At the start of this year I decided to relocate.
Not as an expat. As an immigrant.
That distinction matters. Most resources for people leaving the U.S. are built around one goal: replicating the American experience somewhere cheaper or sunnier. That's not what I'm trying to do. And finding support for life beyond the supremacy myth has already revealed how few structures exist for someone leaving the U.S. who isn't trying to take the U.S. with them.

And it echoes what Regina Jackson and Saira Rao lay bare in White Women, Get Ready, how white women’s silence, complicity, and selective outrage ensure this violence remains sanctioned and uninterrupted.
And here’s what you refuse to face, every time “good white folx” stay quiet, every time you look away, every time you treat this as someone else’s problem, your silence is violence.
And you are actively participating in the protection and preservation of the myth of white supremacy.

But here’s the thing:
You can be tired and still be responsible.
You can be uncomfortable and still be accountable.
The real fatigue is the one carried by those who have to:
* Swallow professional violence, which many call "microaggressions," just to keep their jobs
* Raise their children in a world that doesn’t see them as innocent
* Watch injustice be debated as “both sides”
White fragility demands relief.
Antiracist practice demands resilience.

There’s a difference between being tired and being fragile.
BIPOC people are tired because the harm is constant.
White people are fragile because the truth is uncomfortable.
Too many “good white folx” confuse their discomfort with oppression.
They confuse feedback with attack.
They confuse exhaustion with entitlement to opt out.

I witnessed firsthand how easy it is for even well-intentioned people to cause harm—often unknowingly. How our actions, words, and decisions, when shaped by unexamined bias and unchecked privilege, can leave lasting scars on those around us. And how far we still have to go in aligning our intentions with our impact.
In that moment, I felt like I’d been knocked back to the starting line in the Game of Life.

I completely agree AND would add that I don’t use the term “African-American” because it’s ROOTED in US supremacy which ignores that there are in fact 3 Americas: North, Central, AND South
The use of this term facilitates the dehumanization of other Black and brown folx
