The thing is I actually hate superheros, and not just superhero media. I don't want to watch superheros ironicly either. They're dumb and insincere and I don't want any of them in any media I consume.

The first time I heard of this show was after I told someone I hated super heros and they immedietky recommended it (a super hero show) based on that. I think that experience added greatly to my insanity.

I think the main problem, especially with regards to video games, is that technology is changing to fast. Life is fundamentally different from one generation to the next and it messes up your perception of history.

Worked for the first time in a long time today. Dug holes for ~ five hours. Got a sunburn on one arm and not the other. Wore a hat so no sunburnt neck or face. Hats are good.

The issue is that it's obvious looking at the fan art that no thought is given to the characters or story, they're just dress up dolls for the artists. The same thing happened to NGE which is why the reputation of the show is so far removed from reality.

We used to have tons of legends, about cowboys and mountain men and lumberjacks and lakemen and river men etc. It however was right in it's final stage of development when mass media, radio and eventually tv, arrived and one shot the cultural development of Americans. Americas age of legend was only 200 and some odd years ago, the myths were still being writen. It wasn't just chance, there was a very intentional move away from folk stories to cosmopolitan fiction. One of the most tragic events in history, so many rich cultures cut down right as they were about to finalize.

I must defend outsourced opinions. It's a nessasary thing in order to exist in a society. One simply cannont form an informed opinion on most things; it's not possible. So they must outsource this to others. To complain about it is to complain about post agricultural society, where specialization exsists.

I've found my favorite parts of it aren't the rpcs themselves, but the lore hubs. I like the attention to considering how the organization works beurocraticly and logisticly; and the general character of those who make up the various branches.

Isn't there? If it's just a momentary disconnection you could draw a lime between the last known position and the position when reconnected and have a collision check travel along it. Seems like you'd want to do this to account any brief communication loss, as is bound to happen occasionally.

This has already been done. Saw it a while ago butI don't remember the name, but there's a game about teams of knights racing to get to the center of the map. They ride horses that drift like mario kart and reload their guns with no less than a second of spinning. They heal by snaking wads of bandages into their arms while that needle injection sound effect that pops up everywhere plays.

I prefer when things like this aren't localized and are left to translation notes for explanation (I really love it when people anotate their translations). That doesn't seem like it'd work well with video games though; usually you can leave the note in a footnote or after a chapter end near where relevent but there's no good place to put the note in a game.

Changing the discriptiom is also fixing the bug, just deciding that the text is wrong and not the mechanics. Decdimg which is correct is ultimately an artistic decision and as such invokes authority over the work, which translators as a rule should not do.

Okay what is a young person actually supposed to do to save money nowadays? Cash? lol. Stocks? Hope your 401k didn't go into anything that crashes in the next 40 years. Land? If you have enough money to invest in real estate you've made it already. Cyrpto? That's allways been wildly unreliable; for speculating and dark net markets (a worthy use case to be fair). Metals? Those were supposed to be the thing but those crash too now. I actually just don't see a reliable way to have money saved against inflation. I don't want to risk it to get rich, I just wanna stop getting poorer and not have to work retail in my eighties.
