most filesystems are moving from in kernel support anyway. ZFS will never be in kernel support because CDDL is incompatible with GPL. Honestly, as someone who has used ZFS on linux for a good couple of years now there's not really a reason to avoid it. Works fine with distros like debian, ubuntu. Root on ZFS is supported by most major distributions at this point. Wifi drivers are fun. I stick solely to intel wifi chipsets at this point. I have been using linux since 14.04, broadcom & realtek/mediatek cards are just so sucky in general for linux. You can also just install zfs for your home directory. my storage server running ubuntu server is configured with a zpool independent of the OS installation. I used to have my account's home directory on my zpool but I got frustrated by some stuff like when my zpool was being hammered i couldn't actually log in to my account...

Well, you have to look at ERCOT & SPP. These are the power pools. ERCOT as a grid is extremely unstable because of course. This is frusturation with the grid genuinely being bad (for reference OG&E Oklahoma Gas & Electric basically run the entire grid in Oklahoma). They have uh issues because they're a government subsidized monopoly. They're a laughing stock in the state. Constant issues from above ground powerlines in a windy flood plain, not to mention their response time is exceptionally slow. During our ice storm we had some very bad over & under volting that destroyed electronics. OG&E offered to pay for destroyed electronics to all the people impacted... but then just didn't. The grid being stressed is nothing, because the thing is that money should be put into the power grid to keep it stable. I get that it's not easy to just build a substation (it really isn't the time it takes to build those massive transformers alone.) We have known about the solar flare issue... there's just not been attempts to harden our grid or make it any more stable for residential users. So, I would say all 3 really.

relay politics are interesting because relays (at least the relays i know) try to stay out of fedi meta/drama. it's kinda expected that you defederate instances that you don't want to federate with. I know some relay operators will ask that you contact them with concerns such as if you're having issues with another instance (things like uncontent warned nsfw if it's against relay rules) so that they can perform a moderation decision on the member instance. I have no idea how one moderates a relay tbh.

some relays are very weird with their rules. i would basically just want to make sure that i was abiding by relay rules before adding instances as to not annoy others. I've seen relays that go "no pornographic, nsfw content" which is like ok no?? my instance has a lot of that. there's also relays that try to enforce content warnings and some other stuff. Essentially I would just be making sure that what's allowed on the instance (ie instance rules & code of conduct) are compatible with the relay. It does nothing if I add a relay that has other instances incompatible with the rules. I hate relays that misrepresent members of them (transfem.social & shonk.social have NEVER added this relay to our relay tab https://relay.sigmundvoid.net/ but we are displayed on it for some reason [maybe because we have not denied federation with it? that seems stupid though relays are opt-in]).
tl;dr - I want to avoid causing a headache for the relay operator and my instances by ensuring we're "compatible".

I hate the mentality that follows are friendships. In terms of if you unfollow someone to curate your feed better you’re suddenly no longer friends with said person. There are people I talk to on a nearly daily basis who don’t follow me back. There are people I talk to that follow me that I don’t follow back. it’s not worded as either a good or bad thing. I think a lot of people on social media fall within some sort of learning disability. I mean, Learning disability as a phrase sucks because I mainly meant mental disorders but I don’t like calling them disorders. There’s a lot of people who have low self esteem and who need a lot of positive reaffirmation, social media feeds into this in a negative way. There’s so much more than just "oh insufferable discourse people are mentally impaired" I meant that there’s a lot of people who use social media in a lot of different mannerisms. You’ll find extroverts, introverts, people mixed. There’s a lot of patterns on the internet as well. I find it fascinating
