According to @flathub stats for 2025, the marketshare of ARM-based #Linux didn't even crack 2%.
Do you think those low numbers might be due in part to so many people installing and running Linux on older hardware? Or is it because new Linux-compatible ARM hardware is hard to come by? Would love some insight on this!
(Also surprised more people aren't trying out Asahi Linux on Apple Silicon machines…it rocks!)

The macOS Safari way of installing standalone web apps based on *any* web page (also the Vivaldi way, which I use constantly) is undoubtedly the correct way.
I’m testing out iPadOS 26 right now, and yes it’s crashing regularly and glitchy in all sorts of ways. But that’s Developer Beta 1 life, baby. The functionality is definitely awesome, and I’m sure it’ll tighten up even more as we approach later public betas.

The way Apple has been proven in a court of law to view App Store developers with such little regard is an absolute disgrace. If I were an iOS developer, I would be livid.

It’s only a matter of time.
I have little confidence the “ATmosphere” will be a thriving ecosystem of millions of users and thousands of services spread across the globe with Bluesky playing only a modest role in the administration of the network.
I don’t see any incentives for this to happen, and the people who are out there promoting what is in reality vaporware may have good intentions but are ultimately doing true decentralized social networking (aka the Fediverse) a grave disservice.

You might hear in major publications reporting such as
“In time, the idea is that many communities will be built on Bluesky, some with their own infrastructure, moderation services, and even client applications”
and
“Eventually, the hope is that Bluesky will be one of many entities that run the infrastructure needed to support the growing number of applications built on the AT Protocol”
In other words, such decentralization is presently an article of faith, rather than a tangible reality.

Bluesky has done a great job of advertising that because it's “decentralized”, that means it’s billionaire-proof.
That’s the marketing pitch. Don’t like what Bluesky is doing? You can take your business elsewhere—without losing your followers and your data.
The problem is, that promise has yet to be fulfilled in any way! Which service might a major influencer migrate to?
Such a service doesn’t exist, and I see no evidence any such service will spring up any time soon.

Several exciting 25th anniversaries are coming up for fans of Mac OS X and those early days of the Jobsian Mac renaissance. One such anniversary is the unveiling 25 years ago of Aqua, the "lickable" 3D interface which would go on to revolutionize how user interfaces are created and rendered in modern operating systems.
As part of Aqua, the Dock was demonstrated—a combination taskbar & launcher which was based in part on the Dock in NeXTSTEP.
