heresy.

Luther + Calvin affirmed Theotokos.
They rejected immaculate conception, or Mary's perpetual virginity as extra Biblical.
Theotokos + Hypostatic Union = One Person of Christ with two inseperable natures.
Mary births God, Christ stays one, and his cross covers sinners (including her).

You don't need immaculate conception to dodge Nestorianism.
The Theotokos title guards against it: the baby Mary bore is God. She birthed Jesus's flesh, but His divine nature is not seperable from his human nature.
Mary's sinlessness isn't what keeps Christ one, His hypostatic union does.
Mary needed the cross, and Christ stayed one Person with two inseperable natures.
This is consistent with the Reformers.

Hmm? Reformed Christians affirm Christ as one person with two natures, exactly as Chalcedon requires.
The penal suffering is attributed to one person of Christ, according to his human nature, sustained by his divine nature.
The fathers who DEFEATED Nestorianism teach penal substitution.
Caricatures that turn atonement into two seperate agents are not representative of the reformed faith.

Mary, being blessed by the Father to carry and deliver Jesus, is the earthly mother of Christ's flesh.
Mary does not share in the divine nature of Jesus Christ. She does not inherent it through her role in God's glorious plan.
Mary is not our heavenly mother. Mary is not our Queen. Christ is King alone.
Christ does not need a co-intercessor; Christ alone pays the debts of all whom the Father has sent Him to save.
Mary's Father in Heaven is our Father in Heaven. Mary's Savior and Mediator is Jesus Christ.
Worshipping Mary, praying devotions to Mary, or any "veneration" of Mary is making an idol of Mary, elevating her to the divine, and helping the Antichrist's feminist order.
The honor and payment Mary recieves will come from God in heaven. All of our worship should be directed at our Father in Heaven alone, in union with Christ, guided by the Spirit.

Orthodox, with their "veneration" of Theotokos, are more aligned with Catholicism than not.
Hard truth is that the ancient church, both East and West, strayed into Marianism not too long after the disciples entrusted Christ's tradition to them.

I take issue with Marianism.
Christ is the only mediator between us and the Father. Writing additional mediators into the faith is heretical.
