Kids are fucking wild. My youngest exists on almost 50% carrot cake and is ripped as fuck and has a visible six pack for no reason. (She did gymnastics, ice skating, and fucks around for hours on the trampoline for fun)

The ac is 1600-1800w so the peak is going to be pretty high worst case scenario. I like to oversize stuff and maybe someday we will have more people camping and drawing more power. It was 90 when I went last and fuck being outdoors so we hooked up the steam deck to a tv along with the kids switches.

2026-07-18 18:29:40 UTC

Honestly its easier having it all in the camper if the battery is self heated anyway because with the kids my house is kinda full with not very many spots for all this hardware.

2026-07-18 18:28:55 UTC

- reply

Probably since im running the ac during my excursions and let the generator rest. Thats why I wanted the 4kw inverter.

Yeah, I'm using this as an experiment because I have sank the money anyway. But I need 8k total to go off grid. I have a fish tank and a couple computers that are monsters.

Regardless of me hooking anything else up, im putting this controller in the rv. I just thought I might try to be cheeky.

Oh I just meant in my use. They cranked the fuck out of my rates for ai.

I want a 4,000 watt inverter anyway and my other options cost more than this along with being piecemeal. I also do have batteries.

Im estimating even with that small setup I would save $50 minimum to $75 a month.

The point is to not waste the money I spent on solar equipment for only 30 days of camping.

2026-07-18 18:03:54 UTC

- reply

Im going to do that, but the controller/inverter is going to be in the rv. So 28-40 days a year it will not be on site.

2026-07-18 17:44:55 UTC

The most boomer idea has came upon my head. I will hook 1kw of solar to my rv through this bitch. Then put 3kw more in the back yard. Have an electrician run cables to safely connect the rv to the breaker panel, and also to the ones in the yard. When I go camping disconnect the 3kw and let it lay fallow, then reconnect when home.
