honestly if big tech services outside hardware went away tomorrow, after a brief panic we'd all calm down and find replacements. Like everyone would.
In particular I've seen my kids over the last decade or so adopt new platform time and again, and drop most.
Social media, search, these are fungible.
Apropos of nothing in particular.

ironically it might be good for the traditional financial industry–the alternative is bitcoin, or some other crypto or stablecoin. (True Fans uses bitcoin).
Web Monetisation is a technology for fast, low friction, effectively free money transfer, but it integrates with the traditional financial system (including anti money laundering stuff like KYC).

this brought to you by me currently editing a bunch of talk transcripts. I doubt many people have watched as many talks with the focus I do when editing transcripts.
I also have an eye to accessibility since we convert slides to accessible HTML, and this is essentially impossible with live coding.
Whoever invented live coding in presentations? how did it *ever* take off? Why does anyone think it is in anyway a good way to present? It is excruciating to watch. Excruciating.

I know people often don't like to watch their own presentations but it really helps you improve.
And particularly if you live code in your presentations–please watch. You'll likely find it sobering-the long pauses, the truncated sentences, the lack of focus on the audience.
Then there's the almost impossible to follow code that flashes constantly with autocomplete, thetiny tiny text.
Trust me, you simply can't present well and code at the same time same time, and it should be outlawed.

if I were running Apple AI I'd first and foremost ensure autocorrect weren't worse than when the original iphone came out.
There should never be a typo or contextually incorrectly chosen word, and the UI around typing (the #1 user input action by far on phones, laptops, tablets) has not changed in decades (as I typed this autocorrect suggested 'decaes')
start thinking about AI as a way to improve product experience, develop those muscles, not BS greenfield IMAGINE keynote fodder".

for those (including Apple) concerned about the impact of side loading apps on privacy and security–there is a web established solution, Web Apps.
Now thanks to Apple's approach to browser engines on iOS (slowly being changed thanks to a number of regulators around the world but *really* thanks to @npub1kn4…3asa) web apps are a worse experience in some ways on mobile (fewer APIs like NFC and BT) and a dire install experience.
But it is possible to deliver sophisticated web apps.
