Self-driving cars will have an impact on our society we might fin hard to comprehend.
The utility value of a car today is 5%, this means 95% of the time, a car is parked somewhere without being used.
As self-driving cars begin to enter the mainstream, there will be a cascading effect on so many aspect of society:
1. People might conclude they don't need to own a car if they can have one available 24/7. What happens to manufacturing and existing cars, and all the manufacturing jobs?
2. 94% of automotive accidents happen due to human error. Both Waymo and Tesla have said they will underwrite their own insurance when this goes mainstream. What happens to insurance companies and all the jobs?
3. There is an enormous amount of space dedicated to parking around cities, malls, schools, hospitals etc. What sort of impact will self-driving cars have on land value and population density?
4. What will happen to job-numbers and the overall economy as a result?
So interesting to even visualize what might be the result of this, and how society consolidates around it.

I'm intentionally reading and studying books on the US economy. I heard someone one on a podcast (wish I remember) say that to fully understand Bitcoin, one must understand why and how the current fiat system is broken.

Three days ago I decided to go on a dopamine detox. No X, YouTube (unless it's used for learning). It is to be replaced with reading, writing, creating for Nostr or spend time with loved ones.

Sure, they are to blame for misusing the system to their advantage, however not for the ability to misuse it.

fundamentally humans might be the same throughout the world. the conditioning we are exposed to and subjected to is not. as a Latino who grew up in Norway, the difference in the culture in a big city in Norway and a big city in Spain is palpable.
fighting the system from within is a choice one makes when one concludes that that's the best way to create a prosperous future. moving out to create a life that is independent from the system is simply a different choice, rooted in the same intention.
