Eat food everyday, girl.

They'll promote you, make you the talk of the town, and then have you killed, to keep the supply low, and boost the demand by pushing the scandal of a talented artist who died in their prime, under mysterious circumstances. Making art is dangerous business, especially if it surpasses the state of the art.

Yeah, that's not condescending and superior at all.
Y'all just hung up on "universal love", while that ideal falls so short in the world as to be utterly, ridiculously, cynically, meaningless.
The concept of "everybody love everybody" is hypocritically pushed by those who are most likely to abuse it. People have organic feelings, not mandated by groupthink, not conforming to any ideal someone made up.
Repeat after me - "I DON'T love everybody, and that's OK."

However, you are disregarding the student in a wheelchair.
"Why can't you get up and walk around, boy? Are you lazy? That's really lame! You see, walking is what makes us human. Humans have been walking around since early days. Why can't you? Must be lonely in that wheelchair. I swear, why can't everyone have legs? It's just basic human biology. Anyway, forget you! The rest of the class - where were we? Without walking, we simply ain't human."
Where's the empathy?

As an autistic person, I am deeply critical of this train of thought. Insistence that empathy is mandatory is ableist, imho.
While you may wax poetic about taking long walks, and how wonderful it is to have legs, to stretch them, breathe fresh air, you are silently marginalizing a minority of people who are physically challenged, and can't go walking if they wanted to.
You sound like a schoolmaster exhorting students on a hike, extolling the virtues of exercise.

Why do Accenture Federal Services executives get fat paychecks, waste money meant for veterans, scapegoat and fire teams, cut off the microphone of their team lead when she protests?

A 75 year old lady with a walker walked into the local government clinic where I was in the waiting room. She said she had just broken a tooth and was in a lot of pain. The staff there was extremely rude and dismissive of her, telling her to go away. I was aghast! I intervened in a polite and calm manner and asked them to be nice to her ( maybe get her some pain meds, call her a doctor, help her to her ride etc. ) They called the cops on me.

By analogy, DC folks are so inundated with political events, that they are jaded and don't bat a lid at every damn political event.
Let's not jump to some extreme conclusions —
DC has a majority African American population.
Therefore, any comment critical of DC is racist.
West Palm Beach, Florida has a majority LGBT population.
Therefore, any comment critical of WPB is homophobic.
DC folks can organize and demand DC Senators, if they like.

I used to live in Hollywood, a block from the walk of fame, a block from where the Jimmy Kimmel Show & Academy Awards (Golden Dildo) were shot. There are so many buskers in Hollywood, that if you announced that someone was doing some entertaining stuff (music/magic/comedy/etc) nobody would bother to show up. LA is chock full of wannabes and their spectacles, and over-entertained.
LA is not some bored mid-western village, where the smallest thing will draw a novelty-starved crowd.

Interesting. My idea was simply to make an ad enticing people from FB to Fedi, with a helper web site to help the process, and keep track of the Reunion Registry. It could also munge FB output ( contacts, posts, media, & interconnections ) to formats easily loadable into Fedi. It's a ramp to freedom. The FOSS community, specifically the FB2FediFoundation promotes this. People choose freedom from censorship, algorithms. People choose to bypass billionaires and their castles made of sand.

2025-10-22 15:48:56 UTC

- reply

Is this adversarial? The Debian project uses money, but its software is Free.
The FB2Fedi site would similarly be an invitation to an open community based social media network, that we don't profit from. It's a public service. Adversarial? Or just raising consumer awareness? Who's the adversary?

2025-10-22 15:38:32 UTC

- reply

As a user, if the non-profit advert to migrate to Fedi appeals to you, you can get your data from FB. I have received all my data from FB and deleted the account.
So the FB2Fedi.org website could facilitate all this jumping through hoops ( which incidentally, is the corral fence that keeps sheeple locked into FB ), ask about their interests, find a good instance for them, help them set up an account, & walk them through migrating their data to it, if not automate it.

2025-10-22 15:27:12 UTC

- reply

HOWTO: Break FB's choke-hold, which keeps friends & family locked in.
Advertise on FaceBook, an exodus ramp to the freedom of the Fediverse.
Based on a questionnaire, hook up users with a Fediverse instance. If they skip the questionnaire, choose a random Mastodon instance for them.
Give them the option to join a Reunion Registry.
Take all their data & contacts from FB and migrate it to Fedi.
If they joined the Reunion Registry, reconnect them with all their FB contacts.

In a mantra meditation, you pick a phrase ( in TM, they give you one ) that is meaningful to you. Then you sit and repeat this phrase to yourself, inwardly, loudly, and rhythmically ( once every 15 seconds ). Thoughts, sounds, and other bodily sensations may come and go. Just stay focused on the mantra, and ignore the rest. Make no effort whatsoever.

Citation needed. I can cite 100,000,000 deaths attributable to Xtianity in the last century.
You should be ashamed of being a communist because it's a stupid ideology that replaces the "bad state" with the "good state", which soon goes bad as power corrupts.
You should be ashamed of being an Xtian because that's a mindfuck cult that has killed more people in history than any organizing principle, whatsoever.

Within these small towns, one can travel on electric bikes, trikes, or other kinds of electric vehicles including wheelchairs, just as easily as in a city.
To travel longer distances, one would use a free public transport system ( e.g. electric zeppelins, where you could carry your bikes etc ).
The villages would be Amish-ish, using technology very selectively. Think Asterix's village, with solar power, and Linux robots to do the farm work etc.

I was not proposing a top-down edict to end cities. Just observing that cities are likely to become irrelevant and wither away as center of civilization.
There would be small villages, towns, hamlets, all largely self-contained, with all amenities that you find in cities. Hospital, library, park, post office, stores, community center etc. All close together, and as easy to navigate as a city block. Most work is done remotely.

The two main causes of people missing limbs are cars & wars which are fought for dead dinosaur fuel for cars, which are a transportation medium meant for speed over safety, and super inefficient, with a very low payload( passengers & cargo )/vehicle ratio. Most of the energy a car uses is used to haul itself, at high speed, so heavy armor is necessary.
End cars. End wars. End missing limbs.
Oil things must pass.
End cities.
Bicycles /w bamboo truss frames & solar batteries. 🌻

Thankfully, I have cut down to seeking the approval of just one person — me.

Real life story: My gf was skinny & her sis was zaftig. At their Dad's funeral, the priest giving the sermon, who didn't know the family well, decided to wax poetic:
"As one life ends....", he waved a hand at zaftig sis's potbelly, "...another life begins."
The poor girl was fuming and red in the face, though you never heard people guffaw so hard at a funeral.

The road is best not driven at all.
In fact, forget the road, I don't even like to drive cars.
Every "DUI" begins with a "D" for Driving.
If you don't drive, you don't have to present a UI to some cop, ever.
The main two reasons for people missing limbs are:
cars and wars.
End cars, end wars, end missing limbs, end driving and fuck golf.
Oil things must pass!

If you are so obsessed with a book that you have to cross oceans, take over people's lands, and make them read the book at sword-point, you might be in a death cult:

Wish it were that simple.
If you were Rip van Winkle, who went to sleep in the 1980s and just woke up, would you be able to get a job? Without knowledge of computers, email, word processors, web sites, apps, mobile phones? You'd be obsolete and jobless.
