The enemy can only distract, delay, discourage, and denigrate. It cannot create or destroy. Creation and destruction happen through us: the nodes, the vessels, the conduits.
That’s an important aspect of spiritual warfare: which aims, which powers, which gods do we subject ourselves to? If you think you can bypass this question by focusing on the individual Self, you’re gravely mistaken.

Something from the vaults. Not sure if it's more suitable for a short- or long form note. I'll probably include it in The Basics of Yoga pt. 2 (the keys to life in the first chapter are "fun" and "sacrifice" and even though I haven't begun the 2nd one (or have I...?) the keys in that one are "create" and "let go"). Anyway...
"GIVING YOURSELF TO THE WORLD"
Sharing yourself with the world, the universe, is, in a broad sense, the meaning of life. Because life prepares us for death and in death, we give our very lives to the universe and dissipate into the cosmic unity of everything. The process already starts when we are born. Everywhere we go and everything we do, think, say, we leave traces of ourselves, our ideas, our love, our life energy as it flows through us. So as we live out our lives, we are continually sharing, discarding and giving away fragments of ourselves to the world. The death of the physical body and thus letting go of any worldly possessions and relationships is just the final note that the whole symphony crescendos towards. Thus, I believe, one of the goals in the game of life is to give away as much of yourself as possible before the actual death. The more you give, the more united you become with the source and the easier and more pleasant the process of passing away will be.

3 years ago, on March 18 2023, I published the first public draft of a piece called "Unified Creation Energy Theory" (UCET, get it?)
I was traveling in Cambodia at the time, kind of lost, but had a clear understanding of how the physical/material part of reality was being used to drain us of energy and agency. I had a far-fetched idea of making a self-made documentary about "The Kingdom of Death" i.e. how this spiritual warfare was being waged against us, against life. I was already filming some footage for it, when a more complete picture was starting to form in my head as well as in the notes in my journal. I entered a state which I can only describe as divine inspiration, or perhaps madness, and worked to write it all down. I also made sure to publish it ASAP because I figured that if this was as accurate as I thought it was, doing so was of utmost importance. The first draft was ready in less than a week, first public draft in ~2 weeks, and the second, updated version of the public draft another month from there.
Thinking that I was onto something big, I sent the article to a whole bunch of spiritually/philosophically inclined bitcoiners as well as podcasters. Most ignored me. However, some took the time to read it and within the 3 years since, a bunch of other people have joined those ranks. Here's what some people have said about it:

Pneuma is the active principle in Stoic physics - it is the corporeal, animating principle that permeates the cosmos and structures both the universe and individual beings. It is identified with the Logos (reason/rationality) and with God or Zeus in Stoic theology. A few key points:
- It is a mixture of fire and air, giving it both warmth and movement
- It is the force that holds things together (tonos — tension), giving objects their cohesion, plants their growth, and rational beings their reason
- The Stoics conceived of different grades of pneuma: hexis (cohesion in minerals), physis (growth in plants), psyche (soul in animals), and logos (reason in humans and the cosmos itself)
- The entire cosmos is essentially a living organism animated by pneuma

Great quote! I'm not concerned with most of that personally, perhaps only with comparing myself to previous versions of myself. I am, however, concerned with having food to eat & a roof over my head - and not to be a burden on my family or anyone else for that matter. At least that's my idea of "making it" - the ability to be who you are and to do what you do, without selling yourself in the process or being pulled by the strings by your bosses, government, or society at large.
Like I wrote some time ago: "True freedom is being free to be who you really are," and that it "is not as much about being able to do what you want, it is more about being able to do what you need."

At around 1:21:00 mark, Asanoha mentions how an artist has to be a social media marketing master to "make it" as an artist these days. I laughed, because just a few weeks before I vented about this in my journal:
"One of the most aggravating aspects of being a one-man enterprise on the Internet is the constant need to self-promote. I’m an ARTIST. I’m an ENTREPRENEUR. I’m an ATHLETE. I’m not a goddamn “content creator” or a marketer. There’s a reason I was anonymous and completely off social media pre-2022. From a personal vantage point, the main thing I "got" from the education system was good friends, some of whom I'm still very close with to this day.
Also, there's a whole different dynamic to studying and coming up with things if there are likeminded people around you, interested and invested in the same things. You can bounce ideas off of each other, inspire each other, provide different perspectives, correct & criticize each other, there's an element of competition that may arise, etc.
I've worked on most of my interests in solitude my whole life. The flame of inspiration is much more likely to go out if it feels like a solo effort that makes no difference to anyone. But maybe that's just my ego and the craving to belong.

Online education is definitely a big part of it. And probably the easiest viable method for approaching this + for making it accessible for pretty much the whole globe. However, personally I'm pretty sick and tired of being tied to my computer and/or phone all the time, plus there's a whole different dimension of learning and interaction going on if people are physically in the same space as well.
On a slightly off-topic note, Saylor's been getting a lot of flak recently (some of it for good reasons), but things like the Saylor Academy are really a great, big step in the right direction (although I've never taken a course there and can't vouch for the quality of the materials there)

Kyrios or kurios (κύριος) is a Greek word that is usually translated as "lord" or "master". It appears roughly 7,000 times in the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible.
However, the English word curious is not derived from the Greek word Kurios. The similarity between "curious" and "kurios" is phonetic only - a coincidental resemblance in sound, without any shared linguistic ancestry.
Nevertheless, I find this to be a very curious coincidence (pun intended). For it is through curiosity first and foremost that we can find our calling and align with our soul purpose. Kurios is what calls; curiosity is what orients. The direction of our attention often governs our destiny.

I've been thinking a lot about the Fourth Turning lately as well as the Bitcoin halving cycles.
What if Bitcoin also has cycles within cycles? What if the fourth halving is the fourth turning of Bitcoin? An era of crisis: a civil war, diminishing returns, the lack of interest from pre-coiners, Epstein & quantum FUD, a war between cypherpunk and State / Wall Street principles, an empty mempool, a sense of disillusionment within the community, etc.
Will #Bitcoin emerge victorious and enter a new "high" era in 2028? Or are the naysayers finally right and this is the beginning of the end for the digital asset?

I'm sorry to hear life's been hard on you. I don't think anyone deserves anything, much less a 14 year old deserves suffering.
But I guess my message is that you don't have to identify with, or hold on to, past experiences that made life unbearable. Now I'm not saying you should dismiss whatever your past was and pretend as if it didn't happen. Nor that any of this is easy. But how you perceive life now and how you interact with it is yours to choose. The world may have disempowered you, but you can empower yourself. Going through darkness sometimes can help us illuminate the way for others experiencing similar hardships...

Zeno of Citium, the founder of Stoicism, is said to have envisioned a society in which all people lived according to reason, without law courts, temples, or currencies divided by city-states, in his now-lost book Republic.
That bit of information just blew my mind. If that's not an utterly anarcho-capitalist #Bitcoin idea, then I don't know what is. And he wrote it 2000+ years ago!
BTW I'm close to finishing my essay on the convergence of Bitcoin and #Stoicism. If there's anyone out there who has been genuinely looking forward to that piece, I apologize for the wait from the bottom of my heart. I have been letting you down - as well as myself - and I am painfully aware of that. I have two very good reasons for the delay though:
1) The parallels run much deeper than I thought (I had no idea Zeno was basically an anarchist) and the essay, instead of being 2000-3000 words like I originally thought, is looking more like 7000+ words.
2) I have simply been not at my best. Unmotivated, tired, undisciplined. Completely my own shortcomings.
All that being said, I go to war against myself every day. I put pen to paper every day, even when nothing noteworthy comes out of it (or sometimes it feels like it's too much to even put out there). But, as I said, the essay is very close to being finished.
