Hadn’t messed with the POW address generator in a bit, just realized capital letters would be ignored resulting in endless generation
Just pushed a quick fix, it should auto replace capital letters now

I’d be curious to know how you see PoW fitting into liking/posting - I know for a little while there was a relay that only accepted events from addresses with x amount of leading zeros but it was just a test of the idea and I think the relay is shut down now

Got a new phone and can’t seem to add relays for that public key, and the same key can’t seem to fetch messages
Also the profile picture url seems to be stored but it’s not showing up - I think a few months ago there was a pixel/size limit but I can’t remember what it was

Ah ok appreciate it - it’s a pub key with 8 leading zeros though and took a second to mine so not sure if I want to log into any web clients with it, just wanted to test connecting to some POW relays so though nbd

Tried mining some proof of work keys on an AWS ec2 instance just to try it out, used an instance with 192 cpu cores and got 8 leading zeros in a few minutes.
Not the best key security but fun after mining a couple 8 zero addresses on a super old 4 core laptop

Just published https://www.nostr.rest/ which is a web solution for mining nostr POW keys. Keys don’t have to start with zero, so you can also just mine a pub key that starts with c0ffee or something like that

How long did it take you to mine your key? I made nostr.rest to mine keys but I thing the iterative function isn’t super efficient

Any risk in offering free NIP-05 verification on a site I have? I would add keys manually so bots couldn’t spam verify via my site - I am thinking the largest risk is relays blacklisting my domain if someone I verify does something I don’t anticipate
