#Journal of a tired Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Monday, 08/12/2025).
Well, I woke up after about 6 hours again... 😔 But this time, I wasn't hurting too much, so I tried to get back to sleep for a bit. And, hey, I managed to get another hour in. Which was very welcome, as I've been running on an average of 5¾ hours lately, and it's just not enough. The scale was being its usual self again. I got dressed, took my meds, and got ready to head to the gym.
Skoosh and I arrived safely, and I checked my social media bits while enjoying my protein shake. I rode the bike for 20 minutes, walked the treadmill for 10, and then wanted to enjoy the massage chair. But... They were taken, so I lucked out on that. I switched my shoes, and Skoosh and I headed back home.
Washed up, got dressed, and worked on my blog post. After I finished the post, I had brekky. I went back to work on my puzzle a bit, as I hope to get the sky done this week... More would be even better, of course... 😇 After a while, I went upstairs for a little bike ride. After that, I grabbed my laptop and worked on my journal blog post while I also answered a friend's messages.
Bestie called me on her way to work. When she arrived, I got to the treadmill, where I walked 1,5km. Made some food, read a bit, and after a while, I got ready to head to Nijmegen.
Mum and I got some groceries. Then we walked with Bas. After the hairdresser had sheared my wool, I quickly headed back home. Cleaned up my groceries, and then I walked with the neighbor and her black 🖤 fluff. When I got back, I got to bed. It didn't take too long to fall asleep. Unfortunately, 6 hours later, my body "told" me that I had to get up again... 😔 Well, I started my new "day", trying to make the best of it.

I was interested in reading (and writing) early on. When I was about 9, I got interested in English kids books. And when I was around 13, I started reading adult fiction books. First in Dutch, my own language, and later on in English. I don't read dictionaries. 😉 But when I read, it's still mostly in the original English language, instead of the translated Dutch ones.

The beautiful sun snaps, nature, freshly baked treats, and of course... Summer! 🐾
The last 6 months have been a mix of many extremities, with trauma, pain, and loss...
Your toots always share warmth, support, gratitude, and love. And when I am able to read them, they help me, especially on bad days.
With this Toot, I wanted to express my gratitude. Although I don't feel like my words could ever describe how it helps... It just does... :bear_love:

Everyone here knows how much I loved my little brown furry soulmate...
Everyone knows how devastated I was after her passing... And that I still cry every day over her...
A thought I just had while scrolling through my Pixelfed :pixelfed: wall... How much I miss taking pictures of and with her!
I've been editing many older ones, for blog use and all that... And it's good to cherish the memories. But... I really miss making new memories with her...
I know there will be a new furry love in several months, and I know I'll bore you all to death with snaps and vids of that little one...
But that doesn't mean that I don't miss all the snaps I took with and from Arwen.

When I know there will be sunny days, where the solar panels will work some magic, I'll try to run the dishwasher and/or washing machine. The electricity here is becoming quite expensive, and if er give back to the grid, we actually have to pay a fine over it! So if there are sunny moments forecast, then I sure try to use them.... 😊

I sometimes am thinking "hey, I should boost a bit more".
But then I start to fear that maybe I'll boost too much...
I know people can "mute boosts" by users.
But I don't want to be boosting that much that folks feel like they have to mute mine...
If that makes any sense. 🤔
In my mind, if people need to mute my boosts, than I have "annoyed" them in a way that I don't want to happen...
Maybe I should just stick to boosting most things with my Friendica @npub1nnu…7npl account instead? 🤔
Ah well... Guess it's one of those nights where my brain is messing with me again...

Hope Summer's ears will be better soon!
Ear infections can be so hard to deal with. Arwen had two of them and it took quite some time to get them gone... But she was a trooper and always took the lotion like a pro. Still, it was hard to see her struggle with them... 😔
So I really hope Summer's ears will heal up ASAP. Poor gall.... 🐾 💜

I usually like and sometimes boost... I am not too good with replying to them.
I do enjoy the toots, the wisdom and love that gets shared with them... And, to be honest, the water 💦 bombing snaps of Summer make me smile with love every time...

Thanks for the reply. I've checked that bit several times but somehow, there is nothing in my account settings that shows me the option for quotes. 😔
I tried to screenshot the screen but somehow it didn't want to work properly.
But it shows my banner, avatar, bio, text fields, hashtags, and then the bit that's in the screenshot I've attached. I checked and there was no further app update available.
Is there something I missed? 🤔

I've received the update for the app, which includes the quoting options! 😁 Thanks for the hard work. :blobcatflower: But, I have a question: is there a way to change a setting so the option of "who's able to quote" is always set to my preferred setting? I now need to change it with every Toot I write.
Maybe it's already in the settings options? I tried to find it but... No luck yet.
Hopefully there will be a way to set the quote option to a preferred setting, since changing it with every Toot is a bit annoying (I do like to Toot a bit... 🫣).

I'm finally relaxing on the couch with some old skool Star Trek TNG on the telly. Normally I'd prep for bed around 16:30, but I've had two shorter and broken nights and I'm rather tired at the moment.
Plus, I need to check if the "nasty dude" indeed comes to the gym every night around the same time. As I would love to avoid him as much as I can. His gross behavior is making me feel 🤢 and it triggers me in all the wrong ways. I want to be able to relax while focusing on getting better again, and that's not easy to do, especially not when triggered by the bad coughing and sneezing and scraping of throats while paying no regard to hygiene... 😖 Nope, no thanks...
So I'm going to change my routine and alarms a bit and do my little "nasty dude" experiment.
Some things are better to avoid when possible.
So some more relaxing and then I'll pack my bag and brush my teeth and get ready for bed.
Hopefully my bruises and bed and brain will allow me to sleep a bit better tonight. I just took my meds and supplements.
Tomorrow my expensive supplement should arrive... I have no idea what to expect, but it was a good deal, so of it helps me, I should be OK for a few months to come. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 and all that.
For those curious folks, I ordered "Lucovitaal CBD 10mg Cannabidiol Capsules". (https://www.lucovitaal.nl/cbd-10mg-capsules-maxipot.html 🔗 page of the product I ordered on the company's website, it's in Dutch but most browsers are supporting some sort of translation options). I've heard some good things about how it could help. They're not the strongest ones, nor the "best" ones, but these had a good sale price and some decent reviews. Wish me luck 🍀 I guess...
Lately, if I try to relax enough to fall asleep, even when I'm so tired and I took all the meds and supplements and all that, my blood pressure seems to be a bit higher than usual. Around the times of the surgeries, my BP was rather low, and I felt good. It surprised the nurses, as usually folks with "my pressure" at the time, would feel dizzy, wobbly and/or weaker. I was able to use the crutches and hobble around and visit the loo without too much issues (only the ones caused by the surgery and/or dislocation).
I checked with the few stats my app has, and around the date of the second surgery, my BP measured between 88-107 upper pressure and 47-58 lower pressure. And some numbers were measured by my watch, but some were by an air-pressured band, so it wasn't caused by "bad readings" from my watch. But, the last few days, I've been dealing with a higher HR at times, even while resting, and every time I can hear my blood pumping in my head/behind my ears (hope this makes sense), my pressure has been higher. 😔 Last few measurements were between 108-145 upper and 56-88 lower. So, compared go two months ago, it's quite a change. And I must say I was more able to relax and fall asleep when my pressure wasn't "pulsing behind my ears".
Ah well, sorry, I'm brabbling! Seems like I do that a lot today (my journal Toot was longer than usual as well).
I did finish a blog post for tomorrow. And I think I found a dog quote for Thursday, now I need to select the best snap of Arwen to edit and put it behind the quote... It's almost getting easier to look at pictures of her (she types while tears slowly well up in her eyes again 🥺), to remember the good memories. It's just still so hard, because these memories make me miss her more again... :sad_dog:

#Journal of a slightly busy Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Thursday, 04/09/2025).
I woke up a few times during the night and then I got up around 0:45. A little early, but I was wide awake so I best start my day.
According to the watch, I slept about 8 hours in total. My sleep score was at 89, so not too shabby. My energy score was low, at 59, as my "rhythm was off". As I mentioned yesterday, if you don't sleep between 23-2, my watch will take off points because it thinks you're disrupting your sleep routine. You can't change that for folks that are doing better on a different time schedule... 🤔
I got up and went to the scale. It showed me the same weight as the previous day. I took my meds, got dressed, and got ready to head to the gym. When I saw the moon shining rather beautifully, I got teary eyed. I thought about my grandma. But also, all the nights where I walked with Arwen and where I took snaps of the moon 🌕 during those SniffiVerse™ walkies...
I got to the gym safe and sound and dried my eyes and headed in. As I was scrolling a bit on Masto, my stomach started to cramp. Damn! Not here... Not now... 😔 Of course there were several people still around, some of whom would use the ladies room... Full of shame, I headed to the furthest, smallest, loo and did my terrible thing... 🫣 Ugh! That's always the downside for me, coming back from vacation where I enjoyed (white) buns. It always affects my bowels. The joys of IBS. 😔
After that, I headed to the seated bike. I rode on a low level at a slow speed for half an hour. Then I headed to the treadmill. I walked in it for ten minutes, most of it at 2,8kmh with a 2% incline. I still feel like I wobble, like my right leg seems shorter than the left one. Maybe it's true, maybe it has to do with my muscles? I definitely need to ask my PT next Tuesday. After the walk, I used the massage chair for ten minutes and then I got ready to head home again.
I changed my clothes and then headed upstairs to work on my blog a bit. After that I relaxed with some telly. Around 5:30 I tried to quietly pack Skoosh with my recycling cans and bottles. A short walk after that before I got into Skoosh and I headed to Nijmegen.
The steets were less busy than I thought, so I was at my parents too early, even though I had filled up Skoosh at the gas station. While mum was getting ready, bestie called me, so I had a chat with her while waiting for mum.
When mum was finally ready, we headed towards Kleve. First Penny, where we tried to get the recycling ♻️ bits handed in. Unfortunately, they didn't accept it all, so we were left with a few bits. Still, not having been there for a while made it that we got €50 for all the bottles and cans! That goes into the "puppy saving tin" 🐾.
We managed the other groceries we needed, so we headed back to Nijmegen. Two stores there to visit. But at the Appie, I got a very painful entrance. The gate closed a tad fast and rather hard, and of course it smashed against the most painful bit of my leg. 😢 So after some pain and tears, mum and I told a worker there, as mum also got the gate smashed against her... Of course this didn't take away the ouchies, so I hobbled through the store, trying to get back on track.
We got back to my parent's house and I helped unpack the car and bags. When mum was ready with her bits and bops, we headed to the small woods with Bas. It was a bit hard for me to be there, as some of the last snaps of Arwen were made there. 😢 But the walk was nice, although a tad sore.
After the walk, dad wasn't up yet, and I didn't have the time nor the energy to wait too long. So mum and I gathered the needed things to head to the city's center to pick up the two laptops for dad and me... We couldn't park at the usual spot, unfortunately, so we had to park in a further away location which was also more expensive. But the pickup went well, payment went OK, and before we knew it, we were heading back to Skoosh again.
When we got back, dad was up. So I handed him the bag with his laptop and mouse. After that I gathered my groceries and laptop and packed up Skoosh to head back home. Fortunately, "my spot" was still free, so I could easily park behind the house and get my stuff inside.
I fixed some food and then I unpacked the laptop. Slowly started to install things and bits and such. But I was rather tired, so after a while I just gave up and got ready to head to bed. My leg was very sore and I needed some extra meds to be able to lay down properly so I could relax and be able to fall asleep.
I didn't wake up too often during the night, and in the end, I woke up at 2 when the alarm went off. I had slept for about 9 hours! Which was a long time for me... Ready to start the night 😉.

#Journal of a slightly enthusiastic Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Wednesday, 03/09/2025).
I had fallen asleep a tad early. I had woken up a few times during the night, feeling achy and sweaty (my age perhaps? 🤔). When I woke up again around midnight I was wide awake. I scrolled on my phone for a while and then I got ready to start my day a little earlier than planned.
Because I didn't sleep between 12-2, my sleep score was rather low this time, with only 74. But it was also because I had only slept around 6 hours tonight... My energy score was even lower, as it depends more on the time that you are asleep. Somehow you can't change your sleeping pattern hours in the energy score bit, and if you don't sleep between 12-2, as I mentioned, your sleep score goes down a lot. I only got a score of 57, saying my sleep was getting in danger. Well, I did have a bad night, but still... I've had worse...
Scale, meds, getting dressed. Got to Skoosh and we headed to the gym. As my PT had said what I was and wasn't allowed to do, I just started with the seated bike again. Then, I went to the treadmill. I felt a bit wobbly, like my right leg is a bit shorter than the left one. 🤔 Must ask my PT about this on Tuesday. I walked at 2,5kmh with a 2% incline for 0,25km. Then without the incline for 50 meters. It felt weird but also satisfying, in a way. Then I used the hip abductor (pushing the knees outward) on lowest setting for a wee bit, which went better than I expected. I almost wanted to add more weight, but I remembered the PT's warning and I didn't.
Then I got ready to head back home again. Back home, I changed my clothes and headed upstairs. I worked on my blog for a while. Got back down, where I wrote some bits on my tablet. After some writing and some telly, I got ready to head out for a walk. I played a little Ingress and managed to walk a bit further. When I got back, I made me some brekky.
After the food, I went upstairs and I rode my home trainer for half an hour. During that time, bestie called me and we had a nice chat while she rode to her work. I was a bit tired of the walk and riding, so I watched some telly on bed. When I was a tad more rested, and the weather seemed to improve a little, I decided to head out to for another walk.
After the walk, I was eagerly waiting for an update from DHL. They would deliver my pendant parcel to the parcel dispenser safe in town today. I was hoping they'd do it early, so I could walk to the supermarket (where the safe is) and retrieve it. I never used it before, so I hoped that it would be as easy as they said. But first, I needed an email with the code.
As it was dry, I went to Skoosh, who fortunately was parked behind the house, and I took out the special dog protection cover. I still need to hoover the car, but I need to be a bit more "bendy" to be able to do that. Maybe, if the weather os good enough, I will visit the car wash before PT next week and then get the hoover through it as well. It was a bit emotional to get the cover out. It felt like I was "getting rid of" Arwen from Skoosh. I still have her ball in my car and I won't take that out. I tried to get most of the sand out, I shook out the cover, and then I headed back inside.
I fixed some food, watched some telly, and tried to relax a bit. Around noon, I got the notification. Slipped on my shoes and headed to the store. It was a bit of a longer walk, as it was about 1km to the store, and then back again. So I was hoping that I could manage it... I got to the safe, didn't figure out how to scan the QR I got, so manually added the code. Got a sweet little box out of it, and then I started my walk back.
All went well, fortunately. When I got home, I unpacked the box and found a beautiful pendant. It really looked wonderful. It was heavier than I thought, so I need to get used to wearing the weight, and I won't wear it everywhere, as I am scared something may happen to it. But yeah, I loved it! I tried to take a snap of it to share with some family and friends. I got a tad emotional because of it, so I spent some time sobbing and such. And then I got very tired, so I tried to relax with some telly. I had managed to get to 10k steps, and I had done some exercises, so I felt good about myself. Tired and a bit sore, but good.
After some telly I decided I would change my clothes, take my meds, get my eReader and just read until I would doze off. I fell asleep rather soon/early, around 16:11, or so my watch told me. But then, I was very tired, so I guess it was for the best... I woke up twice during the night for the loo. Around 0:42 I got up and started my day, as I felt rested enough now. My watch told me I had slept a little over 8 hours, so that was a good thing. Ready to start my new day.

#Journal of a slightly distracted Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Tuesday, 02/09/2025).
I had a restless night, where I woke up almost every hour or so. 😔 Around 1:40 I woke up again and as it was almost alarm time, I decided to get up and started.
My sleep score came in at 74, "fair". My energy score gave me a 72. I know it may hate me soon, if I have more nights where I wake up before my 2am alarm. It's very silly about which hours one should be sleeping, even when you have this whole routine that works for you.
I got to the scale. I took my meds and got dressed. Prepped the gym bag and headed to Skoosh. It's still so weird not to be walking with Arwen first, after getting dressed... 😢
I drove to the Basic-Fit and enjoyed the protein shake. Carefully switched my shoes, as I didn't have the shoe help here. But it went well. I only rode the seated bike for half an hour again, just like yesterday. But... When I got off, I didn't feel the tingling that I felt before the surgeries 🤞🏻 maybe..?
After the ride, I got ready to head home again. Back home, I went upstairs and I worked a bit on my blog. I took down the laundry, as it was dry, and took it downstairs with me. The bedroom had gotten a bit messy, so I cleaned up some things and then I tidied away the clothes and all.
I browsed a bit for a decent bag for the new laptop to be. I have a good bag for my old one, but I don't want to ditch that one just yet, and I do want the new one to be protected. I found one that I could afford that could also hold the tablet and my keyboard and mouse. So I could stash it away safely together. Earliest delivery was on Thursday, but I'd be in Nijmegen (and Germany) then, so I set it to Friday. Need to be home anyway due to the picking up of the bed.
I got a notification that my crystal lasered pendant should arrive today. But... No time yet. I got my headphones and put on my other shoes, and went out for a walk. Played a wee bit of Ingress along the way.
When I got back, I headed upstairs again and I rode the bike for half an hour. While I was riding, bestie called me, and we had a nice chat. After the call, I made myself some brekky. Then, I got the little gas tanks that I had for Skoosh, and I got those into her.
I wrote a bit for my blog while also playing with the BT mouse. For some reason, it would connect and work on a first pairing, but after being shut off, it would connect but... It would not work... 🤔
I went out for another walk, had a bit of food, and then I got ready to head to physical therapy. My neck and shoulders were very painful, so some TLC would definitely be welcome. I arrived in time and we had a good session. It felt painful but also gave some relief.
On the way back home, I stopped at Lidl for some groceries. Then I headed back home. Dhl had emailed me at 11:24 that they'd deliver between 11:30-14:15. Yeah that didn't give me any time to ask a neighbor... 😔 I saw that we have a parcel safe in town now, so I decided to have it delivered there. I should be able to pick my parcel up sometime tomorrow... 🤞🏻 I really hope it turned out nicely! 🍀
I went on a walk again, during which I emailed a sweet friend. When I got back, I made myself some food and then I relaxed. I was rather tired, so after some time, I just changed clothes and took my meds and got ready for bed. It didn't take too long to fall asleep.
I woke up a few times, but around 0:30 I was wide awake and got up. Started the new "day" a little earlier...

I just finished the journal Toot and now I am slowly getting ready to head outside for a short walk. It's 14°C at the moment with a humidity of 80%, but at least it was/is dry, which is good. I need to change my shoes first, as my Lowa's are more stable than the old sneakers (that are in need of replacement, hopefully I can get to that in a few weeks).
After I get back from walkies, I will make some brekky and then bestie may call me on her way to work.
I need to fill the gasoline tanks into Skoosh when it's more light outside, so she can drive around some more and I can get her filled up Thursday in Nijmegen (it's a bit cheaper there) and then I can fill the tanks in Germany, where it's usually even a bit cheaper than in Nijmegen... :ablobcatangel:
I have my PT appointment today at noon, so I have to leave the house around 11/11:15 so I can be sure (well, sure enough) to be in Cuijk in time. I am looking forward to getting my muscles cared for, as they are in need of some TLC/good massage.
This morning I ordered a laptop bag for the new laptop. It should also hold the tablet and the extra's I have for it, so it will be easier to take my gadgets with me "on the go". I set the delivery to Friday, as I will be home that day for the bed to be picked up.

#Journal of a slightly confused Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Monday, 01/09/2025).
My alarm went, I turned it off (and not on snooze 🤦🏼) and I pulled up my legs to start my back exercises before I wanted to get up. When I got up, I was so confused, as the clock showed that it was an hour later than I'd set the alarm. Right? 🤔
I went to the scale, took my meds, and got dressed. I grabbed my bag and wobbled to Skoosh. We went to the gym. I played on my phone a bit and managed to get my shoes switched. I was a bit worried about that, as I don't have my helping thingies with me at the gym. I got to "action" and rode for 30 minutes on the seated bike.
It felt a bit weird, as I'd not used my muscles like this for a while now. But with the backrest I was able to sit properly and I managed a half hour on low and slow speed. I wrote a bit for my journal Toot while I was riding.
I checked my health score thingies, and for my sleep score, I got 80, which was "good". My energy score got to "good" as wel, with 79 points. It said it showed that I was doing well, and I could lead the day with my energy and be proud of myself.
After the half hour, I went back to the chairs, changed my shoes, and when I was relaxed enough, I wobbled back to Skoosh. There still weren't any good parking spots available, thanks municipality for taking them all and not providing enough avaliable ones now (there will be more, but they aren't working on the bit that needs to he done now, so who knows how long we'll still be in this mess? Grrr... 😠).
I got home and I went upstairs for a while. I worked on my blog, adding text and images to my journal post. When I had almost finished my post, I saved it and went back down again. I switched my shoes and headed out for a short walk. I had updated my Ingress game (https://ingress.com/) and made a new account so I could start fresh. In the little bit that I walked, there weren't too many points where I could do some things. And, to be honest, I kinda forgot some bits of how to play, so I needed to get back into it as well. I played a little and then I finished my journal Toot that I was still working on.
I had some brekky when I got back. Then I updated my journal blog post some more, before I went to the home trainer to ride it for 10k, which took me about 26 minutes. I relaxed a bit after that, and then the weather cleared up a bit, so I headed out for a second walk. Just as I got back, I saw the neighbor with B and I gave B all the cuddles. I decided to walk along with them for their walk, so when I finally got back home again, I was a tad tired. But, I also had a good and longer walk, so I could take it a bit easier for the rest of the day.
Dad got up and texted me. I got the info I needed to order the laptops that I found. Dad wanted two new laptops, not too expensive, oe for him and one for me. He had some wishes and with that, I was able to find one (https://www.samsung.com/nl/computers/galaxy-book/galaxy-book4-15-6-inch-i5-16gb-512gb-np750xgk-kg3nl/ ) that was suitable and within the fund limits. I was glad to have been able to find these, and they had a sale going as well. As dad wanted to have a LAN connection, and many modern (simple) laptops don't support the port anymore. So to find one with all he asked for within the price range... Yay me... I ordered all that dad asked me to, and we'll head out to the store on Thursday afternoon to pick it all up.
I tried to relax a bit and then I started to work on some other new blog posts. I made my warm food, and after that, I headed out for one more walk. There was a parcel coming in the afternoon, so I could not head out after this walk. I used my tablet and kept writing for my blog. My parcel came, I got ready for bed and all that, and when I put away the tablet, I had 3 more posts done for this week. And the journal post was done as well, so all was ready for some good sleep.
I got as comfy as possible and grabbed my eReader. It didn't take too long to doze off. Unfortunately, I did wake up a few times during the night, and I had some night sweats as well. But, I woke up around 1:40, so 20 minutes before my alarm was set to go off... Ready to start a new day.

It's 7AM here and I've been awake for a little while. I was sore when I got up, but I think my painkillers are slowly kicking in, so I shoud be able to help mum and then walk Basje in a bit. And, today mum and I will visit the Harley shop in Wetzlar, so I am really excited about that. My wallet is trying to hide at the moment as it knows it will need a diet when I've been at the HD place... :ablobcatangel:
I had a rather decent night, but when I woke up, I wanted to visit the loo and sleep some more. And then I saw it was 3 minutes before the alarm was set to go off. And I wanted to be ready in time, in case my mum would be ready earlier.
I think I will need to head to her room in a bit, so I will finish up this Toot and get going. I hope you will have a nice day, or that you are having a nice day!
I will add an image that AI made for me. I know folks dislike AI and I understand it all too well. I don't use it for meaningless bits. But I wanted to try the image thing on a new one that I was using last night, and together with the image I made for the crystal glass thingies that I want to make, it came up with this one... #Journal of a slightly more relaxed Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Sunday, 24/08/2025).
It was a bit of a bumpy night, as I had to find a way to be comfy in this bed. It's one with springs in the mattress and they're never my favorite ones... Especially now, with the hip not being all healed yet. And I did miss the handle above my head that I always used at home (with the bed in the living room) to pull myself up a bit when I need to reposition or get up. But I did manage to get a few hours of sleep. I got a sleep score of 91, which was very high for me considering how I thought I had slept that night. My energy score was at 84, which was good enough as well.
When I woke up, I got dressed and then I texted mum to ask how far she was. She texted that I could come over, so I did. And when she was ready, we headed out for walkies with Bas, with the baker as destination, so that we had some brekky and lunch that day. Unfortunately we had not been able to visit a supermarket on Saturday and many stores are still closed here on Sunday, so it was some bread without topping for me 😔 .
But mum, Bas and I had a nice walk, and a long one, as I had about 3k steps when we got back from the walk. We ate some brekky and then I went to my room where I wrote two journal toots. Then I finally emailed a good friend. After a while, I went out to walk with Bas again, a slightly shorter walk with about 2k steps.
I ate my other bun and went back to the room, where I played a bit with some snaps. I saw that I didn't add all my Arwen snaps to my Flickr, so I am slowly trying to add some more of the older ones. Around 12:30, mum and I walked tot the Pizzaria with Bas. Mum went inside to see if they still had a table available for 3 for that evening. She got us a table and then we walked another way round back to the rooms again.
I went back to my room and wrote a bit for my blog, as I didn't have a post lined up yet for the Monday. Around 15, I walked another round with Bas, a shorter one this time, so he would be OK for a while when we'd be out for dinner. I worked some more on my blog and around 17, we headed to the Pizzaria (again 😉). We had a very nice meal and it tasted really well. The price for the 3 pizzas and drinks was also very reasonable, so that was nice too.
We got back again and I walked with Bas once more before I headed to my room to relax. I was rather tired after this day. But I also made it to 11,9k steps, so I think I did rather well. I finished my blog post and then I wanted to read a bit. But before I knew it, I was dozing off already around 21:30.
I woke up a few times during the night as I had some very weird dreams. But in the end, I had slept about 7,5 hours when I woke up again and my body told me it was time to start the new day.

I've had a productive day. At least, I wrote my two journal toots, I finally emailed my good friend, and I finished a blog post for tomorrow. And... I had several good walkies with Sir Little Noise™, the first and longest one with mum as well, and all in all, I got the most steps today since my surgery! Currently my watch shows me I'm at 11.845 steps, or 8,82km. So not too shabby at all!
I showered 🚿 as well, yay me! And I saw how bruised my hip area still is, even after almost 8 weeks... 🫣 I'll include a crappy snap, and I'll CW it, just in case... Hopefully @npub12dn…0hjt can help with a decent description. 😊
Then, we had a nice dinner at a local pizza place. :blobCat_pizza: yay!
Tomorrow morning, mum and I head out in time for some well needed groceries. I think dad wanted to visit some shops later on as well, so let's see how things will go... 😊
I'll go and read some on my eReader and maybe I'll be able to doze off a bit? But the fridge just started cooling again and damn, that thing is loud... :ablobcatgoogly:

Just walked another nice walk with Bas, we managed about 2000 steps together. :annoyingdog:
Dad seemed to be in a wee bit of a better mood and wanted me to look for a cheap laptop replacement for him. And if I could find one that would do, maybe I could order one for myself too, as I had been struggling with my old laptop so much... 🤔 So first, I have to much screen time and now... He wants to give me another screen??? 😂 I just don't know what is up with him at times...
But I tried to find something within his budget. It's a lower budget but it should work for the simple things that he wants to do. And for other things, he can still use the old laptop or pc. I shared the link with him so he can find out more about it.
Just a quick ello here and then I will try to *finally* reply to an email of a sweet friend... He's been waiting for a while now (sorry about that! 🫣 I got a bit busy).
I took a few snaps with Bas during the walk, though nothing too exciting. I did see a car with a license plate that made me giggle (I know, I am a child trapped in an ancient and broken down body!), so I will share that here now. And let's see if @npub12dn…0hjt can make something nice for the descriptive text for me...

#Journal of a busy Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Thursday, 21/08/2025).
Bas was rather restless during the night, so I didn't have the best night due to his feelings of anxiety in some way. I did manage a sleep score of 83, which was "good". According to my watch, I managed to sleep about 7:20, so it wasn't too bad, time wise. I was just feeling a tad tired due to Bas being restless at times. I got a rather good energy score though, as it went 5 points up to 91! Which was "excellent" according to the app. 😊 So hopefully today would go well, and all that... As it would be a busy day today.
When I got up, I got to the scale. And then I prepared everything for brekky, got dressed and then I had brekky. After that, I took mum's things to Skoosh, as she was going back to Nijmegen with Bas. When mum was ready, we drove to Nijmegen. We unloaded the car and then we got ready to head to Germany for some more groceries.
It was the first time that I drove in my parents "new" car, so I had to get used to the controls. It wasn't that different from all the other Toyota's, but the display was different and all that, so I had to get used to using this one and finding out how to "hold" the gas so I would not speed, and all that. But wel made it to the stores all safe and sound. We filled up the tank, so we can drive to Greifenstein this Saturday. Mum and I had been to Appie after the hospital visit on Tuesday, so we only needed the German shops this time.
I helped mum clearing out the groceries. And then I walked a short round with Bas, before I went back to Herpen. It was a bit scary to drive alone for the first time, and I hoped that things would go well. But I managed and all went well.
I cleaned up my groceries. I started a load in the washing machine and I started the dishwasher as well. So most could be clean before I'd go on vacation this Saturday. I hung the laundry and then I got my headphones and headed out for a walk. Have to keep practicing, even though it feels strange to walk just to walk. I miss having a "purpose", like walking to a store, or walking with the dog... But I had my music, which I started listening to again after several weeks without it...
After the walk, I tried to write my journal toot, an email, and for my blog. I tried to distract myself from the loneliness that I was feeling now, without a dog or other human in the house. I felt like I kept hearing little paws (dogs paws mind you, not rats or something 😂 ) walking through the room. It made me sad and I had a good sobfest. It's been almost 7 weeks and I still miss her every day. She was just such an important part of my life... 😢
I fixed myself some food and after dinner, I got my headphones again and went for another short walk. I wrote a bit more, and played a bit with some photo editing, and then I was very tired. I took my meds and watched some TV. Dozed off for a while, then I woke up again and got ready to actually sleep.
I had a very restless night. I did sleep some, even on my left side, but I had the weirdest dreams and woke up a few times feeling sweaty and weird... So when I got up, I felt a tad tired still, but it would have to do to prepare myself for the upcoming vacation. I went to the scale, got dressed, and walked a short round... Ready to start the day...

#Journal of a slightly sad Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Wednesday, 20/08/2025)
Well, I have to admit, to me, last night was a very good one! I fell asleep with Bas rather quickly and didn't wake till about 4am, when Bas woke up when he heard mum come down for the loo. I went to the loo as well, and then back to bed. Bas snuggled up again, and we slept some more. Mum came back down and walked with Bas. When they were back, I slowly got up and prepared everything for brekky.
But I had a good night, as my watch told me that I had slept for almost 9 hours in total! I started with dozing on and off a bit while we were watching telly, then I slept much in one go, I woke up for the loo, I woke when mum took Bas for walkies and then I got up when they got back again. My sleep score was very excited about it all, as it gave me 22 more points than the previous night, getting me to an "excellent" of 87 points. My energy score was excellent as well, with a score of 86.
After brekky I got ready to walk with Bas. I tried to relax a bit while writing my morning toot and an email to a sweet friend. Then I wanted to walk Bas before we had to leave to head to Cuijk for my physio. I drove us there and it went well enough. The treatment was a bit painful but also very nice, as there was a lot that needed some TLC in my back and neck area. I drove us back to Herpen again.
I walked a short bit with Bas before we relaxed with some telly. Mum and I watched some of the Defenders, and I tried to write a bit for my blog. Then I walked a bit with Bas again. Made him his dinner and then I made dinner for mum and myself. I walked one more short round with Bas and then I changed to relax on/in bed.
While we watched some telly, I kept dozing on and off again. I tried to prepare everything for bed time, so if I would fall asleep, it would all be ready. When mum went to bed, Bas got all anxious and I could not understand what was wrong. It took some time before he finally relaxed a bit again and snuggled up for some sleep.
I woke up a few times during the night, as Bas still was restless from time to time. When mum came down to walk with Bas, I got up as well and started my day.

#Journal of an exhausted Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Monday, 18/08/2025).
Thanks to my leg, I had the most rubbish night. The dissipating hematoma still has some edema floating around, and some last bruising that's still tighter and swollen. Every time I wanted to lay on my right side, the bits in my leg would press against one of the bigger muscles, and that muscle would then cramp up some. It was rather painful and when it happened, I had to get up to stretch the leg and get the muscle to calm down again. In the end, I had to sleep on my back, with the head rest popped up some, and a pillow under my right knee. It was a rubbish night, even though the watch said that I got some sleep here and there. Because I had slept a little while we were watching TV, my total sleep time did get to 7 hours, but I didn't feel rested at all. I got a sleep score of 60, which is fair, and a rather high energy score of 87, which they called excellent. But that was mostly due to the activities that I had been doing during the previous day.
I got up, feeling rather sore and broken, and got dressed. Fixed some brekky and after that, I got ready for walkies with Basje. He wanted the longer walkies, but as I was rather sore, and the pathway of that walk wasn't too easy to manouvre, I guided him to another way. Still, we walked a longer walk, so he got all his stiffs and pees in... When we got back, I went upstairs for a bit to work on my PC. I took Bas upstairs with me, so he would not be alone while I did some work on my blog and journal and such. After a while, we headed back down.
We relaxed for a short while and then it was time to go out for walkies again. As I was a wee bit tired, we walked a little shorter round this time. Basje got some more sniffs and all in, and he seemed like a happy doggo. I had to finish something on the PC, and then I headed back down to relax a bit. Bas joined me for a bit, and all went well. I was finishing up something on my tablet when it was time for another walkies. Bas wasn't too pleased, as it was definitely time for his walkies. (He adjusted to that rather quickly... 😉 ).
Bas and I went for a longer walk again. We had just gotten bacl and got on the bed to relax a bit, when mum came back home. Mum made Bas his dinner and then I made dinner for mum and myself. We watched some telly and then Bas got a bit restless. So we went on an earlier walkies together and then I got ready to really relax in bed. We watched more telly while I tried to be comfortable. I was hoping that I could get a better night this time around.
Mum walked with Bas and I prepped everything for the next morning. I found a way to be a bit more comfortable in bed, and then Bas wanted to join me, but he couldn't. I checked him out and found out that he had a small twig with some fort of thorns in his fur. I got it out and helped him n the bed.
I almost dozed off and then Bas made some silly sound, so I was awake again. After a while I got comfy again and managed to doze off for a few times. I didn't get too much sleep, just over 5 hours in total, but as I had been able to lay on my right side more, I was less sore when I got up again in the morning.

Well, it's not been a too bad day, after a rubbish night... I would want to tell you all about it, but as I am rather tired, and I do need some sleep (or time to at least attempt to get some sleep)...
Today I did all I could to "help" my leg to relax and recover. And I was able to lie on my right side for a bit during the evening. When I tried to switch to the right side to get comfy for sleep... The muscle acted up again! :parrot_sad:
So yeah, why can I be decently comfy when watching telly but when I wanna sleep... The stupid edema/hematoma remains decide to push against the big muscle and make me very uncomfortable...?
I'll send this Toot and then try again to get comfy enough to get some sleep :kirby_sleep: We have an important appointment tomorrow to I'd like to be a bit more rested... (and be in less pain for the night).
Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 for some decent sleep... 🍀

#Journal of a slightly busy but OK enough Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Saturday, 16/08/2025).
I wanted to get up in the morning after mum had walked with Bas, but I dozed off again and then woke up just after 8. Because of that extra snooze, I got to about 7,5 hours of sleep last night, with a sleep score of only 63. My energy score was higher though, with 86, being "excellent". So it was a bit of a mix, sleep and energy wise. I got up, got dressed, and had brekky. Mum went to Nijmegen for groceries and chores, and I took Bas out for the 9am walkies.
Bas was very enthusiastic and he wanted a longer walkies, which we had not walked in the last few weeks. But the weather was good and I had some energy, so we went for the longer walk. Bas was very excited about that, so when we got back, he was a tad tired and eager for a snooze. I started cleaning the loo's and I got my tablet to work on my journal Toot. I was ready and wanted to answer an email by a friend, and then I got an update about the Ikea delivery of my chair.
I took out Sir Little Noise™ again for walkies, so that he'd be OK as we waited for the delivery van to come. I managed to finish the email and I worked on another blog post as well. The delivery time of the parcel was being delayed a bit, and I got a message that mum would be back a bit later as well.
The parcel had arrived and I had been working a bit on getting older journal texts into my journal app. Mum came back, so I helped her with the groceries. We walked with Bas together, and then watched a bit of telly before I started to make dinner. After dinner, we unpacked the big chair box and mum and I took all the items upstairs. Then, mum and I watched some more "Iron Fist" until it was time to walk with Bas again.
After that I changed clothes and tried to relax in bed. We watched more of the Iron Fist, while I also used my phone to keep working on the journal text copying. When I was done with a part of the texts, I tried to focus on getting all the right snaps added to tje journal entries. It seems like an easy thing to do, and it's not too hard, but it is time consuming...
I was almost done with the bit that I was aiming to do. I prepared everything for the next day and mum walked with Bas. She went up, and I finished adding the last bits of snaps before I tried to snooze a bit. After a while, Bas joined me on the bed, and I was able to fall asleep.

It's been quite a day! Managed to get some chores done. Got a new "record" amount of steps today, well, since the surgery that is. :annoyingdog: mostly thanks to decent weather and Sir Little Noise™ his help. Am at 9616 steps for today, which isn't that much, but considering the circumstances... I think it's quite nice! :ablobcatangel:
Mum and I brought the bits and bops of the new chair upstairs. Tomorrow, after a shower, we'll try to assemble the chair, so that I can use the pc for a while (if Bas will allow me to). Mum will be gone in the afternoon, as she and dad will visit a relative somewhere. So it will be Sir Little Noise™ and me again for a few hours.
I managed to get all the texts for February and March 2024 into the journal app, and I added the snaps that I had on my phone. Slowly I'm making it more complete. But for 2023, I only have a few text documents of the journal blog posts, so then I'll need to copy and paste through the website links, and that will take some more time... Ah well, it's keeping me busy...
It's almost midnight and Bas is already snoozing at my feet... Let's see if I can join him, as I could use some snoozes myself as well...

#Journal of a struggling Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Wednesdayy, 13/08/2025).
I didn't have the best night. I was tired enough, but due to my head being too busy with things, I struggled to be relaxed enough to get some sleep. So when I finally got around to sleep, it was later than I hoped, leaving less time to sleep. As I wanted to get up earlier, because mum had to leave early for her and dad's appointments. So I prepared everything for mum's brekky before I made mine. I got dressed and then mum helped me with my shoes before she headed out the door.
Bas was a little depressed with being left with me here, the horror! I make him go on walkies and I give him snacks and make sure he gets the cuddles he wants... How could mum every leave him with someone like me? 😂 But after a while he calmed down. I had worked on my journal Toot and written an email to a sweet friend. Then, I headed out with little Bas for a walk. It was already getting quite warm out.
After the walk, I decided to gather some laundry, as there were some towels that needed a nice washing up. I started the load, watched some telly, and when it was done, I slowly got the washing bin upstairs to hang it all out. I waited for a parcel to arrive, as I had ordered a new cover for the tablet, as the one I got first wasn't good enough (and I will need to send that back).
When the cover had arrived, I walked with Bas again. It was really getting warm now, so we tried to walk in the shade as much as we could. When we got back, I got to the bed to relax a little, as I was rather tired after the short and disrupted night.
Around 15, I walked another short round with Bas. I had tried to clean up as much as I could. And I wrote a bit for my blog when mum texted me that she was on her way back to us again. Bas was all happy to see mum again and after a bit, I started to make us dinner.
We watched some more of "Found", walked Bas once more, and then got back to some more telly watching. I fell asleep for a short while, as I was so tired. So when mum was ready to get to bed, and I had prepped everything for the next morning. So when I was ready to sleep some more, of course my brain got all excited and thought of all the things that I should be doing before I would try that sleeping thing again.
I was in for another short night, especially seeing it was 20 degrees C at the lowest with a very high humidity. So I was icky and sticky and didn't have the best sleep. Then, around 6:40, I thought I heard Bas. So when I sat on the side of the bed to check, it was indeed Bas and he wanted to go out. So I quickly got my pants, my crutch, and a jacket and headed out with Bas, just as mum was coming down.
And that's how I started my day...

Tried to start a new blog post for Wednesday, and I'll need to finish the journal blog post tomorrow (so it can be shared in Tuesday morning).
I'm in bed now, may try to write a bit for my blog before tyring to sleep (waiting for my meds to properly kick in, due to the hematoma's edema "balls" being in the way of getting comfortable for a snooze... 😔
Wonder when/if Sir Little Noise™ will join me on the bed soon...

It's been a busy morning, but all went rather well. Yay for that. :blobcatflower: I had a decent enough night, and my watch gave me a sleep score of 72, which they call "fair". It also told me that I slept about 7:30 in total last night, so that's not bad at all. My energy score was/is even more enthusiastic, as it gives me a whopping 95! All the different bits that combine to get the score, all but one say "excellent", only my sleep time consistency was at "good", but I guess that's due to the many broken nights that I have, varied with the few better ones every now and then...
I prepped everything for brekky. I worked a bit on my journal blog post on the laptop. I wrote the new journal toot. I ordered a new tablet, as the current one is very sweet and all, but it often freezes these days, due to low memory and storage. I had saved a bit, and I got some more money back from the energy and water bills, and the bill from the cremation was a little less high... So, all put together, I had some money set aside, and I was able to order myself a (simple) new one. It should be delivered next Tuesday, for which I am very excited. 😊 The old tablet is still good though, just not suitable for WordPress anymore (for me at least), as it keeps giving me errors (besides the freezing from time to time).
So when the new tablet arrives, and I have set it all up, I will reset the current one. I will put the apps on it that mum frequently uses, and then she can compare this tablet to her current one. If this one is better (to her) than her current one, it's very simple: mum gets the old one. :ablobcatangel:
I just had a shower. I had felt something hard at the end of my scar, but due to the ointment that mum put on it yesterday, I could not really see/feel what the hard thing was. After the shower, I carefully felt around the hard thing again and... I pulled out a short piece of suture thread! So yeah, I guess there is still some of it that hasn't self-dissolved and that is working it's way out, somehow. So yay, another bit gone. 😊
I will go and walk with Bas in a bit. And then mum and I will see if we can clear out the dinner table so the puzzle mat can be rolled out on it. There are two puzzles that mum can choose from... I've downloaded two images of the puzzles, and hopefully @npub12dn…0hjt can help with some descriptions. 🤞🏻
So well, let's go put on some shoes and walk with little Bas and then... Puzzle. 😊 It's been quite a while since I made a puzzle, so hopefully it will be fun. I am glad that I have been able to buy the mat, so we can (hopefully) easily store it when we need the table for other things.

#Journal of a slightly better rested Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Saturday, 09/08/2025).
I had woken up once during the night. I fell asleep after that, and slept quite a long time in one go, I was rested some more when I woke up again. I was stiff and a bit sore, from being in one position for a longer time, but aside from that... I got up and fixed everything for brekky. When mum got down, she could start right away. I made sure that I got dressed and mum could fasten my laces before she headed out.
I used my tablet to work on my journal Toot an I wrote an email to a sweet friend. Then it was time for a short walk with Bas. My right thumb was really annoying me, so I put on my push brace, and I only used the left crutch to walk with Bas. It was just a short walk and all went rather well. I wrote some more on my tablet. Then I decided to get some chores done.
I cleaned up the laundry that mum had taken down. I cleaned both of the loo's. I tried to sweep the hallway floor a bit, as the mats were rather sandy. I also tried to clean the sink and plateau thingie in the bathroom. After a wee bit of relaxing, I walked with Bas again. This time, he wanted a longer walkies. When we got back, I got to bed and relaxed some while I watched telly.
As my tablet is over 5,5 years old, and it wasn't the bestest one when I got it (funds and all), it is now slowly abandoning me. The memory and storage is almost full all the time, even with the memory card that I have in the slot. It's so slow at times, and sometimes it takes several tries before it wants to cooperate with what I want it to do. The tablet still looks great, the battery is decent enough as well. It's mostly the storage and little memory that keep messing up and are making me grumble. I know I could never afford a state of the art tablet, but I have been browsing a lot and found one within my range that should be a decent upgrade and, if all goes well, it should mean I can use a tablet again without grumbling so much... 🫣
I tried to write a little for my Monday blog post after I had checked several sites for the best prices for the tablet. It wasn't the easiest blog to write, but then, many of the posts I've written since July 4th have been more difficult, due to the situation and all... When mum texted me that she would be coming back later than originally planned, I made sure to get out again with Bas. I prepped everything for dinner, for when mum would be back.
Mum texted that she was coming our way, and when I saw the car pull up, I helped with the bags. I quickly got the bits in the freezer and fridge. Mum unpacked the rest, and I helped her by hanging some bits on the clothes rack. When mum and I were ready, I prepared dinner for us. We watched some Luke Cage while we ate. Mum let out Bas again, and then we relaxed while watching the telly.
I tried to write some more for Monday's upcoming blog post, but it was a sad one, so it was difficult to write. And I wanted to add many images and such, so it took some more time due to adding some alt texts to the snaps. Mum got ready to walk Bas a last time, and I prepped everything for the evening and next morning. Before I tried to sleep, I wanted to finish off the blog post first. When I tried to get comfortable, Bas decided to join me on the bed.
I woke up twice during the night, and then I managed to get some hours of sleep in. When I woke up again, I prepared everything for brekky for mum and me. Mum had already walked with Bas, so he was content and snoozing in the bid dog bed. So I made brekky and started my day...

It's been a "weird" day today, as things haven't gone as they "usually" go on a Thursday.
I didn't have the best day yesterday, and mum had some chores in Nijmegen today, so we thought it was best I would stay at home with Bas. I could take it easy and care for Sir Little Noise™, while mum could get the German groceries and do the chores at her home, without having to worry about little Sir. 🐾
I prepared everything for brekky, got dressed, so that it was all ready for when mum had to leave. I walked a short round with Bas, and after I did some writing, I walked a longer round with him. I got into something "indoor comfy" and did some chores. Mum was running a tad later, so I went out with Bas on my fake Crocs so he could do his thing. Prepped everything for dinner. Even changed my bedding, which was a challenge, but I did it.
When mum came back, she was tired, even more than I was. I fixed us dinner. Mum let Bas out for a quick walk, and we watched some telly. But mum kept nodding off, so I offered to let Bas out before bed, so she could go up a little earlier...
Mum has to get up rather early tomorrow morning, due to a hospital appointment of dad. And later in the afternoon, she needs to take me to a well needed/wanted physio appointment. So she'll have a long and busy day...
Mum went to bed, and I tried to get comfy in bed, while watching House. Before I knew it, Bas was already snuggling up against my legs. :blobcatlove: Around 22, I'll take the last meds and let little Sir out for a last bedtime wee. Brush teeth after that and then, hopefully, be able to get comfortable enough (maybe with Bas?) to get some sleep tonight.
I am glad I was able to take care of Bas. I was also glad that I could tackle several chores today. My head was pounding at times, due to the stupid muscles being too tight in my neck and shoulders... My leg was "changing" again, where the edema was "on the move", which was causing some very annoying (and painful) itching... But still... I did manage to care for Bas and do several chores.
I hope mum is having a good night, and hopefully Bas and I can have a good one soon too... 🤞🏻

Taking things a bit easier this morning. Headache is still annoyingly present. I *really* hope that the physio can make some change in that when I see him next Friday afternoon. Leg is annoying me enough that I don't need a blithering headache at all times added to it. I can take Ibuprofen again, as my blood thinners have been stopped for a few days now. And it helps for a while. But as the pain is caused by my muscles and (probably) a disc that needs some adjusting, I hope that physio will be giving more relief for a while than meds do at the moment. Is it Friday afternoon yet? 😔
Mum is busy in the garden, I'll fix her a light lunch in a bit. Bas was a bit annoyed with me, until I lay down on the bed and he could join me there (he only does that when mum isn't "reachable").
Mum made a new snap of my hip again. I edited it a bit, and it's not really gross. But it shows scars, some a bit more thick and red due to the hematoma and edema that's caused by said hematoma). And, of course, it shows the bruised bits, and some of the swelling/edema. It's not as "good" as the "live visual", but if people want to see why I'm still complaining about it... 😉 I'll CW it, just in case...
Ow and UPJ wanted to know about the size of the incision, so mum measured the scar, and it's 24cm, or about 9½inch, according to the measuring tape. Just so you know. 😇
Let's get off my big, and partially bruised, behind, and make my mum some well earned lunch! 😋

:alert: CW snaps: hematoma's & scar in hip area after two surgeries and a 5 hour long dislocation and then setting it. You have been warned. :blobcat_dizzy:
It's been quite a day. Mum and I did some groceries and we brought the used needles to the pharmacy (I needed a few shots after the second surgery). We had several walks with Sir Little Noise™, as UPJ calls him, or Weener Bas for us simple folks. :ablobcatangel:
My leg is sore, swollen, warm, and constantly pushing out more of the damned second hematoma. Still, mostly thanks to Bas, I managed to get about 8k of steps today. 🐾
Without my handful of pain meds😓, I would not be able to move much at all, let alone get some sleep. As I mentioned, the second hematoma is coming "through", and it comes with swellings that get into new positions every day, like the edema like swelling is constantly on the move... This means my skin can become quite tight and hard in places. And some of them are definitely harder than my usual skin temps. But, according to the hospital and the GP, as long as there's no fever and/or signs of infection, it's apparently all part of the healing process. And the hip area went through a huge bit of trauma, which will need quite some time to be able to heal up. 😔
So, to help that process, I need to keep moving as much as is wise. I need to use my cold packs every now and then. And I need some sleep as well. Sir Little Noise™ does his best with night time cuddles and snuggles. But without the meds/pain killers, I'd be a big mess!
Mum measured my latest scar, as UPJ was wondering about it's size... It's about 24cm, which came down to about 9,5inch, according to the measuring tape. I had estimated it at about 20cm, so it's even bigger than that. 🫣 The size of the current swollen area of the hematoma is even bigger/wider than that.
I used an edited snap of the first hematoma that came through for a blog post a while ago... I will add it here. It was made on 14/07. I'll ask mum to grab a new snap tomorrow, before she'll put the special ointment on (as it gives a while color to it all). I'll edit that snap then too, to make it a little less personal...

Waiting for the meds to kick in. 😊 When mum goes to bed, then hopefully Sir Little Noise™ will hop on the bed, give me a cuddle, and then snuggle up so we can hopefully have a few hours of snoozing together.

Am working on finishing a blog post that should be going live this Monday.
It's based on/started with what happened last night. Where I started to drift off to sleep, and the first thing I "saw" was one of the two saddest last memories that I have from Arwen's last hours... :parrot_sad:
While I wrote the post, I cried a lot... And still, I kept on writing...
I had to get the words out of my mind. I have to find a way to work on the stages of grief. And I know that my grief is deep, and due to the other huge trauma that happened that same week... I feel like it hit me even harder, as I was more vulnerable when she passed away...
So yeah, I need to finish the blog now, as I want to edit and add some snaps of my gall to it.
I'm sure I'll boost the link when it goes live on Monday morning. But... It could be a triggering one, I guess, due to all the sadness in it... :parrot_sad:
It feels weird to say that it feels good to cry about it. I hate the snotty bits, I hate the way it makes my head feel, but... I need to allow myself to let it out. And part of that is by crying as much as I need, hopefully in times and places where it won't attract too much unwanted attention...
It's been a little over four weeks and even with Bas snuggling against my foot now, I still miss that big brown furball so much... 💔
I'll let @npub12dn…0hjt help me for now, as my eyes are struggling and if I need to go into detail too much, I'll probably end up crying too much as it will alert mum then. And I know she'll understand, but yeah, I want this to me my way if grieving... If that makes sense... 😔

I managed to get some sleep tonight, but I still have a headache due to my tinnitus being crazy! We called the GP. And the assistant will see me at 13:55. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 she'll be able to help me with the sutures... After that, mum and I will return a parcel to the postal service.
Mum and I went for a short walk this morning. And now I'm on the bed with an ice pack. Some parts of the scar are just so warm and sore (mostly where er think there could be sutures stuck under it).
I'll try to write my journal Toot in a bit. And I want to reply to an email by a sweet friend. Hopefully the headache and tinnitus will calm down a bit soon. And hopefully the ice pack will help a bit as well... Ugh... Guess I won't be able to do much else today. It's all bläh... 😔

Well, it's been a day... After taking an extra painkiller, I managed to have a proper night. Not good yet, but, when compared to most of the nights of the past few weeks... It was a great night even!
As we didn't have Bas go take care of, mum got a lie in as well, so we both were up a little later. When we were dressed and fed, we went for a little walk. Which was a bit painful, partially due to the fabric of my pants rubbing on some sore bits. But also because my left hand thumb, the one with the two messed up surgeries, is starting to get more painful when walking with the crutches.
I wrote my journal Toot and then I had to relax some. I was getting some dizzy spells, checked my blood pressure and it was good, checked my temperature and it was within the recent numbers as well... After some relaxing, mum helped me to shower. Then, I wrote an email to a sweet friend. And I had to relax with my ice pack again. 😔
I had wanted to write a new blog post but I struggled with focusing on my screen. So that's a "chore" I'll have to do tomorrow (or tonight if I can't sleep).
Hopefully I'll be able to sleep some more tonight. Using the repellent to keep the buzzing terrorists at bay. I've taken an extra painkiller again. But the sore spots have changed a bit again, so I'll have to try to find a new way to get comfortable...
Tomorrow morning, first thing mum and I will need to do is call the GP to get me an appointment, as the situation with the stitches needs to be sorted ASAP... Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 they'll have a spot that day...

:parrot_sad: that moment when you realize that your eyes are leaking... And you're reminded of the night you spent two weeks ago... Where you were in physical pain. And slowly realizing that your biggest love is struggling so hard that it hurts you deep inside... :parrot_sad:
Two weeks ago, I was struggling with the trauma of the dislocated hip and the surgery that followed.
While I could not sleep, I noticed Arwen's discomfort growing. I saw the sadness in her eyes. I cried most of the night, knowing that our journey was coming to an end. Knowing I had to keep my promise to her.
I can't believe that in about 10 hours from now, it's been two weeks since my gall passed away with my mum and me at her side.
I'm blessed during this night, as Bas is lying against my legs, sharing his calming energy with me. 💜
These last three weeks have been hard. And so painful. But I've also felt so loved. I've also been so grateful...
I got to spend almost 12 years with this wonderful soul. The last almost 7 years of it, it was just her and me against the world. We made it through the darkest times. We made good memories during the better times.
They say that the first few weeks are usually the hardest. I hope it will become less painful with time. I'll never miss her less, but maybe the memories may bring me a smile instead of all these tears, as time passes by...
I've felt grateful to Arwen for allowing me to be her soulmate.
I've felt (and still feel) grateful for all the help from everyone here, making sure that I could bring Arwen home again.
I'm grateful for my mum being with me, helping me, and for her bringing Bas along every now and then for some loving snuggles.
And I'm grateful for two sweet friends, who changed their plans at the last minute, so they can come to me this Saturday, to help me with "Arwen's shelf". :bear_love:
Writing all this down has helped me to calm down again. I'll share an older snap of Arwen. I may have shared it before... I can't remember. Hopefully @npub12dn…0hjt can help me, as I want to add Alt text, but I don't want to get too emotional again.

Made it through the day. It had some ups and downs... Considering the circumstances...
I was able to work on some difficult journal posts, and I edited a few snaps of my dearly departed wonderful gall... 💔
Mum and I walked a short round, went to Lidl and finished The Discovery of Witches.
I took a heavier painkiller, as some annoying pains were troubling me during the day. So hopefully the little oxy will help me sleep a bit soon.
I'm tired enough, but I struggle to get comfortable enough. And there is still that fear that something could go wrong. Plus... Missing the background sounds of a snoring loved one. I could always calm myself when I heard her snoozes near me... 😢
Hopefully I can get some sleep soon. Tomorrow they'll call from the hospital to check up on me. I need to discuss the pains that I can't really place, and the fact that my feet are still swollen some. Even though I've not taken the naproxen anymore and my feet have been up for a while. After the call, I should have my first physio appointment. Well, it should have been the second, but last Monday, my hip unfortunately had more painful plans... Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that the call and physio can both help me to start feeling a bit more confident again.
Thank you to all that helped me these last few days. :bear_love: the words of comfort, sharing how Arwen used to make you smile... Boosting my mutual aid request. Funding it so that I will be able to pay all the bills when Arwen's remains are ready to be taken home. I've not been sharing my journal toots since all the bad things happening. The last journal Toot I wrote was on Thursday morning, about Wednesday. Of course, Friday all my life as I knew it stopped, so my head hasn't been in it really. I've been struggling with sleep. The GP gave me some sleeping meds, and they helped me relax a bit, but they also made me very drowsy and unable to really be online/write here or for my blog.
Mum will go to Nijmegen for a bit, as she needs to iron her laundry. So I will be here on my own for a while. I will try to write. I will try to clear my head, and probably cry my eyes out some, as I write about the events of the last few days.
I want to thank you all for your help! You have been helping me with the funds to get Arwen home again. There is no GoFundMe as I didn't have the energy to set one up. There is a Toot pinned on my wall with all the info on the funds needed and how much you all have raised for me and Arwen. Last numbers are: €271/€502,75

Then she will be home again... A sweet friend has offered to help me hang a shelve so that she can have her own special place in the house.

Sadly, Arwen passed away yesterday morning. She had a tumor on her heart and she was suffering, so she deserved to end that, and sleep forever. When she passed, she took a big piece of my heart with her.
Several months ago, I had a GoFundMe for her costs of cremation and an urn. I had saved that money, but... It turns out I need some more now. And I'm ashamed to ask, but I really do want to get Arwen home as quick as possible.
Last April, you sweet lovely folks helped me gather €400. So that's my starting funds. Unfortunately, laat month, I spend €187+82, on medical costs for her, so my piggy bank has been depleted.
The vet where Arwen passed has a good connection with a different animal funeral service. But they were very helpful and I was just overwhelmed. So, to keep things easy at a time like that, mum and I decided to use their services.
Unfortunately, this means that the costs will be higher than what I had put aside, thanks to your help.
The cremation will be €425.
The urn that mum and I chose was €194.
There are €45 costs of picking up Arwen and bringing back the urn.
And I don't know the vet costs yet, but I recon they may be around €238,75 (edited, I just got the bill).
Some friends have already told me they wanna help. For which I'm super grateful. But, I now need to hang my head in shame, and grumble down, and ask for your help with Arwen's costs one last time...
Total costs will be € 902,75. I already had the €400 from the previous GoFundMe. Which leaves ± €502,75 to go...
I know times are hard on us all. Please don't be ashamed if you're not able to donate. Boosting is just as welcome. I appreciate all your support in any way, and I'm ashamed that I need to ask for more help, after so many already came through for me during my previous begging toots. :parrot_sad:

I'm still not all back and still need to check all the notifications. But I wanted to.say good morning.
Had a decent sleep. Went to the loo my by self on my crutches, which went well.
Im probably getting a room mate today, so I would not mind if they could send me home today. Having a room to myself surely helped with getting more rest. 😊
Pain is manageable. Today they'll take a new xray and I'll see the physio again. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that all goes well with both.

Hmmm 🤔 one of the downsides of surgery...
From a week up to the surgery, you're not allowed to shave (due to getting wounds). But... Now, I have these rules I have to follow, which mean... I can't shave!
We're heading for very *very* warm days and my legs (among others 😂) look like I'm related to Arwen. 😂
And, my right leg is still pinkish in some spots as well.
Definitely rocking the summer glamour look! :bowie_stardust: hahaha
Well, rather look weird in shorts than smell and sweat in normal pants! The forecast for the next few days is wild! 🥵

#Journal of a mostly drowsy Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Saturday, 14/06/2025).
It was a weird night. I woke up every two to three hours. Either for the loo, or because I was getting a tad sore. And around 3, they wheeled someone into the room, which is never the best sign... I dozed, on and off, until it was time to get up. I got brekky and then I took my meds. After that, I got help to the bathroom for some freshening up.
They moved my bed and added a chair for me. They were very busy with the young lady in the room. As I wanted to give them some privacy, I used my headphones to watch series on my phone.
Then the physio came and she observed that I knew it all already. 😂 As was to be expected. She was pleased with the results. Back in the room, I had to get to the bed, so they could take me to radiology. The xrays went fast too, as I knew what to do there as well.
Back to the room again. I watched my series some more, and then mum came. There was talk of me going home today already! Which was unexpected but also very positive.
But then also came the bad news. The help I thought I had arranged got denied. So... No help for my socks and shoes and jabs. Well, I would be given pills instead of the jabs. They had some downsides. But it meant no needles. But yeah, the shoes and socks could be a thing...
There was also good news on the new cup! With the one they used now, I don't have to be 100% off my leg for 6 weeks. With the physio, I am allowed to make a plan to get into the rehab bit by bit... Yay! But it also means I can do some more things a bit easier on my own. 😊
The surgeon (another one that didn't do the OP) talked it all through with me and my mum. And then... The wait began! We needed to get the discharge papers. And the prescription for the meds. Unfortunately, it took 2½ hours to get those papers! And then, we needed to wait a bit at the pharmacy.
Arwen and Bas were very glad to see me again. 😊 Mum and I went for a short walk with the dogs, so Arwen could do her things before we drove to Herpen.
When everything was unpacked, mum and I walked another short walk with Arwen and she did all she could. Yay for that! Mum went home after that, and I tried to relax a bit.
But my new watch had arrived and I was eager to play with it. So, of course, that's what I did first. 😇 Although I did do it while lying on the bed.
I dozed off for a bit while watching TV. Then I made myself some noodles. Some more relaxing with a wee bit of snoozing. Then it was time for both Arwen and my meds. I took Arwen our for one last wee. Took my other meds and brushed my teeth. And then I tried to sleep a bit.
I slept on and off for about 2-3 hours. Just like the previous night. Then I was awake for a bit, and I tried to write my Friday journal Toot. 😊 Some more snoozing after that, until it was time to get dressed and start the new day.

The OP went well, or so they said. I went to the OR around 8:10, and really started waking up around 11:30. Went to the room around noon
Then I had to wait three hours for my mum 😔 as she had my phone...
Now I have it but looking at the screen to type is challenging.
I'll ask @npub12dn…0hjt to help with the puncture that mum took of me, as I'm way too fuzzy for that.
Thanks for all the well wishes. I'll check my notifications soon as I'm having loads of trouble with my focus.

#Journal of a slightly stressed Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Thursday, 12/06/2025).
I woke up about 40 minutes to the alarm. I gave Arwen her meds and then I got to the scale and dressed myself after that. We went out so she could do her things. I took my meds, and then I prepped Arwen's meal. I got my bag and headed to the gym for the last time in some weeks to come... 😢 I'm sure I'm going to miss that... But, this surgery should make sure that I can get better again and workout with less to no discomforts. My leg giving out so often is no fun at all. 😔
I got to the gym, and tried to answer the messages I had. Enjoyed my protein shake, and then I got to the seated bike. My leg wasn't enthusiastic. After twenty minutes, it already started to tingle. Probably thought it had done enough and that it was time for that surgery! 😂 After ten minutes in the massage chair, I said my "goodbye" to the gym for the next 6-8 weeks. It will be hard not to be able to go... 😔
I headed back home, washed up, had brekky. Then Arwen and I headed out for short walkies. There was a beautiful moon. Later I learned that it was called the Strawberry 🍓 Moon, https://www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/moon/strawberry.html, and I read that it would be one where the moon would be closest to earth for some years to come (https://www.space.com/stargazing/junes-full-strawberry-moon-illuminates-the-night-sky-next-week-heres-how-to-see-it).
We got back and I started to prepare some more things. I went upstairs to work on my blog a bit. I prepared the washing machine so it could run this morning. I started to cut the leek and mushrooms for the pasta sauce I was going to make. I didn't have onions, so I would have to get one when the store opens.
I wrote a bit for my blog and I wrote a long message to a sweet friend. A very long message! 😂 Then I sorted my meds and I checked my beauty case so I would have all that I need in the hospital. I got my crutches down, and I sorted through some stuff. Like getting the recycling ♻️ things in the right bins and boxes, and filling the boxes of Arwen's snacks... Little things that will be helpful when I am restricted with the crutches.
After the 6 o'clock walkies, I started the washing machine. I was hanging up the bits when bestie called on her way to work, so we had a nice chat. Then I got ready to walk to the store. I got the onions, and headed back. When I wanted to go to the vet to pick up Arwen's meds, she had to join me. So, I took her along. She waited in the car while I got the meds, and then we got back home again.
We went for walkies, and met up with N&B. Which pleased Arwen to bits! 😇 We got back, and I cut up the onion. I cut the other two as well, and put them in the freezer in a bag. Mum can use them for her sauce as well. Otherwise they'd just be getting bad... Then, I started to clean up the couch. My neighbor texted that they were getting ready to come over. Yay! They helped me with the couch. Then I showed the bits of the house that are going manky, as they wanted to compare a bit. They left and I made the bed.
Then I got all the things for the sauce and started preparing that. I had it all done and cooling off in bins when I saw the truck pull up with the bed. The guy set it all up, he was very nice and then he headed to the next customer. I made the bed and then I relaxed for a bit.
Arwen and I had a short walkies with N&B. Then, things were a bit different because I wanted to go to bed later so I could sleep a little longer. I watched telly and chatted with a friend. But it was hard to keep awake and Arwen was wondering why the snacks didn't come! 😂
Around 17, I let Arwen out for the last wee and then I got to bed. It took a while to fall asleep. I woke around 20, needing the loo and being sweaty. It was a warm night! Then I woke up again around 23. So I went to the loo again and made use of the time to give Arwen her meds. I tried to sleep again, and I got a wee bit in, but around 23:45 I was awake again and my body was all tense. So, I got up and ready for a long night...

We're back for a last SniffiVerse™ walkies for now... Tomorrow we'll have a different time schedule and after that, it will be a lot different for many weeks... Which will be quite a challenge. Mostly for me!
I'll definitely miss taking the selfies with Arwen and walking through the night when it's peaceful and quiet... 🌕
Tried to take a snap of the moon, but my phone's AI was overdoing it a little so only got one kinda decent snap. Which I edited to share. 😊
Tonight will be busy. I'll work on my blog first. Then I'll refill all the boxes with Arwen's snacks. I'll try to clean some more. When it's later, I'll run the washing machine and then I'll hang it all. Hopefully it will be dry before I need to leave tomorrow morning. I'll need to visit a store for some onions for the pasta sauce as we forgot those yesterday... 😔 Then onwards to the vet to pick up Arwen's meds. Around ten, my neighbors will come to help me with my couch, so I need to have that clean and have the space available for it... Between 11-15 they should come with the bed. Let's hope they'll be early, so that I can make the bed and that I have some space to relax in between. 😊
Tomorrow, I need to be at the hospital at 7. My parents live near the hospital, but mum wanted to get there around 6:30, so we can park and head to the ward in time. So we'll need to leave the house around 5:30. I'll make sure that Arwen will have had her walkies and meds, and I'll do my best to remember that I'm not allowed to eat! 🫣
Busy day today, but after the hospital, I'll have "plenty of time" to relax. 😂 Have to see it in a positive way I guess.
Let's send off this Toot and see if I can work a bit on my blog or something....

Well, I've slowly been trying to prepare some future posts to be scheduled on my blog site. I have managed to post a consecutive post now for over 1820 days, and I would not want to break that streak. The only posts that I can't schedule ahead are, of course, the journal ones. So, I will have to try to keep up with them... Hopefully, I can.
I will need to use the Linux laptop again for those posts, as long as I am downstairs without the PC. I have tried to work with it, but I keep struggling with some things, that come automatically for me when I use windows. My autistic brain just likes things to be as it has known it for many years now, I guess...
This is the list that I have scheduled now. I hope that @npub12dn…0hjt can help me with this, because I suck writing texts for this kind of images. Of course, posts can be changed, especially when other things pop up before they've been scheduled.
Anywhoo, I think I have earned some relaxing on the couch now. Today will be a busy day with shopping, so hopefully all will go well.

We're back on another adventure :kirby_walk:. It's dry and not too cold with 10°C. I'm asking Arwen to go to a certain spot and then we'll she how she wants to proceed. When I drove home, I saw something lying in the street. I saw it too late to safely stop, so I wanna walk by it now and clean it off the street if it's still there...
It's a bright night for now and the moon is almost full. I tried to get a decent snap of it and edited it to go with this Toot. 😊
Today should be a busy day, as we'll head to Germany for groceries. I have to make sure to get some things that I can use once. I'm dismissed from the hospital. Easy meals and drinks and all that. As I can't just walk to the store by myself and get what I need. At least, not during the first few weeks. When I can walk more with my two crutches, then I should be able to get some lighter things.

We're back on another adventure :kirby_walk: it's dry this time, but a bit colder with "only" 9°C at the moment. But I'm glad that it's dry for now.
Let's see which walkies Arwen will want tonight. I'll just follow... 😊
I tried my best at the gym. Had 8 minutes in the cross-trainer. Then ten on the treadmill. Followed by 20 minutes on the seated bike. Then, my leg had enough and gave out. After a nice massage in the chair, I headed back home again.
Today should be OK enough, with some cleaning chores that I want to tackle... Slowly, but surely, preparing for the upcoming surgery, and the recovery time after that.
Let's see if I can write a little bit for my blog during the walkies. And I'll try to work on my blog when we get back home again. I still want to try to have some more posts scheduled, so that I don't have to "stress" about posting something daily. I know I could just try to send a small update and that would count as a post. But, somehow, I feel my posts should be more than that, if that makes sense 🤔...
I tried to get some snaps of the moon, but the camera had some issues with the focus. But I got one decent one, so I slightly edited that one to add to this Toot.

I is back for a bit. 🌸 We only walked a short round. Arwen was feeling a bit bläh as well, but she did do all she needed, and got some sniffs in.
I have been struggling a bit with apps these days, especially since I switched phones. I was hoping that most of my logins these days were saved in the special app that Samsung has for it. But, somehow, some passwords weren't accepted, and when I tried to change the passwords via email request, things haven't been working.
The error I have had with PayPal on two accounts now, has happened again... :blobcatverysad: I have called with them, yesterday, again... And they thought it was my VPN. But when I switched that off, I still got the same errors. I can't receive a reset email from the website itself, as it won't allow my email, I keep getting errors. When they send me an email by hand, I do get it. And within ten seconds of pressing the link, it will tell me that the link has expired. Even though that should take up to ten minutes before it happens... They didn't understand it either... So, I fear that I may need to change my account *again* and then they can transfer the funds... Again... But that means I need to change my PayPal links everywhere and I need to wait even longer before I can access the money. And, I do need it if I wanna get Arwen's meds before my surgery next week....
Yes! Next week I will be going to the hospital today... Yikes! :ablobcatblinkhyper:
The other issue I had was with Matrix. I wanted to login to the Element app on my new phone. But... The saved password wasn't accepted. I requested several reset emails, and I never got them... And yeah, I did check the spam folder... 😉 So I emailed them about it, got an automated reply, and am waiting for a follow up still. I just created a second account, as I wanted to be in the group chat with my friends from my phone as well... Ugh...
And... I got all the settings right in my Flickr 📸 account. And then, the automated uploads took ages... Even though all the settings were alright and the images were just small ones in a jpg format. So I contacted them as well, and I got a follow up email, which I will need to follow up on now.
Hopefully, today will be a relaxing day. I will need to get to the treadmill for a while, as I only had a short walk with Arwen, and I didn't do too much at the gym as I was feeling bläh. I'll need to head to the PC first, and work a bit on my blog. And then, let's see if I can change my clothes for a bit and walk the mill then...
I am also hoping to get some gaming in today with a very sweet friend. I am charging the controller and headphones now, and I will log on to the purple beast later so I can grab the download. Then, I will be all ready to play when my friend texts me when she's ready to go. :blahaj_gamer:

It's one of those nights again... I want to do all these things, and my brain can't decide, and my body just wants to relax and do nothing except be a couch potato...
We did walk the longer walk tonight, so we got some extra steps in, which was great. But now, I want to write. I want to exercise. And... I want to chill out. And I need to do something, because my brain isn't allowing the resting yet... Isn't it great when your mental health issues clash so much and so often with the physical health ones? Ugh....:bowie_stardust:
I *know* that in 11 days, I will *need* to relax more than I'd like. It's a 6 week halt to me being active. And I'm already dreading the crash that my body and brain will experience...
So yeah, I guess I will try to do now what I wanted to do during walkies with Arwen. I edited 4 old AI images that I made, so that they're "new" again for a re-use. I now need to find some texts. I know I have written many book quote posts so far, and I fear that sometimes I will repeat them, as I don't have the spoons (or means) to check the ones that I've already used in the past. But hey, I am reusing edited images as backgrounds, so that's new at least. And, I am getting the most out of the energy AI used to create the "original" images that I am recycling ♻️ now... 😇
Tally ho and all that, let's see if I can create four new posts with the newly made images. And, I do hope that Pixlr will reply to my email soon, as I would like to know why I keep getting the error when I try to use my usual Gmail to login to the app. I have a simple sub with them, and they're changing some things, so I wanted to edit my sub. But, when I try to do that, it just gives out the error... Very annoying...
Well, blog work now. And, mentally preparing for two calls that I need to make today. One is for the mattress (still!) and the other one is with my bank, so I can get the payment through my wallet on my phone again. This used to be easier, but with all the security measures these days, they say I need a phone verification with my bank. And I don't think that 3:32am is the best time to do that! 😂

I is back! I had quite a day, with a little positive surprise. There could have been two surprises, but I missed one as I was on the loo! 😂 Don't know if that could have been a good surprise, as I know now that it would have positively triggered me. But maybe... Now we'll never know, as I missed "the chance". Yeah I don't like phone calls. But I just don't do them when on the loo. 😂
I'll write all about my day in my journal Toot in a bit. In a few minutes, it's mum's bday, so I am checking the time to send her a text and image at midnight. I made a simple AI image for her that I edited some. I'll share it here too, just because I can.
But my Friday was mostly a good one. One minor thingie happened, when Arwen had another small seizure like moment. But she came out quickly and was her happy self again... It does worry me... 😔
So today, well, almost today, I'll be heading to Nijmegen to help mum. Her prezzie will be my "old phone" and after that, my "old watch", as soon I'll be getting new ones and my old ones I'll prepare to give to my mum. 😊 She still uses my old Samsung phone that I had before my S22 Ultra, I think it was the S9+? So soon, she'll get the S22u, when I get my new phone. 😇
Guess I'd best get to the seated bike and ride some while I'll write my journal Toot. 😉 Catch you all in a bit! 😁

Guess who's back? Yesssss! :pixy_party:
I am a bit earlier as I had a silly dream and woke up earlier. So I just started my day/night. 😊 Arwen did her things, got her meds, and the scale wasn't too bad! It could be better but it could also be worse... :ablobcatangel:
Yesterday was a decent day. I did find out that the police I saw on my way to the gym, and on the way back, they were there due to a very bad accident. A young lad was hit by a probably speeding car, and he didn't survive :parrot_sad: so that was why they blocked off the street and had the tape everywhere... 😔
I do need to do chores today! I only let the dishwasher run, and I didn't even unload it. I still need to get the laundry down and folded too. And I didn't hoover. But I was just so tired...
I did try to adjust the treadmill and, of course, I followed all the guides and things went from bad to worse and now I need to call the store and hope that they can help me through the phone. But, knowing my luck, I'll probably need a mechanic to come by. Meaning a longer wait and costs. So all fingers and toes crossed 🤞🏻 that they can assist me by phone. I still hate calling... But I want to be able to use the treadmill again.
I ordered some new kibble for Arwen. Just a small pack, as she eats less of it now... Hopefully I can pick that up at 13 tomorrow. And then rush home so that we can go out for walkies with N&B.
I need to make another call, for the mattress that I want to lend. I did send a follow-up message to the GP. I hope she'll see both in time, and be able to write me the referral I need for the insurance. I don't think she'll deny any of it. But it's always a "wait and see" if all goes well... I have insurance for this, so it should not need to cost me money (that I don't have anyway).
Tuesday, I want to go to Cuijk earlier and visit the tire store. They helped me in the past, before they changed their location and name, and I hope that they can help Skoosh now. I will need to make an appointment for it, which is no problem. Hopefully they'll have a spot when I can go too, as things are getting closer to the surgery date now.
I also sent a message to the hospital, asking about help and care after they dismiss me from the hospital. Mum can't do as much as she did 4 years ago, so I'll need other people to help me with my personal care, and with the house. I am not allowed to walk without crutches, so that also means that I can't do a lot of the cleaning things at home. Can't hoover when hanging on two crutches... 🤔 Hopefully the people at the hospital will be able to help me to arrange help after the surgery.
I could always ask mum and maybe a neighbor. But there is this service for situations like this, so I'd prefer to use that, instead of bothering other people for it. (I'd prefer to do things on my own, but I'm not allowed. 😂)
Anywhoooo... Let's see if I can get some exercises in. Some muscles are still sore of the exercises that I did at home last Saturday. Whoops...

I had a decent sleep, almost good even. I was able to sleep in my bed, to get a few hours in, and when I did wake up for the loo, I didn't need to head out because Arwen didn't need to go... Bliss...
I got some exercise at the gym. Just a wee bit of simple cardio, as I didn't want to stay away to long... But I rode the bike and I walked one km on the mill. And, with SniffiVerse™ walkies, Arwen wanted a bigger walk.
And now... My body says it needs some more relaxing. But, my brain is eagerly hoping for "things to do". So here I am, writing about "Pixy's Journey", while I have the telly on as well.
My brain was a bit (a lot...acually) triggered that there was no free parking anymore. I could park in front of the house, but, soon, they'll want us to park in the designated spots. But... They haven't made enough spots to fit all the cars here. And I wonder when they will start on making more spots, especially when we're not allowed/able to park in front of the house anymore. I have no idea where I should be parking Skoosh then... It's a real pet peeve of me... I wanna park where I can see my car. And, I do prefer it to be close to my home. But I can't be the only one with these peeves?? :blobcatthinkingglare:
I guess I'd best write some for my blog now. I don't have too many posts lined up at this moment, and with the surgery being only 20 sleeps away... I do want to keep writing some in advance, as I am very sure that it will be harder for me to write around my surgery date. I do have some posts scheduled. And next time I'll use the PC, I will see about writing a few more "Silent Sunday" posts, as they're running out, and they can easily be made in advance... I'll add the ones that are scheduled already as an image here. Hopefully, altbot can help me with it. I am working on a #FitIn2025 post for June 2nd, and of course on Tuesdays, I will share the Journal posts. 😊 Thursdays are my book or author quotes posting days. And, as I just mentioned the Silent Sundays, well , that name kinda gives away when they will be shared. :ablobcatangel:
Well, let's see if I can work on my blog some more, now that my brain is so eager. If the writing doesn't help, then I will need to take a little pill to help me relax. It can be "helpful" when the brain is enthusiastic and eager to make things happen. But, it can also be exhausting, as sometimes, my body just needs rest, and it is not getting it when the brain keeps rushing onwards... :ablobcatgooglymlemjumping:

Ello frens and fans of Arwen :verified_paw:
We're out and about :kirby_walk: again! It's 9°C and dry, so not too bad...
I only rode the bike at the gym. Didn't even use the massage chair, as I didn't want to take too long. When I got home all was well. But the smell... 😔
I let Arwen out and then I changed clothes. I checked the rest of the "damages" of me sleeping too deep. The couch needed new plaids, Arwen's blanket and pillow from her crate needed a wash, and even the piggy needed a soak. So now, the washing machine is doing its work. I hope it won't disturb my neighbor... But yeah, the bits needed to be washed...
I still need to clean some bits of the doors in the hallway, so I guess I'll do that once we're back from walkies.
Arwen has a vet appointment tomorrow for her 4-weekly shot. I'll ask them about meds for her tummy as well. Can I afford it? Not really... But... If they have something that can help Arwen feel better... It's worth loads!
I'll be making a shopping list for both mum and me for today. Mum will watch Arwen and I'll head to Germany. Mum wanted to do the shopping, but I need some heavy things, so I'll be going to get the bits and bops instead. It's easier for her to care for Arwen instead.
Even though the few hours of sleep in my bed were very much needed, the price was high for Arwen and me... :parrot_sad: I really thought she was doing better. It looked like the poop was getting harder. She didn't need the loo that much anymore. But I guess I slept too long. I feel so guilty...
I hope to work a bit on my blog tonight, as I need a bit of relaxing and all that. And I want to keep it up, so it doesn't become too stressful when I need go do it all at once, as it is a lot of work... I enjoy doing it though. But with the bad chair, it's a little less comfortable. Hopefully mum and I can visit Ikea soon to get a new chair. :ablobcatangel:
Ah well... Friday, we only have the vet visit. So hopefully I can relax a bit then... I love my dog to bits and I'd do anything for her. But I do need to have some energy so that I can keep doing just that... 😊
Let's see if I can write a bit for my blog now. There's no moon yet, so I'll share another one of my chimpanzee snaps. It's almost the same as the last one I shared, but as I said, I didn't really take many shots...

#Journal of a Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Wednesday 21/05/2025).
Another night on the couch. Arwen didn't need me as much, so that was a plus. But still, I'll be glad when her tummy is better again. And I guess she'll feel better then as well, poor thing... I gave her the medication, let her out, and then I went to the scale. It wasn't too bad. I got dressed and took my own meds. After a little wait, I got Arwen her food and then I asked if she needed to go out again. Nope... So I went to the gym.
I checked my social media and then I got to the seated bike. After a short ride, I went to the massage chair and then I got ready to head back home again.
There were only a few spots to clean, probably where she'd been sleeping and then woke due to passing of wind with some extra. I took Arwen out and then I cleaned the few bits. Washed up, changed clothes, and had my brekky.
Arwen and I went for a short walk and all went well. Arwen didn't like not being allowed off leash at certain places, but she got sniffs and did her things so that's good.
I went upstairs and worked on my blog a bit. Then back down, and Arwen wanted to go out. So a quick loo stop, before we went to the couch together for some relaxing. After a few hours, we went out for walkies again.
I made some food and then we went for a quick loo break. Then I headed back upstairs and rode the bike for a while. I got back down and shortly after, bestie called me on her way to work. But it was a short call, as she got a call she needed to take and then I didn't hear from her anymore...
Arwen and I went for another walk and then it was time to head to Nijmegen. When we got there, I quickly went to Appie for some bread, and shortly after I got back, my friend came too and then we headed to the Zoo.
We had a very nice time. I didn't take too many snaps this time. But at the Ocean, there was a very kind gentleman who told us a *lot* about the sharks and it was very interesting! I really enjoyed that. 😊
When the park got more busy, my friend and I headed back to Skoosh and then we drove to Nijmegen. She went back home and I took Arwen home as well. Mum said that Arwen did very well, so I was rather pleased with that news.
We got back and I gave Arwen some food. Then, N texted that B wanted to go out. So, we went out. We had a nice walk and all went well.
I relaxed on the couch a bit and then I let Arwen out once more. Then I made the couch and I fell asleep. I woke after an hour and took Arwen out. Then, an hour later, I woke with tears on my face, as my back had given out. 😢 So I asked Arwen if she wanted to go out before I had to go to bed. Nope...
I heard her half an hour later, and asked if she wanted to go out. Nope. She went to the doggy bed in my bedroom. And I hoped that she would make some noise when she did need to go. But... I was so tired that I slept like a log until the alarm woke me up. And then, I smelled it... 😔
Arwen was on the couch, looking very sad. But the hallway was full of splatters, everywhere... I first took Arwen out. Then, when she was finally done, I started the cleaning job. First she got her meds. Then, the mats went to the garden. And then the tissues got the worst of it. Then the mop got the rest. My back and nose weren't too happy. But hey, I didn't get up for Arwen sooner...
When all was mopped, I got my meds and changed clothes. The scale wasn't too kind but hey... I still need to change the couch blankets and clean the mats. But as I would be gone, and the couch was not bad at all, and the mats were outside... I just went to the gym to really start my day/night. 😊

I is back! I is a little later, as I had a big clean-up to do when I got up. It was my own fault, I know... And Arwen felt so bad about it... :parrot_sad: and so did I... What happened? Well...
Arwen's tummy has been upset since Sunday. And yesterday it seemed like she was improving some. I let her out and went to the couch. We went out again. An hour later. But, after another hour, I woke up in such pains... Arwen didn't want to go out. And I *had* to go to bed, my back was killing me. I woke up crying so that's how bad it was. I asked Arwen if she needed out. Nope. I went to bed. Half an hour later I heard Arwen. So I wanted to take her out. Nope, she went to sleep in the bed next to mine. I was so tired that... I slept till the alarm! I had not heard Arwen, and I guess she didn't try to wake me (she never does, that's why I was on the couch for three nights). So she was on the couch looking all sad... And the smell was bad! The whole hallway was full of shitty :parrotpoop: bits *everywhere*. The two mats were so gross...
First, I took her out. Then, I got my gloves and cleaning stuff. The mats went to the garden. I cleaned the worst bits with paper towels. Then I got the mop and cleaned the floor beat I could (my back still wasn't the best). The water went over the mats in the garden...
Arwen didn't want to go out when I was done, so fingers crossed 🤞🏻 she will be OK while I'm at the gym. If not, then I hope she'll go back to the hallway... As that's easiest to clean at least...
So yeah, I had a few hours of good sleep. And was rewarded with a shitty job...
I thought Arwen was doing better, but I guess there was too much time between the outings. But when I offered, she refused... 😔
Usually, mum and I go to Germany on Thursday morning. But maybe I will go alone today, and mum will watch Arwen. Mum wanted to go, but I need some heavy things, so it may be best if I go and take her things as well then...
It had been a good day, I had fun at the Zoo with my friend. Didn't take many snaps as I was too busy chatting. And it was more busy as we were a bit later, so I needed my spoons to keep calm in between the busy bits. I did get a few snaps of a chimpanzee with a young one. And of the two capibaras. So I'll share those here.
Let's quickly get to my exercises, so Arwen doesn't need to wait too long for me to come back!

My mind has been in many different "states of mind" the last 10 days. It all worsened when the accident happened on my birthday. Mum and dad not doing well, fear over the biker, all these extra appointments that didn't allow me much time to recharge.
Then, Arwen's health started strulling again. Which also meant that I was on "poop duty" :parrotpoop: I know it was/is worse for Arwen than it is for me. Poot gall... But, it meant less time for me, again. Less decent sleep. The couch isn't the best, after 12 years of loyal service (and it wasn't the most expensive one when we got it). But, that's what Arwen needed/needs at the moment, so that's what I had/have to do.
But my mind wants to do so much. I want to work on getting better exercises in, to make my body stronger again, as I lost quite a bit of my build up health since the move...
The surgery is getting closer and I still need to arrange several things before I can head to the hospital feeling confident about it. I keep saying that I'll do it soon. And then... Something happens and it gets pushed aside again. 😔
My brain wants me to write and keep writing. And, that's what I have been trying to do a bit. Both here (I had this long rambling Toot yesterday: https://beige.party/@PixysJourney/114532669272961008). The blog writing has been lagging a bit, as Arwen and I walk shorter walks now, so I have less time to sit down and write. And when I finally do sit down to gather my thoughts, these days, Arwen will need to head out again, due to her tummy issues. So the only long things I have been writing so far, have been on this site.
I wanted to write more on Friendica.world but the instance still has some issues. It seemed to be catching up a few days ago (again, sorry for all the boosting spam that got released then, though it wasn't in my control), but now, it's not showing me any latest posts, so I am now sure if things will get posted when I write them there, which is a bummer...
So I guess I will post this long Toot and then start working on another blog post. I used to have many planned ahead and, with the surgery coming closer, it would be good to have some in advance for when I am in the hospital. As I don't know if I will be up to writing much when I am in there... :ablobcatangel:

#Journal of a slightly shitty :parrotpoop: Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Monday, 19/05/2025).
After a broken night on the couch, I got up several times before the alarm. Heck, I was up before the alarm... My body was sore, but I'm sure that Arwen was feeling even worse... I gave her the meds, and got to the scale and dressed. We went out for a short walkies, so she could do her things again. We waited a bit, while I cleaned up the couch so Arwen could use it again. After some time, I gave her some food. She was very happy about that. I asked if she needed to go out once more, before I got my bag and headed to the gym.
I checked up on my socials, and then I rode the seated bike. Followed by a 15 minute walk on the treadmill. I squeezed in a massage in the chair before I got ready to head back home again.
I asked Arwen if she wanted to head out, but she was happily snoozing, so I did my things. After brekky, we headed out for walkies. Arwen was rather happy and we had a nice walk.
When we got back, I headed upstairs for a bit to work on my blog. I didn't do anything else, because I didn't want to be upstairs too long. I was so tired, that I tried to relax a bit on the couch. Some more outings for Arwen happened.
My brain was doing the "I need extra meds today" thing again, so I wrote a bit here and there. Then, after another outing, I got ready to head to Oss. I wanted to visit the Toyota garage to get the light bulb replaced so that Skoosh would have proper lights again.
They were rebuilding the showroom, so it was a bit messy. But, after half an hour, Skoosh was done, and I could take her home again. Seeing the time, I didn't visit the supermarket and just headed home.
We went on walkies and Arwen was glad to see N&B. She got a few treats, but definitely not that many... But she was glad of the ones that she did get.
When we got back, I got my bag and I walked to the supermarket for a few groceries. Funds were very low, thanks to the extra costs for Skoosh, so I just got a few things. Then I walked back and tried to relax a bit.
Every now and then, Arwen would fart like crazy, and we needed to head out again. But, it seemed a little less frequent than the previous day. Still, needing to clean the brown butt every time... That wasn't my idea of a good time.
I tried to relax in between. And, after another walk, I slowly dozed off for a short while. Until Arwen told me she needed to go out. Heck, she even made a sound this time! It was just before our usual walkies time with N&B, so while Arwen was doing her things, I texted N. They came out and we had a nice walk together.
I wanted to relax a bit, but Arwen needed to go out a few times again. Then, we got ready to head to bed. Well, to the couch for me...
I woke three times for Arwen and then shortly before my alarm was set to go off. So I did get a bit more sleep, but my body still felt rather broken.
I gave Arwen her meds, got to the scale, got dressed, and headed out with Arwen again. Ready to start my day/night.

:ablobcatblinkhyper: there are moments when I wonder if I should take my extra meds for my busy brain. I want to take a pill to help me concentrate a bit better. But part of me is a bit weird about needing that extra pill. I already have the ADHD meds and I don't want to need more pills, besides these, my painkillers, and my supplements. But, on the other hand, these meds do help me. I got them from the GP to support me when I need it. And I would be silly not to use that when I can. Right?
But, when my brain goes like this, it's when I actually *know* that I *need* to take that one little extra pill.... :ablobcatgoogly:
I need to drive to the garage in about 1½ hours, to get the headlight of Skoosh replaced. Just the bulb this time. Still, I hope it won't be too expensive, or I will need to use my savings a bit. Some expenses just got taken out of my account this morning. Last time I needed a new bulb, about 1½ years ago (at another garage), it was about €30. So hopefully, the prices haven't gotten too crazy just yet... I wish I could replace them myself. But, with my hands, and my insecurity when it comes to things like this, yeah... I will end up needing to spend more money when I try it myself first...
On the way back, I need some groceries. Depending on the light bulb costs, I may need to use my creditcard, as my funds are low. I was/am still soooooo grateful :flying_hearts: for your support with Arwen's pills the other day. I was able to afford them, and (hopefully) still be able to get Skoosh working as she should. I drive a lot at night, so I don't want to drive around too long with just one of the headlights working. I know the LEDs will be dimmed, so there will be some light from that side. But yeah... Guess that's a bit of my "autistic rule following", that I want to fix the light ASAP... I should get money in my account again tomorrow, but I don't want to wait. I couldn't get the light fixed this Friday, and the workplaces are usually closed over the weekend, so today is the day I *need* to get it fixed...
(see how my brain is rambling at this time??? I didn't put up the warning for nothing... :winking: )
Arwen seems to be doing a bit better again... I gave her some foods again, as she was getting a bit wobbly on her paws. We still need to go out every now and then, mostly after a devastating fart has passed... But, yesterday, we went out at least once or twice every hour. Tonight, since I got up around 22, she's been out 4 times. So that's once in about every 2 hours. Which is a huge improvement.
I washed her bum, as it was getting a bit icky, even with me trying to use the baby wipes after every loo visit. But the bum was still a bit sore, so it's not all proper yet. But, it's a *lot* better than it was before. Which, hopefully, also helps her feel better as well.
So yeah, some relaxing now. Then a short walk when Arwen wants it and/or before I have to leave the house for the garage and groceries. After that... I *really* hope that I will be able to relax a bit. Maybe with some telly or some gaming. But yeah, I know I also need to get some exercises in. My arms are sore from the gardening this weekend. But that means that I need to do my exercises to support the muscles more properly. Sleeping, on and off again, on the couch didn't help my body to feel any better either...
Anywhoooooo..... Busy brain! :ablobcatneon: Busy Pixy... And, hopefully, if and when all could go well, some relaxing after the chores are done... 🤞🏻
Well, let's write a bit for my blog now, while my brain is so active and all that. Owow, Arwen is passing some smells again, we may need to go out in a bit again... :ablobcatangel:

#Journal of a slightly exhausted Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Sunday 18/05/2025).
I woke when the alarm went off. It had been a short night, as we were home late the day before. But I did want to get up around the usual time for Arwen's meds. But... When I woke up, there was a smelly surprise for me... 😔 Even with the bedroom door open, Arwen had not come to wake me up, so I had some cleaning to do. First, we rushed outside and then Arwen got her meds and I started cleaning...
When that was done, I got to the scale and I dressed for the gym. I took my meds and waited a bit. I thought Arwen would be better after the poops, so I gave her a normal meal and then I headed to the gym.
All went well at the gym, but I was rather tired and still a bit worried, so I only rode the seated bike. Then I did get a massage in the chair before heading back home again.
When I got back, Arwen wanted to go out again. So we went, and her tummy was still very upset. I then washed up, switched clothes, and had brekky. We had a normal small nightly walk, and she did rather well.
After the walk, I went upstairs and worked on my blog a bit. I was very tired, so I went back down, hoping to maybe steal a snooze on the couch. But... Nope! No such luck... Arwen's tummy was really bad and we went to the bushes at least one or twice every hour. Arwen let some farts out that even startled her badly. Poor gall... 😔
After we went for a little walk, I decided to get at least some work in the garden done. So we went to the back garden and I started some of the weeding there. I got out quite a bit. But I was sore and tired and all that. So I did a little less than I had hoped for. But still, some of the bigger weeds were out, and it looked a wee bit better...
I washed up and went out again with Arwen. This was going to be a long day, as I didn't dare to snooze on the couch, afraid I may miss Arwen needing to go out... 😔 I watched some telly, and we went out every time Arwen told me she wanted to go.
And even with all these short trips, I didn't get the steps in for today... Ah well...
I did manage to play a wee bit of Minecraft with a very sweet friend. She understood that I needed to rush off at times. So that was very sweet of her... We did have a good time gaming, but it was challenging at times with me needing to rush off every now and then...
N texted me if Arwen wanted walkies. I said she probably want them, but that snacks weren't wise. So we walked a different route, with no swims and no snacks. Arwen was a bit bummed but she accepted it rather quickly so... Maybe she understood that it was for the best...
After the walk, we relaxed a bit. Then another loo break before I tried to settle myself on the couch... That way, hopefully, I would wake up early when Arwen needed me.
I woke up about once every hour. We went out again and again. At one point, I just settled in again, and then I heard Arwen start to hurl... Ow nooooo 😔. So yeah, more tasteful cleaning for me to do. But... Since then, her stomach seemed to settle a bit. I was able to sleep some more. When I woke up again, about half an hour before my (earlier) set alarm, I got up and decided to care for Arwen again.
It was a very broken night with some icky cleaning. But... Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that the worst is behind us now? 🍀

#Journal of a slightly exhausted Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Saturday 17/05/2025).
I woke up when my alarm told me it was time. Gave Arwen her meds and got to the scale. Which was kind enough, seeing the circumstances... I got dressed and took Arwen out to do her things. I took my own meds and spent some time online. A very sweet friend had gotten some awesome good news, so I was super excited for them! :blobcat_party: Then, it was time to feed Arwen and get ready to head to the gym.
I enjoyed my protein shake while I checked my socials some more. Then, I rode the seated bike for a while, followed by 1km on the treadmill. A massage in the chair, before I got ready to head back home again.
I washed up, changed clothes, and had brekky. When I wanted to walk the SniffiVerse™ walkies with Arwen, she was having some issues with one of her paws. There was a little sore spot between two of her pads. So we walked a very short walk, and when we got home, I did my best to clean it and get ointment on it. Arwen didn't like it, but hopefully she noticed that it did help her...
I went upstairs and wanted to work on my blog. A four minute update was needed. Well, yes, the update took 4 minutes.... Then another 31 before the PC was ready to be used again... 😔 I spend some time rowing, and when I got to the home trainer, after a few minutes, the PC was ready. Finally! So I could finally finish the blog bits and then go downstairs. I wanted to relax a bit. But seeing the time, I had to fix some food...
Walked a short round with Arwen after that. Then, I got my garden stuff and I tried to make some more progress in the front garden. While I was busy, the neighbor and her dog came by. Arwen wasn't too amused when we didn't join them... After about an hour, I was tired, aching, and sweaty all over! So I cleaned up the tools and I got a shower.
The washing machine started after that. Some relaxing while it was doing its thing. Then, after I'd hung the laundry, we headed out for walkies again. Arwen was fortunate, as we did see N&B again. We had a nice walk and I told N that we could not make the afternoon walkies due to the garage visit later.
When we got back, I relaxed a wee bit in the garden with my eBook. Then, when it was time to head to Nijmegen, Arwen and I got to Skoosh. When we got there, I took the dogs to the small woods. By the time that we got back, mum was home too and dad was getting ready to head to the garage.
I'd told him about the highway part being closed. So, of course, he drove his usual way to the garage, to find out that, heck! The highway was closed! 🤦🏼‍♂️ Ugh... Yeah... Who knew eej? So when we finally got there, the guy my dad had the appointment with, was busy... And so the wait began. The folks he was helping were making an outing of it... They took ages! Dad and I were able to take the "new" car for a test drive. And dad was pleased... Then, we waited some more...
I started browsing all the cars they had there and I found the keys in one of them! Euh, I don't think they should be in there?? 🤔 So when the sales man finally had time for us and everything was discussed... I told him about the keys. And he was grateful for my telling him, as it indeed was an insurance nightmare, should something happen! So, me waiting and checking out all the cars, it did have a positive side. 😂
My parents got a loan car from the garage, to use until the "new" car would be ready for them. It was a C-HR. I'd never driven one of those. 😇 Dad had to take the rental to the rental place, and then I offered to drive them back in the C-HR, as I had just adjusted everything anyway. (plus it meant that I could drive...).
I got my parents home safe and sound. Then, I took Arwen home with me. A short walk with her before bed time. I was soooo tired! Usually I go to bed around 15:30, and it was almost 17:30 now. It was gonna be a short night.
After a short while, I fell asleep. When the alarm woke me up, and I wanted to give Arwen her meds, I saw and smelled... A brown prezzie from Arwen to me. So, even with the door open, she didn't come to get me when she needed me... 😔
So she got her meds and we rushed outside. And then, I started my day/night with cleaning... Yay...

Here I am! I know, I'm late... I blame Arwen... I had my door open so she could reach me but apparently, she won't do that... I was so tired that the few hours I slept, I slept good... But when I woke up, I was greeted by smelly bits on the floor... And Arwen was very restless. So, I rushed Arwen outside. And she took her time. I needed to wee baldy too, so waiting for Arwen was rather hard... Then she got the meds and I started cleaning...
So it all took a little longer before I was able to head to the gym and all that...
Yesterday was a loooong day!! We went to the garage around noon. I had warned dad that a part of the highway was shut off and he needed to drive towards my place, and hit the other highway there. So, of course, he drove the way he always drove and... Had to drive the long way around because, heck, the highway was closed! 🤦🏼‍♂️ If only someone had said something... Ugh...
Im still no fan of the way how dad drives... And that didn't improve after last week... But, we got to the garage. And then... We had to wait for ages, as the man that dad had the appointment with, had an unscheduled appointment with folks that were making an outing of the garage visit... So.... We waited, a lot... I tried some of the cars, and found the keys in one of them. That... Should not happen! So, when the man *finally* had time for us, I did tell him that he had an insurance issue with the keys... And he was grateful for my telling him!
But, they got the car and it will be ready June 6th. Until then, they have an awesome loaner, that I was allowed to drive. Which was very cool, to me, at least. 😂
But, we didn't get home till past 17, when I usually go to bed around 15:30. Arwen did her things and then it was almost 17:30 when I was able to fall asleep.
My alarm woke me up at the usual time and then I found the surprises... Ugh... :parrotpoop: But Arwen felt worse than I did about it... So, hopefully, the room will be clean when I get back again... 🤞🏻
Let's get to the seated bike and do something good... :ablobcatangel: catch you in a bit, when I've managed to write my journal Toot... Which will include a part what I just shared here. 😉

:pixy_party: well... That's one thing ordered that I need to make the house a bit better again... :ablobcatangel:
This month, the vacation money will come in. It will be spent before I can blink my eyes :ablobcatblinkhyper: haha!
Skoosh needs all-season shoes, as they are needed for Germany in the winter. I know I could get two sets of tyres (or is it tires? I can't figure it out... 🤔) and switch them out. But with the distances I drive, it's just as good to just get decent all season ones. And I've found some that have good stats and a food name so... I wanna get those for Skoosh. Her old shoes will need replacing anyway, as they're getting older and "less deep". So when I have to replace them, it's best to get tyres that are dependable and economical. 😊 But that means that half of my vacation money will be spent. (in a good way though, good tyres are very important for safety).
I asked my parents what I'll need for the week we'll be heading to Germany together. Maybe I'll have enough left to get a good PC chair, or a start of some savings for it... Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
I did order the Cat6 cable and connectors for my internet upstairs. I'm now using a set of wireless hotspots to get Wi-Fi upstairs, but a cable would mean better connection and better stability and speeds. There is a special cable gutter that leads to the PC room, so that should make it easier to get the cable upstairs. The cable should be delivered this Friday, so hopefully dad will be able to help me soon. 😊 Fingers crossed 🤞🏻. He needs to feel better first... :ablobcatheartsqueeze:
Vacation money is nice. Last year, all got used for the new house... This year, we'll have a week in Germany together. Which will be nice, if the weather allows. Two years ago, the whole vacation (including the time spent in Austria then), we got so much rain...... Which was a bummer as I was hoping for walkies... This year, I'll still be recovering from the surgery I guess... But I still hope to have some relaxing time... 😊
It will be good to have decent internet for my pc. And it will be nice to have proper good tyres for Skoosh. And... Hopefully, a new PC chair...
With the "usual money" I'll try to keep making ends meet, as long as Arwen needs the expensive meds. But, she's all worth it... :bear_love:
Anywhoo.... I'll be very glad to be able to get some improvements. And I'll be glad to have a week of vacation after I've healed from my surgery... Nice things to be happy about. :twinsparrot: which is something I really needed right now...

It's a nice night with 12°C, and it's dry (again/still). Arwen is enjoying many sniffs. I wonder how far she'll want to walk tonight...
I did my best at the gym. I pushed aside my excuses and... I did 22 minutes on the seated bike, followed by 8 minutes on the cross-trainer. But then... I did two shoulder exercises. At low weights, compared where I was at last year. But... I went ahead and I did them. Just two exercises, just three sets. No, not just! I shouldn't talk it down, as it's a positive thing! Especially seeing how I'm feeling at the moment... 💪🏼
Tonight I'll try to take it easy, as it will be a busy day. Not as much as in exercise, as be driving a bit... But still, driving during day time to a place I don't know... That still takes a few spoons...
I hope that I can work on my blog a bit when we get home from walkies... Maybe make some more alt texts for my Zoo snaps from last week....
There is a lovely moon again, so I had to get a snap, as I do... :ablobcatangel:

A bit late Toot, as we're already on the way back. Granted, Arwen only wanted a short walk, so getting to "the way back" happened a lot quicker. 😊
Her hind paw is still troubling her, unfortunately, although it seems to be a wee bit better now...
I called the vet yesterday and they didn't have Arwen's meds yet. They should come in on Wednesday, so just in time to pick them up before the others run out. I would have preferred to have them already and not leave it to the last moment, but when they don't have it... 😔
I rode the seated bike for 20 minutes and then I walked the treadmill for 10. Had a nice massage in the chair before I headed back home again.
Guess I'll need to hit the treadmill tonight, as Arwen only wanted a short walk... Yesterday, I didn't make it to my step goal, which was understandable, given all that had happened. It it also made me a bit sad.... So, maybe I can do better today. At least I got ten minutes in at the gym. 😊
Today, I have PT, which will be very welcome, as my whole body is so stressed out! :moomin_sad: so everything just hurts more, unfortunately... Again, it's understandable, but it's also hard to deal with...
Hopefully my internet will work properly tonight. I'm kinda done with the hassle of setting up my phone to use the PC, when I pay enough for a good connection at home. I still need to get a cable upstairs. But dad hasn't been up to that yet. And I have a Cat5 (e?) cable, but if I can, I would prefer to get a Cat6 at least. It's just me in the house, so Cat6 should be good enough for the near future. I found a site where I can buy it, so if I have some vacation money, and the new shoes for Skoosh won't be too expensive (one can always hope), maybe I can also get a good Cat6 cable for the upstairs area... 🤞🏻
There was a lovely moon tonight, it was almost full... 🌕 So of course I took a snap and slightly exited it. 😊

I rode the bike for 40 minutes at the gym. And I had ten minutes in the massage chair as well. It was needed...
My body is sore. Maybe from the garden work that I did yesterday. Maybe from the anxiety and stress caused by yesterday's events... :parrot_sad:
I'll try to take it easy today. I need to call the vet to check if they have the meds for Arwen so I can pick up a refill.
But, maybe, my mind will need distraction and such, and it will push me into doing more garden work in the back garden. To get the anxiety out a bit... Who knows...
After walkies, I'll work on my blog a bit. I *need* to write a blog about yesterday's events. I know I wrote a longer Toot at the start of this night here, so I may end up using some of that in the blog post. I need to write about it, it's still too present in my brain...
There's so many mixed emotions cruising through me.
Fear of what happened to both my parents but also to the biker! I'm hoping with all my might that he will be able to recover...
Gratefulness for my parents to be as OK as they are now. Grateful for all the people that helped the biker and my parents. Grateful for my friends that offered me the support that I needed so badly at that time.
But also sadness... That my dad was/is responsible for this bad accident. That he injured someone so badly. But I also feel sad for feeling grateful that the biker didn't hit the front side door where my mum was sitting... I don't want to think of what would have happened then.... :parrot_sad:
This will probably come to haunt me in my nightmares, and it wasn't even something I witnessed when it happened.... I hope my parents will be able to deal with this...
Anywhoo.... Let's see how I can make it through today... As I mentioned before, I'll never forget this birthday... But, not in a good way... :parrot_sad:

We're back for some birthday SniffiVerse™ walkies tonight! :pixy_party:
Arwen's left hind leg seems a bit stiff. Maybe she made a wrong move yesterday, maybe she's slept on it badly. I've massaged it and I couldn't feel anything too different. And she didn't wince that it hurt her. So "hopefully" it's just a sore muscle and she'll be OK if we take it easy. I'll see how she wants to walk tonight... If she hints that she wants a shorter walk, then I'll just use the treadmill tonight (I think... 😂).
I rode the seated bike for 40 minutes. There were many guys in the weight section, so I just headed home after the ride. I couldn't use the massage chair as they'd been taken... 😔
If Arwen's paw doesn't get better, then I think it's best to not go to the Herperduin. She won't like it, but I don't want to worsen her leg with the longer walk and the loose sand there.

And, of course, I need to write a bit more in advance on the other topics. In 5 weeks, I'll be in hospital now (if all goes as planned), and I may be less able to write for my blog then... 😇

I enjoyed my protein shake while I caught up with some social media. Then I rode the seated bike for a whole, followed by a few minutes on the cross-trainer. A massage in the chair, and then I got ready to head back home again.
Washed up and had brekky. Then Arwen and I headed out for SniffiVerse™ walkies. I thought Arwen would want the smaller route, but she wasn't having it. We had to go the "in-between" route. Guess she was feeling good. 😊
When we got back, I tried to fix my PC chair seat a bit by attaching some duct tape to it... It will not hold it all the way I fear, it it should make sure that I won't tip over so easily when I lean too far... It's not ideal, but it is as it is... 😊 I worked on my PC an bit, added some software and worked on my blog. It was nice to use a PC again.
When I got down, it was getting light already, and Arwen saw this as a reason to be ready to head to the Herperduin. So yeah, I took Arwen there again... We had a good time and Arwen had the sniffs and some play time as well.
When we got back, I made some food. After that, I got my things ready, and Arwen and I headed to Nijmegen. Arwen would stay with my parents for a bit, so that I could visit the Zoo this morning.
I arrived a bit early and the first 45 minutes in the park were awesome! Then, more folks started coming in, some accompanied by their smaller, louder, versions... So around 10:30, I headed back to Skoosh. It was getting too loud and crowded and I had seen most of the animals. Even seen a few that I missed the last time... 😊 Yay!
I picked up Arwen, and then er headed back home. Fixed some food for us and then we relaxed a bit on the couch.
Walkies with N&B were nice, although the neighborhood is so messy these days... It's hard to find a good and safe route to walk.
Some more relaxing, till it was time to get ready for bed. I was rather tired, so it didn't take too long to fall asleep...
I woke up for the loo, and got back to bed. And then... A horrible nightmare! It scared me so much, that I woke up two hours early, but I was just so shocked... I could not sleep anymore! So... I got up and started my day/night a tad earlier...

I is early, I know... Seems like my brain was not happy with me, as it gave me a bloody awful nightmare! I woke up because, and this is so silly, I saw Arwen walk over a high platform, and the platform shifted, Arwen jumped, hung on for a while, and when she started falling, that's when I woke, bathing in sweat... 😥 Maybe I need to change the duvet of the bed, maybe it were my hormones acting up. But when you see your dog fall to her death, however unrealistic, yeah... I could not sleep after that!
Then I wanted to use the scale. But... The app had logged me out again. It didn't accept my login and I could not get it to work... 😔 This happened in January as well. And it's bloody annoying. I'll try to log on later. But if I need another new login, it will mean that I lose all my progress again. I have the info sheets saved but I can't easily compare those... 😔 Technical things like this suck when they don't work properly...
A very sweet friend send me something for my bday, so that got added to the funds for Arwen's meds that I need to get this Monday... Fankoos 🫶🏻 so much!
Let's see if I can get some exercise done. Because I'm earlier, it's still more busy, which I don't really like... But yeah, I just couldn't sleep anymore... 😔
Hopefully, today, I can get some gaming done. I also want to see if I can work on the garden a bit... Maybe I can finish Arwen her corner? If my body allows... I do need to visit the store as well, as my parents decided they do want to visit me this Sunday. When we were shopping last Thursday, and we talked about it, mum didn't say anything... So I didn't buy anything. So, of course, now they tell me they do want to visit... Which also means that I have to clean a bit... Yay... Busy day today... Really hope there will be some time to game as well... 🤞🏻

Unfortunately, I had to change my PayPal a while ago, as I had issues with my login on the old one. As this is the first donation through Kofi since I've changed my PayPal, they're holding the money for a while, to prevent bad business... 😔 They say I can accelerate the process, but I need to figure out how to do that. And I fear it will take longer to be processed after that... So this very sweet donation will be used for the next medical costs of Arwen! :flying_hearts:

Guess who's back for another nightly walkies? :kirby_walk: Yesssss..... Arwen is getting some sniffs in, and I'm a bit warm in my jacket. It's 9°C and dry, which means it's a tad cold for one jacket, but it's a tad warm for the other. 😂 I guess I'd rather be a bit warmer than cold, so I chose the warmer jacket.
I've been reading up on some of the help my sweet friends gave me re my PC. I have the old data cables from the old PC taken out. After the walkies, I'll head to the new PC and see what I can do with it. I'll probably only be able to connect the HDD, if I'm lucky, which is the most important one. Of course it would have been nice to also connect the small SSD... Ah well...
I did my best at the gym. Managed almost half an hour on the seated bike, most of it on level 2. Then I did one rowing exercise on a weight machine. It was hard on my elbow, but I managed 3x 12 rows. It's not much, but hey, it's more than I did last week!
Today will be Germany day. So I won't have too much time to play with the new PC. But that's OK, I can be patient... :ablobcatangel: well, sort of! 😂
Maybe, if mum can watch Arwen a few hours tomorrow, I'll head to the zoo again... It's been a while, and I'd like to go again so... 😊

#Journal of a slightly tired Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Wednesday, 07/05/2025).
I woke up around 21 for the loo. I decided to head back to bed, and I woke up again, just three minutes before the alarm was set to go off. I quickly gave Arwen her meds, and I used the scale before I got dressed. I took Arwen outside for her things. Then I took my own meds, and I played a little on social media, until I could feed Arwen. When she was happily eating, I got my bag, put out the snacks, and headed to Skoosh.
I checked my socials some more while I was enjoying my protein shake. Then, I rode the seated bike for half an hour. It was less busy at the weights section, so I managed to do two light weight shoulder exercises. Yay me! Then I switched my shoes and got ready to head back home again
Washed up, changed clothes, had brekky. Then Arwen and I got ready to go out for SniffiVerse™ walkies. It was a bit chilly, so I got my warmer jacket. We walked the shorter route, but that was OK. When we got back, I got my laptop and I worked on my blog for a while. I tried to relax a bit after that, but my brain was just too busy. When it was getting light out, Arwen was giving me some hints that I couldn't miss.
So, even though I was rather tired, I got the towel and snacks, and we headed to Skoosh. Another walk at the Herperduin. And, while I had rather been on the couch, seeing Arwen enjoy herself so much, it made it all worth it! 🥰 On the way back, I tried to edit a silly little video, so Arwen could have all the sniffs without me being too annoyed by that... 😇
We got back, and I fixed some food. Then, there was a wee bit of time to relax. My brain was still too excited, because today, my PC would come. So, of course, time passed by way too slow...
Arwen and I went out for walkies, and she was bummed, as we didn't see the neighbor. Then, I changed clothes and I rode the home trainer for half an hour. Followed by some gaming. I finished the story line of Lost Records. It wasn't all what I expected, but it wasn't too bad for sure. Now, I'll need a guide to get some of the other endings and all, and I need some collectibles, so that I can get more of the achievements.
Around 11, we went for another walk. This time, we did see the neighbor, but she didn't have snacks, so Arwen was disappointed 😂. Poor girl never gets anything! 😂
I watched some telly till the PC arrived. When I carried it upstairs, N&B came for walkies. So we got ready, and we had a nice walk.
When we got back, I unpacked the PC, and tried to add the things from my old PC. The firewire card was no issue. The hard drives were... I could not find the cables that I needed... 😔 And the ones I did find, they weren't long enough... Maybe there is still a way to connect them, maybe there isn't... 😔 Bummer!
I let Arwen out for a final wee, and then we went to sleep. It didn't take too long to doze off. I woke once for the loo, and then again, about 45 minutes before the alarm was set to go off. So... I gave Arwen her meds and I started my day/night.

I'm trying to save money for Arwen's new pills, as she has only a few more days in her bottle. The pills are €112 per bottle of 30. It's a lot! But she's feeling so much better on them....

We're back on another adventure :kirby_walk: Arwen is doing rather well, not too many long sniffs (so far). The weather is at 8°C and it's dry, so that's not too bad. 😊
I rode the bike for half an hour at the gym. After that, I tried two shoulder exercises. Just a low weight, 3* 12 reps. It was a bit uncomfortable, but it also felt good to be doing them again. The plus side of being a bit later, it's a bit less busy at the exercise machines. 💪🏼
As I shared in the gym Toot, the PC should be delivered between 11-13:30. So yeah, fingers crossed that I can get it early and make a start with it. 🍀
I don't have too many plans for today, so that should be good... I'm not sure yet if we should go to the Herperduin again. Arwen really missed it yesterday... So let's see how this walk goes, and how we both feel in a few hours... 😊
I'll probably try to make some progress with one if the games I've been playing. Don't know which one yet... Or maybe my arm and hands will allow me to do some more work in the garden. Maybe I can get the anti weeds cloth set in Arwen's corner? 🤔 Let's see how I will feel after walkies and all that...
Maybe we won't go to the woods till Friday? It really all depends on how I feel, as my body is still rather sore. My physio got some good cracks out of my back, neck, and elbow yesterday... Ouch... :parrot_sad: My back feels a bit better now, but my elbow is still painful, unfortunately...
Ah well... Let's see if I can write a bit for my blog as I walk with my gall. I did manage to take a new snap of the moon. I'll let altbot make me a nice text for it. 🌔

I woke up about an hour before the alarm was set to go off. Got Arwen her meds, and then I got to the scale. Weight went down a wee bit again, and I seem to be back to my "usual" weight now. I got dressed, let Arwen out, and took my meds. Checked up on some social media, till it was time to feed Arwen. When she was eating happily, I put out the snacks, and grabbed my bag. On my way to the gym!
I had several messages from a very sweet friend, so I tried to catch up with those as I enjoyed my protein shake. I got to the seated bike for about twenty minutes. Then I did 5 on the cross-trainer. My body was sore and it wasn't having any more. So I enjoyed a massage in the chair before I got ready to head back home again.
Washed up, changed clothes, had brekky. As it was a colder night with some wind, I was smart this time, and I got my warmer jacket. 😊 Arwen wanted the shorter walk, which was OK with me. When we got back, I switched my clothes again, and I got to the treadmill for an hour. My aim was half an hour, so I was really pleased that I managed to walk for a whole hour. 😊
While I was walking, I was using AI to create some alt texts for older images that I uploaded to my Flickr in the past. I have no idea if anyone will ever see the Alt texts, but it feels good to make some of my images more accessible. But yeah, even with AI helping, it's still a lot of work to get the texts to the images in Flickr. But, it was a good distraction, as I did manage to walk for an hour. 😊
I washed up again, changed clothes, and headed to the couch for some relaxing. I was rather tired, but unfortunately, my brain was too active to let me really relax.
I walked a short walk with Arwen. Then I was playing a game when my bestie called me. The school vacation was over and she had to work again. We had a nice chat till she arrived at her work. I played the game some more, and then I got ready to walk to the supermarket for some groceries.
Unfortunately, they didn't have all that I wanted to get... Which was a bit of a bummer. When I got back, I had some food and I walked Arwen again. After that, there was a wee bit of time to game some more, until it was time to get ready to head to Cuijk.
After Arwen had her meal and a short walk, I got my bags and I headed to Cuijk. A quick stop for a quick shower for Skoosh. The construction work had made her brown instead of white. I knew that washing her properly would not help much yet, as the construction work is still going on. But a rinse would protect the paint some, as there was so much sand and dust on her. When I aimed the pressure thingie on her, and water hit her, she was dripping with brown water! Iiiieeeeeuuuuwwww so gross! She wasn't all sparkling after a quick rinse, but it definitely was an improvement. As long as it will last.... 🤔
I went to the PT and waited till it was my turn. My physio was running a bit late, so I was getting a bit stressed, as I also had to visit Lidl after the session, and I needed to be back in time for walkies... The session was good, albeit a bit painful due to my bad elbow. Then, I got my groceries, and I headed back home again.
I just had time to clean up the things, as Arwen was very eager for walkies. We had a nice walk with N&B, and the weather wasn't too bad. When we got back, I relaxed a bit with some telly until it was time to get ready for bed.
Arwen went out for a wee and then it was sleepies time. It didn't take too long before I dozed off. I woke around 21 for the loo, and then I snoozed again until about 3 minutes before the alarm was set to go off.
So, I got up and started my day/night.

We're back from walkies.

We're back on another adventure. This time, I did check the temps and got a warmer jacket, especially since there is a colder wind. It's 7°C and dry at the moment, with a real feel of 5°C.
I didn't do too much at the gym, my sore muscles weren't happy with me. I managed about 20 minutes on the seated bike, and then I did 5 on the cross-trainer.
Arwen is a bit slow tonight, so let's see how this goes. Maybe we shouldn't go to the Herperduin? But I know that she always loves it... It's hard when you need to make choices like these. :parrot_sad: you want them to have the best time, but you also don't want them to do too much...
After this Toot, I'll go back to answering some sweet messages by a sweet friend. 😊 I tried to catch up at the gym, but my hands were struggling and there was a lot to read and reply to. Friend is sleeping now, so they won't mind if I reply later on, they're not waiting on it. 😊
Hopefully, I'll hear more about the PC delivery today... It should happen tomorrow so... Fingers crossed 🤞🏻. Hoping for an early delivery time, so I can play around with it. My plan is to bet it installed first, and when it's running, then I'll add the HD I have and the firewire card. Bit by bit...
I used to be so confident in doing things like this, but these days, I'm always afraid I'll mess up and make stupid mistakes. 😔
I'm playing with the idea of going to the zoo this Friday... The school vacations should be over, the weather doesn't look too bad, and it's been a while since I went... If all goes well with the PC delivery tomorrow, then I'll check with mum on Thursday, to see if she can watch Arwen for a few hours while I visit the zoo. 😊

Hide the food, cause I'm back! :dancing_kirby: well, I did snack too much yesterday, as the scale wondered if it were really me due to the weight change. But I also had IBS issues, so that may have caused some of the extra weight as well... 🫣 Sorry, TMI...
I had a good sleep! I fell asleep rather quickly and then I woke again, about half an hour before the alarm was set to go off. I really had to go, but yeah, I had a long sleep and I felt reasonably good, so that's a good start. 😊
I got emails that my parcels had been delivered at my neighbors two doors down. So that means I can pick up the vinyls later today and give them a spin! Yay... Otherwise I would have had to wait quite a few days, as this Monday is a holiday in the Netherlands, so no parcels then. So I'm very glad that my neighbors were able to accept them. I've tried it with my neighbors 5 doors down, but the delivery service things that's too far away... (cause the houses are just around the corner, it's less than 50 meters I guess and they always pass both the houses, as thetes no other roads in between, but still, they won't deliver there... 🤔). So yay for the other neighbors being home. 😊
I still feel bad about ordering the vinyls while I have to find a way to pay for Arwen's pills in two weeks... But my friend said I needed to get something for me, as I deserved that... Still hope I can make ends meet to find a way to pay for the pills in 1½ weeks, as they're quite expensive. 😔 Ugh... But they help her so well... I hope I can make things work, otherwise I may need to check my saving coupons but I don't think I've been able to save too much since I used them for her shot... She needs the pills after my bday, so maybe I'll get enough prezzies that it may cover some of the costs? 😔
But on the other hand, dad is helping me get a new PC! The laptop does it's best, but it's older than Arwen and it's struggling. Plus I am struggling as I don't know Linux well enough... The pc will need Windows for my old video editing software... But maybe some people can help me to make it a double boot, so I can learn more about Linux on it then as well. I will order the pc this morning, so hopefully I can get it somewhere next week... 🤞🏻 It's a very simple gaming pc, but I don't game on my pc too much, and my video editing was working OK on the old pc, so it should be OK on this new one as well. I've seen some awesome beasts on the website, but no money for that. This is a good one as well, or it should be, for what I want to do with it... I have a stand alone Blu-ray burner, so with windows, that will run as well, so I can use it to play disc's and to backup stuff... Can't wait to order it... 😊
I will add the specs (from the Dutch site). I know things could be way better. But within the funds and what I need... I'm very grateful to be getting this! I'll let altbot help me as this is a bit hard for me to describe.

It's a warmer night, and we're out and about for walkies again. It's dry with 14°C at the moment. I'll open the back door of the house again when we're back home, as it was almost 23°C indoors and that was a bit much for Arwen... I already opened the upstairs windows some, so that I can hopefully ride my bike a bit, before I crash on the couch with my laptop to work on my journal blog post... 😊
Today should be a more relaxing day. I rode the seated bike for 25 minutes and I used the cross-trainer for 5. Couldn't use the massage chair as one had been taken already... So hopefully I can ride my bike a bit after walkies. The scale wasn't too unkind this morning, so that was nice.
I even got a snap of the moon again! Finally it was bright enough and it was "up" long enough for me to take a snap... 😊 I edited it a wee bit and I'll ask altbot for some help with it.

I is back folks! It's too late to run! :pixy_party:
I had a good night! 😁 Woke once for the loo around 21, was like "way too early" and went back to sleep. Then startled as my alarm woke me! I almost got 7½ hours of sleep, even my watch was excited 😂 haha! My sleep score was 86, so not too bad at all, considering my watch hates it that I don't sleep between 23-3 😂.
Today should be a busy day. No garden work for me, as I'll be taking mum to Germany. Yesterday the shops were closed there, so we'll be going today. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that we'll be early enough, so it won't be too busy yet...
We will also visit the garden center again, so I can get the things I need for Arwen's corner. The funds are very low, especially as Arwen also needs her pills soon again (and they're so expensive :parrot_sad:). But they help her so well, so I gotta do what I can to make ends meed and to get her the meds... But if I can get the cloth, pins, and a simple outdoor carpet, then the corner should be made well enough for her to relax in the shade. As much as we can relax with all that noise... Can't wait for the weekend, when they don't work! 😂
But yeah, Germany, the Appie, Intratuin... It will be a busy morning for sure... So I guess that, when we get home, I'll be very tired...
It should be less warm today, which will be good, especially for the dogs. They say it should be a sunny day again, the last one for a few days, with 24°C. When I went to bed yesterday afternoon, my weather station said it was 31°C. Dunno how accurate it was, but it was very warm when I let Arwen out for the last wee. This weekend should be a bit cooler with maybe some rain? Next week, it has temps between 12-16°C, so cooler than this week, but not too bad overall... I'll add the forecast, just because I can. But I'll ask altbot to help me with it, as I'm not too good with snaps like these...
My body is sore. My right arm, shoulder, elbow, and hand are complaining when I move. Heck, my elbow even complains when I don't move... 😔 My lower back was giving me some issues as well, so I was glad for the pain meds before I went to bed. Today a rest from the garden, if weather allows, maybe I can finish Arwen's corner this weekend... My green bin is almost filled, and they won't empty it till next week, so I have to leave some space available for the food bits... If body and weather allow, I'll just keep digging out more weeds, and then I'll stack them. So when the bin is emptied next week, I can start to fill it again. I really want the garden to have less weeds. I had the anti-weed cloth for the front garden, but now, I wanna finish the back one first. I can't properly relax when I see all the weeds. (I can't really relax as long as the construction is being done behind the house). We should have some pavements again behind the house by the end of next week. Which means... They'll use the vibrating machine again to get all the stones in place... Which will drone through the house again... Wish I was less sensitive to sounds... 😔 Ah well.... Some day, it should all be done, and then, we should have a meat area where we can relax 🤞🏻.
Guess I'd better get some exercises done now! Will catch you in a bit, when I've written my journal Toot! 😁

Haha! I wish! But.... One part is more done than it was before I started....
The peace and quiet have gone for now, as the construction outside has started again...
But, some weeds have gone as well!!
Tomorrow, I'll head back to the garden center with mum, to get the things I need for "Arwen's corner". Hopefully she'll have some time to relax there...
(but with the construction going on, we may need to wait for their summer break to get some quiet... And I don't know if she'll make it till then.... Still, I'll do all I can to get that corner done ASAP!)
I'll ask altbot to help me with the video, as I really suck at that....

Well, some blogs are ready... It also shows the blog about the alt texts, that somehow got the link shared yesterday, even though it's still in the "to be posted" scheduled list... 🤔

I try to boost the posts when they go live, which usually is once a day, at 7AM CEST.

I'm glad that, years ago, I got myself some NC earplugs. They're a tad old and they probably need replacing at some point... But having them means that I can block out some of the awful noise from the construction work behind the house, and am able to focus on my book a bit.
Of course, reading in the garden would be better if the garden was free of weeds... And even better without the awful noises of the construction workers.... 😇
But I try to block that out, relax in the warmth of the sun, and to enjoy the book. It does help that I've read the book before, I could not focus on reading something new with all that noise...

We're back for our nightly walkies... :kirby_walk: it's a rather "warm" night, with 11°C at the moment. There is some humidity, but not much wind, so it doesn't feel too cold. 😊
I rode the bike for half an hour at the gym. I enjoyed the massage chair as well... I still need to do more. I keep saying that. I keep believing that. But my body and mind just won't do that...
After the surgery, and probably after I've lost my big love (I hope she won't leave me yet, but my autistic brain is being realistic all time, I should be able to shift my routine some. So I can go to the gym a bit later, so it hopefully will be less busy, and I'll feel more free to do more of the exercises. And I don't have to worry about being gone too long...
Arwen is enjoying all the sniffs, and I am enjoying the time spent with her. I need to work a bit on my blog on the laptop when we get home. And I may try to get some relaxing time in... But maybe... I can get myself to go upstairs and just ride the home trainer a short while... I do have to go upstairs anyway, to clean up the dry laundry... Maybe... :ablobcatangel:
Today will be a busier day. In the morning, Arwen and I will head to Nijmegen. Mum and I will visit a garden center where I can get some things for my garden. Can't get too much yet, but I need a good shovel and the anti-weeds cloth for the front garden at least. Maybe they'll have a nice flower pot on sale, and a water can, and a nice little flower. So I can add that to the front garden, next to my little sheep. I don't have many funds, so I need to do this gradually. But the cloth should help me with not needing to weed so much and so often...
And we'll need to head to Appie. Mum got the wrong muesli, and hopefully we can exchange it for the right ones... They aren't too cheap, so hopefully, we can get the right ones instead. Mum still has the receipt, so that should help... 😊
The dogs will probably want some walkies too, once we're done with the shopping and all... :annoyingdog:

I had a decent night! I slept in one go for a little over 6,5 hours. It's not much... But it's better than the 5,5 hours I've been getting lately... 😊 Even got a sleep score of 92, according to my watch.
The scale was a bit less enthusiastic. Which was a bummer... I really wish my body would be less sore/stressed, and my brain would be less tired... I miss working out properly, I miss the way it made me feel and look... But it just is all bläh and I can't seem to get it done... Ugh...
I didn't get to game yesterday. The weather was lovely, so I went to the garden with my eReader and I finished the latest Hunger Games series book... It was very good! Although I wasn't a big fan of the many poems/lyrics in the end. I have trouble reading those kind of things in the right way, if that makes sense... I mean, if I see a lyric and I know the music to it, it's easier to read, as I know "how it's intended to sound". But when I don't know it, I just don't know "how I should read it", and that makes it harder for me... But it was a good book, and I'm very grateful to @npub14jk…42l3 for gifting it to me. 💜
It was good to sit in the sun, and reading with the new sunglasses went very well. I was just very annoyed with all the weeds! 😂 So. Many. Weeds!
But I'll visit a garden center today with mum, and hopefully I can get some things for the gardens. I don't have many funds. Still, a lot of work to be done... But if I have the things I need, maybe I can finally get it done. My body won't like it...

Thank you for the link, yeah I saw that my name wasn't tagged in properly, hence I couldn't see it.
I do agree with Miraz, there are so many more gendere than the two, and then theres the mixed ones, where you experience both... And indeed, non-binary just seems to make sense in many ways...
I also liked the demigirl one, that @npub1t9v…ya35 told me about in another reply on the original Toot.
Yeah, I am a woman, but my idea of that just doesn't confirm with most of society's "rules" for women. So indeed, I agree with you and Miraz, we get to define our own ways of femininity and womanhood. :ablobcatheartsqueeze:
