I find oatmilk doesn't work in hot drinks regardless of brand.
I love it on cereal or in a smoothy, but jot hot drinks.
My preferred for hot drinks are either soy of almond. Rice milk at a push is OK.
But depends on personal preference and tolerance.

Lol, sorry, I meant its used like the F bomb. It can be said as a short sharp expletive "Merde!", a long drawn out one "meeeeeeerde", a surprised expletive "oh merde!", you can call something rubbish "C'est de la merde", and even a fatalistic expression "eeeet meeeeerde 😔"

I dont know, to be honest. Some apps that require Google services may not work, but from what I understand, its otherwise comparable. That's why it only works on Pixel phones.
If I could do it on my Nothing Phone, I totally would.

I introduced my boys to British policing, which has no (or little) guns. Fortunately, I was in the police at the time, so I could take him to a custody cell and make him see the behind the scenes. He even sat in the police helicopter.

It did yes, she went in there and bossed it. She says this role is literally made for her, so it's _almost_ a no brainer. The manager is "a pompous arse" and the parking isn't great, but it could literally make her career, so she's 99% there. Hopefully they accept the counter offer and she'll be happy.
If not, she's already got a new job with a big pay rise, but it wouldn't be as challenging.

I'd always written off the Star Wars Sequels (7, 8 and 9). But I've just finished 8, and below the surface, it's not a terrible film.
Of course it doesn't hold a candle to the original trilogy, or the prequel trilogy, but it's not too bad.
7 was just a ripoff of 4, but after that, they did create a new arc. I guess you _could_ argue is a rehash of 6 (the 'emperor' is defeated by the light, the rebellion survives against all odds), but there's more to it than that, I think.

There is a small (very small) part of me saying I should be proud for taking the chance to go out on my own and making something of my holidays. Ok, tonight kinda backfired, but I still made the effort to go out and socialise. Ok, I didn't buck up the courage to talk to anyone, but I still went out, and stayed out when I'm realised the error.
Maybe I should stop seeing this as a failure and a small success for going out and being "brave". It was still a good night out!

Sorry fedi, just need to clear my head, as writing my journal in a club would be too weird, even for me.
I came to Cambridge to try and "go on the pull" (I hate that phrase, but it's as close as I can get). So far, I've failed to find pubs, eaten and drank alone and gone to a club full of kids.
My brain is shaming me for being such a loser, and thinking I could even do it. I came to a club to flirt, and all the people here are the same age as my son (or younger).

I'm really starting to like Star Wars: Andor. It seemed really unrelated to the Universe. But I'm starting to see that it's actually a warning of what's to come first in the US, and maybe the world. The episode where it really hit home was episode 7: Announcement. I won't spoil it, but watch that and tell me we're not seeing the beginnings of this in the US? When I moved in July/August, I was wearing a pear of blue jeans. It took me till.the evening to realise they had split from the top of the butt to the half way down the thigh and I was showing off my arse 😂

Decided to go visit my local craft centre today, which houses my LYS (Local Yarn Store) and forgot how much I loved being surrounded by yarn.
Found a couple of possible contenders for wool choice for my first big project. I'm not making it easy on myself by trying to find all natural fibres, or with as little plastic as possible.
I found one brand that uses biodegradable polyamide, so that's really cool!

The problem I have with crafting websites and products in general is they are mostly geared to a feminine audience. Nothing wrong with that, of course, they're appealing to their largest demographic. But some non-fem people craft too, ya know! I get you'll get a better return on fem stuff, but come on, give us masc people some stuff too!
I'm not saying it has to be flight cases and tactical gear. But maybe stuff a bit planer and not so... Cutesy?

Because of @npub1jpy…yfwv who shared their project, I got some supplies over the weekend to learn Tunisian Crochet. The hooks and yarn are cool, but the book that arrived today was very poor.
For a book teaching you how to do a complicated craft, there were 0 pictures. The author just says "insert hook into the first bar and continue across the row" 😒
Instantly got a refund and don't even need to return it.
New book ordered.

Yes, the mixed signage was the concession the EU made. We could keep the imperial system as long as we also labeled things in metric. It's pretty dumb. You pay for a litre of petrol, but measure in miles per gallon. You pay for a kilo of flour, but the recipes are in pounds and ounces. You have half mile till your exit, then it's coming up in 200m it's just batty!

Besides, if we did rejoin, we'd have to join the euro. And use metric measurements. They'd never let us keep imperial as a new member.

Because my condition is so weird, I have to go to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital (who did the operation 39 years ago). To help the kids cope, the have a TV upside down on a wall behind the MRI and they put a mirror over your head so you can watch it. Unfortunately, they only have kids films like Peppa Pig, Barbie and Thomas the Tank Engine. Last time I went, I was lucky they had a copy of Pirates of the Caribbean. 🤣

I've had several MRI's on my heart (congenital heart defect, basically have a backwards heart) and they are loud and cramped and weird. And my mind goes through the same thoughts every time. "hope I passed that penny I swallowed 38 years ago!", "do I need to sneeze?" "Why didn't I bring my own video to watch?"

As long as she has an aerial and an appropriate TV, she can tune it and get digital TV.
All TVs sold in the last 5-10 years are digital, so as long as her TV is reasonably modern, it should be fine.
As for aerials, you can buy external ones that work reasonably well (depending on location).

Will most likely reformat my laptop to KDE rather than Gnome when I get my desk set up.

Using a decommissioned work laptop to install @npub1du2…f6r3 to see what a Linux foldable laptop would be like. I like the idea of it replacing my tablet, which is a Huawei and is now about 4 (5?) years without update.
If it is a good replacement, I can look at finding a cheapish foldable laptop (this work one is a Dell 5290 2 in 1) online and finally retire the excellent but now flawed Huawei.
