Some of the biggest protests in US history were against the war on terror and there was no resulting benefit. A lot of the anger wound up electing Trump and now here we are again. Protests don't seem to have any impact, only changing our personal actions and pursuing political vengeance seems to deliver anything resembling change at this moment.

To crack a single key using Shor's algorithm would require about $30k in energy with tens of megawatts continuously needed using estimates extrapolated from today's capacity. It would take 30 minutes to 8 hours with around 2500 logical qubits (estimated requirement to crack a key).
Those 2,500 logical qubits require approximately 13 million physical qubits due to error correction overhead. Current quantum computers only have 100-2,000 physical qubits. We're roughly four orders of magnitude away from this capability.
The most powerful quantum computers today have a bit more than 1000 physical qubits, and about 12 logical qubits. Physical qubits are doubling every 9-12 months.
Major companies project:
IBM: 100,000 physical qubits by 2033; 2,000 qubits by 2029
Google: Fault-tolerant quantum computer by 2029
Quantinuum: Fault-tolerant system with 1,000+ logical qubits by 2030
Fujitsu/RIKEN: 1,000 physical qubits by 2026
So they think we're still a half decade from being two+ orders of magnitude away from BTC being at risk. If it moves quickly we might see this around 2031-2034. A more pessimistic growth ramp puts it closer to 2040. Whoever does it will need to invest a ton of money into the computers and energy needed to crack each individual key. There will only be a few computers in the world able to do this initially and it's unlikely they'd use those resources to crack Bitcoin keys.

She's been claiming that a RE bubble will pop any day now for years. But there's no bubble, there was a significant revaluation of the dollar in the covid era and now EVERYTHING is more expensive. It's getting more expensive with tariffs and will become even more expensive with the rate cuts. RE markets are also regional. The right in general seems to think of teans people as some demonic subclass intent on raping their children and murdering them. I agree with all of this, but we as developers should expect requirements gathering, architecture, planning etc to be increasingly aided by AI to the point that fewer engineers/managers are needed to oversee ambitious projects. We've gone from effectively no AI to PhD-level intelligence (in some respects) in five years or so, and AI is now recursively improving itself faster than humans can do it. We are in for big changes in our day to day and need to be cognizant that our skills today won't be as valuable tomorrow, and will remain in decline for the foreseeable future.

I have reached a point where I feel I have the software infrastructure foundation chops to build out the software core of most businesses at this point. Like a great foundation for any tech company to build on, I have all my own IP from my own infrastructure setup (using lots of industry standard tools), I've started building my own hobby apps, and I can do it well, faster than ever with AI, and have it all be traceable and auto-scaling. At some point AI is going to pump out apps like they're nothing and I have infrastructure that can support generation and deployment to whatever depth I want.

I've never read an article or book that saved me from making mistakes as a manager or a founder. The scenarios I seem to bump into are usually entirely preventable but also very specific. Coming from an engineering IC background (albeit with a marketer's worldview), I have had many shortcomings in managing the procedural aspects of business. I'm less experienced in business modeling, legal, and people operations. I recognized those weaknesses after a startup I had built burned down around me. I've learned a lot about those areas over the last few from many odd mistakes. I am still making mistakes - I made two just this week (that I'm aware of)!
Anyway, Founder Mode misses benefits of Manager Mode, and vice versa. As always, the answer is somewhere in the middle.

now that we have AI, the outpouring of our souls are instantly magnified intellectually, our outputs multiplied at a moment just before the creative capabilities of humanity expand exponentially. our own creative capabilities are multiplied and we will become the social and political rulers of the new digital continent.
we hold the keys to human history in our memories of purely human experience. we will be the last humans to retain any memory of the pre-computer era. we are the first to lead into digital nativism.
