We used these Bluetooth helmet "radios" by Sena, and they were extremely helpful on long rides where we couldn't bike side by side, such as when we moved house by bike. But these were mediocre helmets, if either the Bluetooth or helmet dies you must replace both, and annoyingly you had to pair the helmets every time.

Anyway, I do think it's overused in some kids bikes. The weight of the fork makes the bike harder for smaller humans to handle and doesn't provide much in terms of comfort.

I recently got my first bike without a kick stand. My friend saw me struggling to keep it upright and lock it and he told me how people without kickstands will balance the bike by resting the crank arm and pedal against the rack. This keeps the bike steady and prevents the paint from being damaged.

I was looking at an extra / extended range battery for longer rides (e-assist for the hills and mountains).
Once I saw the cost, I sold my 5 year old ebike and used the money from that, plus what I would've spent on a new battery, to buy a new bike. I figure this way I have new tires, brakes, etc.

A3. Hmm.. I don't know if I can think of anything offhand that is completely overrated, because I'm sure that what doesn't have much value to me might be of use to others..
I know many people love them, but I have never found a Brooks saddle to be comfortable for my sit bones.
I don't view them as overrated.. they just don't seem to work for me. I'll think on this one and maybe come up with a better answer later..

I've noticed that in my own life, a lot of community ties have been forged through cycling. Somtimes by riding together, but many times by being outside and able to interact with others.

It's easier to get another Cateye, but what about Magicshine or Cygolite?
Q4b. I like GoPro mounts as I have a peak design phone holder w/a connection underneath but the state of bike lights is a mess. I want USB-C, max ~800 lumens. Garmin has smart options but I don’t use bike computers.

Some of my colleagues have small dogs that they want to have ride in a front basket.
Q6. What are some best practices for setting up a front rack/basket for carrying a pet? How do you help a dog feel comfortable and not fall out if you hit a bump, or want to jump out? Do you have specific products you'd recommend?
