Yes, Flameshot works on Wayland, X11, Windows, macOS, BSDs, and even OpenSolaris based OSs like Tribblix. We also package for ARM64 and ARMhf architectures.

📣 We have released thr **beta** version of v14 . This release has some major changes to Flameshot. Please read rhe release notes especially if you are using multiple monitors.
Here are _some_ important takes in brief:
- when multi-monitor setup is detected, user is asked for the target monitor
- On x11 and windows you can capture active monitor directly
- Windows users can use keybindings other than PrintScreen
- comprehensive Nix flake
- Better support for Cosmic

I manually triggered them. They should be now ready. Just explain why they were expired, it is because running Arm builds take 38 to 52 minutes per run, and for that reason we have separated them from our daily builds. So any time you need them and they were expired, send us a message and we will manually run it. Maybe later I set it to automatically run weekly or biweekly, but for now it is run on demand.

We are in process of getting ready for releasing v14.0.0 in which many Wayland issues such as HiDPI and muli-resolution multi-monitor issues are addressed. You can try getting the latest CI builds from our Github and see if it has solved your issues. If you don't know how to, we have a small help page about that:

📣 We have made some major changes to handle multi-monitor setup. Users with multiple monitors with non-rectangular alignment or those with different scaling factor were previously facing issue. With the new update, the user is asked to select the target monitor. This is a cross-platform solution that universally works.
This will be included in the next release, but those who are building from the source or using AUR can try it now. Feedbacks are as always welcome.

It seems Imgur, has quietly dropped API support for new users. If you already have an API key, it still works, but no nee keys can be generated. So it is more likely to see some errors in Imgur uploading regardless of the Flameshot version. Be aware that this has nothing to do with Flameshot.

📣 #Flameshot 13.2.0 is now released. This minor release is mainly aiming to improve for mixed DPI screens. This is *not* an ultimate fix, but it have been reported to help the issue for many Windows and X11 users. Please be patient while we try to find a solid fix for this issue.

If you are experiencing "Unable to capture" error on Wayland, especially on Ubuntu or Fedora Gnome, regardless of your installation method, give screenshot permission to Flameshot through xdg-portal by running this in terminal:

I also just realized. If you are on Gnome Wayland and you get this error when you use keyboard shortcut but Flameshot works fine from terminal, then this is something that's as far as I understand out of our hand as Gnome has changed some stuff about shortcuts. Follow the steps mentioned here to get it fixed:

Just a correction: imgur uploader is not a separate program. It is disabled by default and if someone needs it, they can enable it during the compile time with a compile flag. In future we are planning to migrate it to a plugin and keep the Flameshot lean and specific to screenshot and annotation.

Try Flameshot on X11 or on Wayland, and see for yourself. It simply works. Wayland has some rough edges that we are working on, but it works. Give it a try. We support Gnome, Plasma, Cosmic, Sway, Niri, River, Hyprland,... and labwc is wlroot-based, so it works.
To capture a monitor, use `flameshot screen --number 1`, to capture part of a monitor interactively, run `flameshot gui`, or part of a screen automatically, run `flameshot gui --region 100x100x100+100`.

The X11 works as before, unless Qt6 have done something differently. As for multiple-monitor setup, one can use for example `flameshot screen --number 1` to only capture one monitor. This is regardless of X11 or Wayland.

Flameshot is translated to 42 languages, by 105 contributors, and the overall translation rate is 81%.
We will soon approach the first round of bug fixes for version 13, so if you want to contribute to the translations, now it is the best time to have those, so that we have them merged before releasing 13.1.0.

Previously at Flameshot we were using the code bounty platform "Rysolv.com". It seems they have ceased their operations. Now we are looking for alternative platform(s) for code bounty, and any suggestion is very welcome. Just as a recap, we at Flameshot don't accept direct donations, and the only way people can financially contribute is by putting bounty on the issues they like to get resolved. This way any developer in the world would have the incentive to solve the issue, which would also reduce the burden from our devs too. A win-win situation.

We have fixed some issues in the first release candidate of version 13, and we just released the second release candidate for this upcoming stable version. Please test it and give us feedback. The following are the changes:
- Revert accidental removal of window title introduced

We have fully migrated from Qt5 to Qt6 and that is now merged [1] 🎉. Some build systems should still be updated so that we have nightly builds for everything again. After a prototype of a plugin system and some discussions around the design, it was decided that we should revisit the drawing board as there were some aspects that we didn't foresee in the first RFC of the Plugin System.

📸 In recent days we have merged quite a few features and fixes to #Flameshot. Some of highlights are: a more secure pixelation method [1], fixed issues with some fractional scaling in Wayland [2], and confirmation before quitting to avoid loss of work [3].

@npub1avj…jh3v It was nice seeing your Hyperland config and having Flameshot in the mix. The `flameshot-git` AUR is officially supported by us, and it follows the HEAD of the master branch of our git repo. In other words, it is more updated than the one that is shipped in Arch because Arch releases follow the released stable versions. Think of the flameshot-git AUR as rolling release of beta version if you will 😊
