Ja, die Energiewende ist schuld.
Wir sind nicht schnell genug beim Energiewenden. Wir hätten schneller PV und Wind ausbauen müssen und nicht in einem voreiligen und dummen Unterfangen aus der Atomenergie aussteigen sollen. Zweifelsfrei erzeugt Atomenergie co2-neutral große Mengen Energie uns dient damit als idealen Zwischenschritt bis genug PV, Solar und Speicherkraftwerke gebaut sind.
Wir warten auf keine technische Revolution.
Wir warten auf die Politik.

i mean Transformers ARE being used im medical research and protein folding and last year "AI" got a noble price in chemistry for that.
But yes those machines have nothing in common with the GPT or LLM we know today.
LLM and GPT cannot reason and it will never make a discovery beyond inefficent fuzzing. On the other hand the medical models are a whole different creature

the latter part I mentioned because I don't know how well known the company is outside from sports.
You go to a running store and just like Nike or similar conglomerates it just flies in your face.
They have been pretty top in their field since I remember. The Forerunner GPS watch was over 10 years before apple published their first watch.
When I say "top in their field" I very much mean it as a sports watch. I don't think they try to be a smartwatch

I never wrote own software for my pebble so I guess the proprietary nature is not really a "step down" for me.
I think my bf @npub12g4…t6q6 once tried to write a custom watchface for the Garmin and the Garmin SDK for watchfaces was mentioned to be cumbersome and limited. It's a weird garmin world out there just like Apple Watch has their own weird Apple world I guess.
Garmin is "the" company for sport gps tracking. For example the Garmin Forerunner watch series exists from 2003

oh yeah it's also waterproof, you mentioned swimming.
I regularely wash it unter flowing water and never had any issues.
It has training modes for swimmers but I have never used them (but it's advertised that it's waterproof and usable for swimming).
I have a Garmin fenix from a few years ago. Most other (cheaper) Garmins do a lot the same stuff

i use my watch without internet access.
the watch displays my calendar, current notifications, current calls and stuff like that.
I used it to replace my previous GPS watch I am using it for running and other sports.
I'm using in in a more limited matter because of the internet access I deny it. I don't really know what YOU want from a smart watch but perhaps when you tell me I can look if my device can(t) do that

the goal should be the law becoming more code-like and the cars (over time) getting stricter with the rules.
e. g. as of now it's expected when you put up a 80 km/h sign that people will drive 95 km/h anyway. Making cars obey this more strictly and at the same time getting better rules overall (e. g. depending on reaction speed of a computer and road slipperiness perhaps 50 km/h are appropiate or sometimes 150 km/h dynamically).

Das war 1 Messanger-Nachricht an meine Freunde und es sind drei Toots auf Mastodon.
Es soll öffentlich sein und ich mag #Diskussion.

pretty similar here. Any device that one can fit inside ones home is pretty personal.
Hm I feel like in germany P.C. refers to a desktop computer (other than a laptop or phone or something). People no longer know what PC compatibility is or how the "Clone" started all this hardware compatibility we're now used to.
When I hear my father speak about it it's always very clear that back in the days an Amiga is an Amiga and a Commodore is a Commodore and a PC is a PC.

well technically PC gaming started with the IBM PC because nobody called programmable oscillators or computer kits "PC".
Same reason why iPhone gaming started with the iPhone. Sounds redundant and irrelevant because it is.

further I want to note that most of this is no accident. Destroying the usability of public resources or making useful sites harder to find is a purpose in and of itself for many groups.
Most notably I want to name the "flood the zone with shit" approach which is also a threat to reason and democracy itself. When everything is subjective and everyone is a bot hey maybe I'm not so sure anymore the earth not being flat or corona is serious etc

in the years in which I used the internet so far I developed skills in how to use the internet, which broad categories of websites or search strategies are to be avoided, where to click, what to block in uMatrix, how to leverage third party websites to gain useful information where search engines fail etc.
It would be better if this skill were to be unnecessary. It creates a barrier for everyone including new users (e. g. my parents or kids)

Also acts as a great explaination why so many neurodivergents are introverted or shy.
For me personally I feel like my social battery is drained even when hanging out with the people most close to me and I trust them completely and it's a long and happy partnership or friendship.
I feel like I don't know how to unmask and thus I always drain my battery even when alone with my partner
