Sure, the UTXO growth gets a bit closer to the theoretical max, but I'm guessing it's less than 1MB per block.

A Bitcoin that can be governed by politicians passing laws, influencing public company miners, is not interesting to me.
Spammers will always find ways around any filters we build. You can send a message by disallowing some formats, but it's probably not going to have a big impact.
Excitement around using spam is low. Block space is cheap, so it still makes it in.
There's a max size limit on blocks regardless of how much spam they contain. FUD about hard drive space is fake news.

Socialism breaks down because of problem solving having to jump through so many middlemen:

So much value gets lost along the way, but also suffers from distance between person wanting to solve the problem and the solver/producer.

I think these "newer" associated views are mostly more correct than their opposites. Agree that they discourage adoption. Probably bad, but how it biases who adopts might not be too bad. Individualists prefer sovereignty and collectivists prefer implicitly trust-based organization after all.

GC vs Borrow checker is down to trade-offs. The former is a well proven strategy, probably easier to implement and less verification work for the compiler. For the time Go was released, it's understandable they went with GC.
Agree on the learning curve.
Would be interesting to see a third language, striving for simplicity and fast compilation but with borrow-checking.
