Because ABC News did its job, by pointing out Trump's outrageous lies during his debate, Trump threatened to shut down the entire ABC network.
Trump's threat was successful. CBS News is now refusing to fact-check their vice presidential debate.
Democracy cannot survive if the press surrenders to fascist threats like that.

In particular about residents of the Gaza Strip, who are some of the most vulnerable and long-suffering people on the planet. It's important that every American understand what Sanders is doing to us.
This is a 2020 Lindsey Graham ad. Graham won by running against Sanders, instead of against his actual opponent. He portrayed Sanders as a radical leftist, and as the face of the Democratic Party (though he's not even a Democrat).

No matter how Dems vote on this resolution, they split their constituency and lose votes.
If they vote for it, some will see them as trying to disarm a close US ally at a time when it's facing an existential threat from Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists and the entire Iranian military. If they vote against it, some will see that as supporting Netanyahu's horrific crimes against humanity.
Either way, Trump wins, Dems lose. Sanders knows that. It's never stopped him before.

Sanders is doing exactly what he's been doing throughout his 33 years in Congress: building his own political and commercial brand by hurting Democrats, thereby helping Republicans, knowing full well that he's hurting the people whom he's pretending he wants to help. In this case, Palestinians (and Israelis too).
He's trying to force a vote on his resolution, which provides a political win for Republicans who vote against it, and hurts Democrats no matter how they vote on it.

I'll try to help you understand. Sanders knows that his resolution has zero chance of passing, let alone blocking any arms sales. So why is he introducing it? NYT is just openly excusing outright racism. Trump is not merely TELLING outrageous racist lies, but making those lies the very focal point of his entire campaign. This is extremely abnormal. For as long as I've been alive, I have never seen this in any state-level or national election, prior to Trump.

Agreed. We can expect to see a massive National Guard presence at the Capitol this time. The FBI won't be able to suppress intel about the coming coup attempt like they did in 2020.
OTOH, the GOP is now more unified and galvanized in its support for revolution. It will send a better organized and more heavily armed terrorist army this time.
Also, in 2020, SCOTUS was still trying to uphold the law. In 2024, SCOTUS is overtly at war against the United States.
