Hi brother Kris! I'm no longer an admin, having stepped down quite a while ago due to "real life pressures". People rarely pay only the bill and never more as it is considered a sign that your service was terrible, and would be considered very rude. In fact, I have heard people in-the-know about such things say that if you can't afford to pay a tip, you shouldn't even go out to eat.

July 16, 2026 (although I'm actually writing this on the 17th) This has been a week, between the heat and the smoke - wow! The highest AQI (air quality index) we got to, that I know of, was 461 (Thursday). The air was a sickly yellow-gray color, heavy, and thick. Between the triple-digit heat indices and the unbreathable air this has been quite a week so far! By the end of the day all that was left to do was go to bed early and see how Friday would work out so that's what I did...and now we'll see...I hope, wherever you are, you are safe!

June 12, 2026 @ 12:19 Good afternoon family & friends❣️ Very pleasant day today, upper 70s, breezy, sunny; we have the house opened up. I don't think the severe weather last night reached our area but so many places - in Michigan and other states - were hit pretty hard. I was watching my Ventusky weather app and it was just about as colorful in the upper midwest as I've ever seen it. Today no plans other than to go out for fish dinner to the same place we went last Friday, which is a little family-owned place that we "discovered", tried, and loved. So I guess we'll get back to our former habit of Friday Fish Dinner Dates, as we have in the past. Do have all of my posts and updates done for the day with links below as usual so unless something else comes up I want to share I will see you tomorrow. May 4, 2026 @ 19:46 Good evening family & friends❣️ Well, I've had absolutely NO time to get online today, so this is what I can put out there today. (And tomorrow won't be much different.) I worked on laundry today though with the incredibly bright sun hitting the back of the house and the aluminum ramp out the back door, I wasn't able to function well 🤕😵😣 after the first couple of loads...then the grands came and I was spending time with them, and after we took them home Pete and I stopped for a burger and sat down by the river and ate. Now I'm completely wiped and about to hit the hay because tomorrow is therapy so I guess I will see you in the morning, if I'm up and at 'em before we have to leave. Good night❣️🙇‍♀️🥱🛌🌛

MARCH 31: Though I have errands today (Sam's Club, pet store mainly), the plan is to cut all of my 2025 content from the chia.owly.net page and put it into a separate "archive" file. I will then (not today I'm sure) only have approx 3 months to work with. In addition, as time goes on, I need to simplify as there are so many posts/updates on that page, each of them having a ton of code and data. So lots of the colors and little pretties and other flotsam and jetsam, going back to Jan. and then onward, won't be "clogging up the pipes". Or, in the support tech's words, "Your index page is extremely large and that causes the excessive memory usage...[some suggestions I don't yet understand, and]...I strongly recommend that you reduce the number of posts this page contains." So that's my plan, starting by reducing the number of posts on the page as I described above. Then I can start updating again and taking the time and brain effort for the "good stuff" (dailies, Don's posts, music, etc.) while I do the rest. And so it goes...

Trouble In Paradise Again!
After yesterday's apparent success, this morning I was unable to work on my main site page again. March 27, 2026 @ 12:40 Good afternoon family & friends❣️ I woke up about 90 minutes ago to bright sunshine and hot water. (When Pete hears me stirring he often heats my tea water for me and covers it so it's ready to start steeping when I get to the kitchen.) Looks like our high today will be 32°F and clouds moving in later. The grands will be here after school for a while but other than that no plans today. March 23, 2026 @ 08:13 Good morning family & friends❣️ It's a cold one here, 32°F with an expected high of 34°F. I don't think I'm going anywhere today anywhere though. Had a fun weekend with the grands, and will post pictures later; they'll be back after school for a while, as they do on Mondays and Fridays. March 21, 2026 @ 15:15 (! - I couldn't have planned this, after 20:20 last night!) Good afternoon family and friends❣️ Well today got off to a rough start 🤕😵😣😴 but we're getting through it! The grands are here, their dog went home this morning when Pete took Leelan over to take care of the livestock. When they got back Pete took a good long nap and I have been working on this blog for nearly 4 hours! That's how it goes with kids around right? Lyra made some deviled eggs - delicious! - and Luna is taking a nap. Leelan is playing something on his Nintendo Switch while Umpa watches a movie. Lyra is now creating some beautiful artwork on her sketch pad. So it is (now, at least) a quiet and laid-back kinda day. Very dark and cloudy out and there's definite chill in the air - my phone says it's 42°F and feels like 35°F. Anyway, not much to report; this will likely be my only post today so I will see you tomorrow unless something interesting comes up later. I hope you are enjoying your weekend❣️🙌✝️🎶😆🥩🌿💐👴👵🐕‍🦺🦜

Good evening family & friends❣️ Kids are here, though 2 of them are with Pete/Umpa at their house, taking care of the livestock and picking up their dog to bring back with them. I'm about to go to bed, though I just spent a very enjoyable hour with Lyra, the 11YO granddaughter. March 20, 2026 @ 10:43 Good morning family & friends, and happy spring❣️ Just a few minutes ago, as the clock struck "Springtime", I put out my first spring decoration (seen here, on my site). And it is only beginning! As I'm able I will working on the house and yard on every nice day we have. Meanwhile, today I'll be getting things ready or the grands...not that there's much to do, but having dinner ready to prepare with pots and ingredients set out as an example...Leelan's bedding pulled down from the shelf...things I won't have to think about later when there is more chaos (as opposed to when only Pete & I are here) going on. March 18, 2026 @ 14:38 Good afternoon family & friends❣️ I hope you are having a good week. By the time I got up after my usual 10-12+ hour nap Pete had already left for his appointment; he just texted that he's on his way home now. I used the alone time to choose and work on my worship song to record later today, and have something to eat. (I'm doing an experiment which I will write about on my other site when I see how it went.) And then I've been working on the morning updates and mini-devo/study. I do plan to also do Wednesday Wags, once I get some more meme hunting done. It is very chilly in the house today though in the mid-30's outside but it is going to be warming up for a few days. March 15, 2026 @ 22:00 Good evening family & friends❣️ I slept most of the day, when I got up I recorded my Sunday Selections (a much simpler version than typically), and then got Don's Guest Post up. Weather was much worse when I got up than when I went to sleep, and is supposed to get violent during the night with winds in the 70-80mph range, depending on which weather guesser one asks. I have never experienced winds that high but hope I sleep through them...if I'm awake I will play music through my headphones. So many people I know and love are in much worse paths of it today and tonight - Gwen & Don in KY, my sisters-in-Christ Cathy and Annette, my bestie Heidi in MO, J&E in another part of MI - praying for all of them today and through the night...I will see you tomorrow, please be safe among the weather no matter where you are❣️🙇‍♀️🥱🛌🌛

Pileated woodpeckers are huge. We had a family them where we last lived, the male grew quite tame with my husband actually and would come within a few feet of him. They are typically shy and though people often hear them, they'd rather not be seen. (I've heard of more sightings in the last few years though).

March 14, 2026 @ 13:37 Good afternoon family & friends❣️ Bright and sunny day here, mid-30s, before the "big storm" moves in later. No snow now, but we'll see what happens later. Zoey is here doing her thing - gotta love the sound of the vacuum sucking up debris, eh? Didn't sleep well, last night's experimental supper was excellent but my stomach, being used to animal-based with minimal plants, objected most of the night. However, it was worth it! I'm already thinking about what my next experiment will be. I'm thinking of alternating Caturdays with different Saturday content...good cat memes are getting harder and harder to find and I'm seeing other topics on my hunting expiditions that I'd like to try - just throwing that out there. March 13, 2026 @ 20:48 Good evening family & friends❣️ Today was a good day, though I'm exhausted and ready for bed of course :). Did get my comments and emails caught up, did enjoy the grands while they were here; I'd picked up an 8-book set of Beatrix Potter books this week for 6YO Luna, and we enjoyed reading 3 of them together. The books also came with sticker sets and she enjoyed adding those too. Then I started our (Pete's and my) meal, as I've been craving Chinese food - or at least the American version of it - and was ready take a stab at it. The interesting result I reported on my ChiaChow chat site, with a photo (linked below). Then this evening I've been doing some meme hunting and will be going to bed as soon as I get the PoiBoiz tucked in. And that was my day. March 12, 2026 @ 21:31 Good evening family & friends❣️ Well we're getting storm warnings all over the place now, high winds supposed to begin in the middle of the night for starters...I may be up late anyway as I ended up sleeping for quite a while this afternoon, longer than usual. Pete had a ham club meeting and I got up shortly before he got home tonight. But I still had a chance to play my keyboard earlier and do some other things. I don't know about you, but I'm really caught up in Don's story, The Unsettling! I will be very sad when this one ends. Learning a lot too, because I know how he researches his subjects.
