You just made my point: if L1 is too expensive for retail to use, the security budget would get paid by the few who can afford it (whales, banks, states). Is that what Bitcoin is about?
The peasants use banks L2 channels and L1 is controlled by them?

It's just a way to visualize the massive flaw on mining incentives.

2026-10-04 14:18:19 UTC

Bitcoin's security budget is a bet on price.
Let's talk about what secures Bitcoin: the block reward = subsidy + fees.
Fees? Currently under 1% of the total block reward (lightning solves this huh 😉).
For the current mining incentives to survive, price must double every halving.
So here's the honest question, bitcoiners: do you really think Bitcoin will hit $4.16M per coin by 2048 or does the security budget slowly die while you stack sats?
One of those futures is real. Pick.

The funny thing is that this is a real problem with Bitcoin.
If we go far enough into the future (like when they compare Bitcoin to gold), how many coins will be lost in 100, even 1000 years, if Bitcoin is still around?

2026-09-14 12:18:15 UTC

Just found out that Nano-GPT does TEE too.
Seeing their monthly crypto reports, Monero is predominant in their payments. I wonder what that looks like on @nprofile…qagl.
Which provider do you guys use?

Burning Bitcoin is a real issue, capped at 21m, enough lost keys really kills circulation.
We have tail emission, coins are lost but new ones are created.
Maybe you should learn about Bitcoin.

I meant the UTXO model not the confirmation lock. In Monero new UTXO have a 10 block lock.

2026-09-13 17:21:23 UTC

- reply

It works like Bitcoin with UTXOs, when you spend a UTXO the change that goes back to you (or when you receive a new transaction) has a 10 block confirmation lock, after 10 confirmations you can spend it.

Everyone should have a public Monero address on their nostr profile.
It's just a NIP-A3 event of kind 10133, with a payto tag pointing at your XMR address. Here's the minimal way using nak:
nak event -k 10133 -c '' -t 'payto=monero;YOUR_XMR_ADDRESS' --sec YOUR_NSEC -r wss://YOUR_RELAY1 -r wss://YOUR_RELAY2

Trusting AI companies with our data is a mistake. Running open-weight models locally is one of the most powerful ways we have to reclaim our privacy. The problem is that most of us can't run trillion-parameter models locally without expensive hardware.
So I've been looking for ways to access these models without sacrificing privacy, and found that Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) were the right fit for me.
For those unfamiliar: TEE means your data is encrypted inside the processor itself while the model runs. The provider can't see it, can't access it, and can't modify it. Trust moves from their promise to the hardware.
I found @nprofile…etsy , where I can pay with Monero and use their proxy for their private/* models (including Kimi K3, GLM 5.2, DeepSeek v4 Flash, among others) which run inside TEEs, without even creating an account.
Of course, I wasn't just going to take their word for it so I ran a security audit using Kimi K3 on the private mode proxy (https://github.com/PayPerQ/ppq-private-mode-proxy), and the tinfoil.sh SDK (their provider for private AI models) to make sure it's legit.
The audit surfaced 10 findings, which I've already reported to Matt (founder of PayPerQ), but it looks pretty good.
Curious to hear if anyone else is experimenting with TEE AI.
