Good morning, fellow weirdos!
October the 3rd marks a national holiday in Germany - we're celebrating reunification. In 1990 the formerly Soviet eastern part joined the western part.

#PSA: a 🇩🇪 German (🇪🇺 metric?) "billion" is a thousand times more than an English/American unit, btw!
German mode - we use periods, instead of commas:
1 Million = 1.000.000, same-ish word, 1 thousand thousand
next order of magnitude, x1.000:
1 "Milliarde" = 1 billion in English = 1.000 x 1 Million = 1.000.000.000 (3 more zeros)
next order of magnitude, x1.000
1 "Billionen" = trillion in English = 1.000 x 1 "Milliarden" = 1.000.000.000.000 (3 more zeros)
THAT'S BIGGER THAN MY MOM! 🤣

For fox' sake!
#Manjaro is shipping the #ZFS module for the NEXT(?) #Linux Kernel version, instead of the CURRENTly installed - are they nuts?
Trying to install zfs-dkms throws a 404.
Well then, let's see if these #BTRFS snapshots wörk as intended. 😅
1st, i'll figure out how exactly i'm supposed to rollback; Timeshift GUI or special magic spells?

5 days later, sober-ish, reviewing my past, i'm still quite comfy with this thread; i'm keeping it!
I'm not a nationalist, i didn't do it!
As a peaceful European, i'd like "my Gouvernment" (DE) to be more critical towards extremism.
Of course, "the Jews" should have their own state - but certainly not on those terms! YOU're NOT supposed to learn from the NAZIS! Assaulting your neighbors is NOT acceptable! Bulldozing Muslims off their inherited land is WRONG!

"We Germans" absolutely deserved, missing out on the #UN #security #Council seat!
Our WW2 history seems to make us blind to the unfathomable despair the former victims of the Nazis, are causing these days.
That orange permanent seat ain't exactly helping, is it?!
If only everyone could be a member of the #EU - our historically grown, sometimes difficult, lovely peaceful cooperation of nations!
WE, will make #StarFleet happen! 🇪🇺🖖
Alas, some dickhead always thinks their balls are bigger! 🤬

2026-06-07 07:42:57 UTC

Y'know what, how about clearing out the wigglers!
Let's make it clear; You are NOT supposed to air-stike hospitals! 🤬
NO MATTER how many "terrorists" you suspect to hunker-in-the-bunker!
Sending in GROUND-TROOPS, see what's ACTUALLY happening, would be a REASONABLE approach!
As a history-aware #German, i think #Israel is a right-wing SHITHOLE, that takes WAY TOO MANY collateral damages into account!
Israel WILL NOT be a member of #StarFleet! 🤬 (on my watch)
LIVE LONG, AND PROSPER! 🖖

DO the snip-snip, become a "woman"!
I don't care - it's YOUR body!
HOW DARE YOUR, demand me to be attracted to you, though?!
I AM attracted to ACTUAL bio-WOMEN!
Males, who did the snip-snip, and a hormone therapy, ARE STILL NOT GENETICAL #woman!
I AM an #Atheist, because i'm fed-up with imaginary BULLSHIT! This type of opposition also applies to this #Gender nonsense!
YOU MUST file your #IDENTITY under the freedom to express your #worldview!
IT's NOT #BIOLOGY or (type 1) #Science!

I'm DRUNK, i sink ships, with my loose lips!
I'm opposing #Feminism, because i perceive THEM as a rather fiercely vocal opposition to my self-image - i'm quite content with being a pale male, in Germany, despite all of the history.
We ARE humans - our biological gender-expression IS BINARY, mostly. IN my not so humble OPINION, NONE of that #gender stuff SHOULD have ANY influence on "psychological conditioning"!
WHY THE FUCK, "AM I THE VILLAIN", because of my #PENIS? That's #misandry! 🤬

Independent multi-port USB-C PD65W power supply 🤩 👉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ig7oZpujHtc
EDIT: was this you, @npub1jsl…93xu, who asked about non-interrupting / non-renegotiating multi-port USB-C PD PSUs, many months ago? This guy from NZ seems to be selling DIY kits. It's the exact topology i've recommended, but as a fancier and easier MVP, with optional stuff and a roadmap to get even better.

Exercising my democratic rights as an 🇪🇺EU citizen has become easier than ever!
I've just clicked through the email template generator, and sent my opinion to 79 of Germany's representatives in 1 email.
Every EU citizen can participate: Go, save your #privacy 👉 https://fightchatcontrol.eu/ (edit: they're currently working on translations beyond English and French)
Thanks, @npub14rv…y6tq! 🖖🥰👍 (and #LouisRossmann, who published his colourfully worded opinion an hour ago)

While cleaning out my migration directory, i've found out that i can delete stuff from within the #Filelight app - via context click menu!
I'm very happy, having finally switched to #KDE / #KDEneon - i've endured the continuing UX downgrades of #Ubuntu #Gnome for far too long!
I can even see the actively developed improvements in KDE; e.g. when i detach a #Firefox tab, from a maximised window and drag it onto another monitor - it's maximised as well, now! 👍

…oh, and WHY the duck do files (horizontal lines) have varying margins/paddings?
It looks really rather incompetent, when "line items" (files) in the #Ubuntu #Gnome file manager have uneven/different vertical margins/paddings (forgive me; i know HTML+CSS, so that's my nomenclature)
In my not so humble opinion, the #Gnome #UX has degraded beyond repair. #SNAFU
You can't even switch tabs, with the mouse scroll wheel, anymore! 🤬

…details, about #Ubuntu #Gnome friggen file manager!
👉 scenario: a dir with less than 50 files, ctrl+a, F2(rename), yoink, success, all good, but ONE FRIGGEN FILE ain't hilighted/marked anymore - WFT?! …gargh, the mind! …it boggles!🤬
👉 another one: for some unfathomable reason, i NEED to click 3 frelling times - no, not 3 double-clicks, 3 friggen slow clicks …in order to highlight an item in the #Ubuntu #Gnome friggen file manager!🤬
Soothing 'splaining, anyone? Bueller, Bueller, Bueller?
WHY?

…i'll have to switch to Windows 11 eventually!
And i can't just use a second SSD, if i want to upgrade to a powerful OCuLink eGPU - PCIe4 x4. (Imma NOT gonya run my eGPU via USB4 - that'd be hard nope!)
I need to figure out a reasonable backup/image-nuke-and-pave strategy.
I've always wanted to try #Kubuntu and #KDE! And since the #Gnome file manager has been an utter dumpster fire for quite a while (for too many #Ubuntu releases) …i am SO fed up, by now!
24.04.1! We're done here! 🤬 🍋

Oof, keeping the most recent #AMD platform driver performance kerfluffle on #Windows in mind, i might not be getting the best perf on my gaming-only dual-boot OS.
I've transplanted it from my long-gone/sold-off 5800X(#Zen3) to a #Zen4 (kinda-mobile) platform - 7840HS, with Radeon 780M (RDNA3 x12).
I'm daily-driving #Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, for non-gaming related workloads - i love this tiny box!
But what if i could get a few more FPS - FSR makes CP2077 a blocky mess, anyway - (re)install Win11?

I think it's "the" replacement for NoScript - it gives me fine grained control over the code that runs in my browser.

#YouTube changed something in their browser client - for a few days now, i only get ~1 minute of #live #stream #video (applies to live VODs too), then sith stalls and breaks!
Yes, of course i'm using #uBlock, as well as #uMatrix, in #Firefox. (edit: and #PiHole)
Which #privacy conscious #Browser can play YT live streams and live VODs? …#Brave? (i run #Ubuntu #Linux, btw 😉 )
