Deeply concerned about cuts to NOAA (among so many other things) and the immediate danger to public safety this will cause, as we reverse course on addressing climate change 🤬 It feels like this regime has opened so many lines of battle that people are feeling overwhelmed and paralyzed as to where to even start. I hope I’m wrong, but that’s certainly how I’ve felt at times.

I won't be using Firefox anymore. LibreWolf is completely separate from them and they seem to be much more committed to user data privacy than Mozilla is.

Found out yesterday that the nursery I work at is going to stop selling even more invasive plants (discontinued Barberry and Burning Bush last year); next year, no more Mahonia, Nandina domestica, and I'm hoping Miscanthus will also be dropped. Instead we'll be increasing our stock of natives...adding Sourwood this year and native Styrax (Silverbell)

Fruit fly traps have become our new home decor, sadly. If they don't start going away in another week, we're calling pest control because we're at wit's end as to what they're going after, how they're getting in, etc.

Not sure if anyone else is seeing this but there's been an explosion in the number of houseplant stores in my area, I count at least three in/around Richmond, VA that have opened in the last few years. They sell (obviously) houseplants but also have workshops for potting up your own and creating terrariums. Interesting trend!

I hate that the Dems are nearly identical to the GOP on immigration. Less cruel in that they won't lock kids in cages like Trump did, but I find it hard to believe we can't find a way to welcome people fleeing violence and poverty. Instead we turn them away "sorry, we're closed."

Interesting. I would think the problem would be cardboard coated in that thin waxy material, and/or cardboard with a lot of lettering and graphics on it (the ink). I haven't seen any negative effects from plain cardboard in the few times I've used it so far.
