Agreed, begrudgingly under the systems on offer - as Sowell says there aren't any decisions, only trade-offs. Elite theory also says the same - which out of elite group's multiple views fit best with one's outlook with minimal interference.

Interesting chat. The guy interviewed understands the issues we all have, but appears to be in a team building a #Nostr protocol competitor, to tackle the same issues we all face with centralised services and #privacy
Not so good imho:
1) Nostr already exists as a protocol, it's a shame resources potentially capable of helping build it out further are recreating the wheel (much of the #tech mentioned is already utilised here)
2) It appears to be PoS 💩coin powered from near the end of the interview.
3) Competition is good, but typically at a technology level rather than a first mover protocol level. (An analogy being Token Ring is in the dustbin of history now)

I'm on the side of this is a good thing, even though it's a bad thing. There will be systems in the venue, on the way to the venue, perhaps even down to purchasing the tickets for the concert that will be scanning and logging you regardless - to provocatively use it as a potential wakeup call for people that don't think about these things, either through not caring or ignorance - will hopefully bring questions up about 'is this the way we want the world to be?' and from there positive actions to dealing with it.

Maybe @nprofile…e425, but the games in question are *legal* and a payment processor's job is to facilitate payment for legal trade, not get involved in moral or behaviour changing activities. I'm not a fan of that genre and it sounds like you aren't as well, but it's not much of a stretch to see how this mechanism if allowed for legitimate activity can be extended into other *legally allowed* fields. Since you aren't using a smartphone at the moment - get yourself a secondhand Pixel 7a which will be a lot cheaper than the latest and greatest. Flashing @nprofile…aud2 is super simple by following the instructions on their website. Download Zapstore and you will be off to the races. If you need them, you can install Google Services from Graphene that you may need for certain wallets to function. You can do clever things with Grapheme by having separate user profiles for Google dependent services on one profile and degoogled on another. As a beginner wallet, Wallet of Satoshi is brilliant. It runs in a degoogled profile but I think it is still custodial, so don't keep too much on it. The Graphene forums will give you loads of info about great open source non or minimal tracking apps you may also want to use. Good luck and go for it! 💪💪

When I first understood it, I was evangelical about it, telling all of my friends in depth what I'd learnt - how it would change their world and The World for the better. Some of my friends got it and trusted me and verified it. Other times, I felt like a dodgy used car salesman - but it was a top of the line Porsche I was selling to them! That can be disheartening, but you can only do so much and ultimately only really affect yourself. So I keep learning about it and subjects connected to it, bringing them up occasionally in obtuse or indirect ways for them to have something to think about. When the time or pain point is right, you'll be there. More grease to your elbow, sir!
