I just got the sad news that our adopted #kakapo, Kumi, has been found dead. This means there are now 243 kakapo left in the wild. The people at Kakapo Recovery are doing important work, and I encourage everyone who can afford it to consider supporting them by adopting a kakapo.

It's the curse of the Gravitons owncast streams. But damn what a hellscape twitch is. Overlays nagging about adblock, constant nagging about payment, popups about cookies and terms of service... And, as @npub1rxc…f74n pointed out, no bonkwave pig emoji. But I suppose, if there was one, we'd have to pay to use it.

The Norwegian GEMA (called TONO) is responsible for distributing money to the music industry (not the artists). I don't know if anything's changed since I looked into it many years ago, but if you self publish, they classify your release as a "demo", and you won't get money from them.
So, in effect, if you rent a venue and play a show with your own music, you must pay a fee, collected by the police(!), which they will distribute to the big labels.
