A refrigerator literally keeps fresh food from spoiling. That’s it’s one job. What does proof of boiling lakes accomplish?

Cope. The idea that “social media engagement” is proportional rather than inversely proportional to time spent productively working requires a level of cognitive dissonance that only the extremely online will possess.

Challenging Raw Egg Nationalist types on data is missing the point. They sun their buttholes because their gut tells them to, not because of some carefully designed chi-square result. Obviously a real man wouldn’t eat fake sugar, so it makes sense that it causes cancer. If you are asking for data then that just means you have a soy physiognomy.

It may be a failure at building a legal regulated weed industry, but here in New York, it’s been a spectacular success at shoving ubiquitous public weed consumption in everyones faces, stinking up the streets with weed, dispensaries/sticker shops on every corner, and small children in the ER from gummies and edibles going from a headline grabbing rarity to routine.

Nope, you can view one tweet at a time with a direct link to the tweet. Without logging in, you can’t see replies, context, threads, or profiles. Still totally useless and borked. Can’t browse or search at all while logged out. Not even the limited browsing that used to be possible before this started.

Seems like you can view an individual tweet with a direct link to it, but won’t see any replies, and you can’t view a profile without logging in either. So still completely useless and unusable with an account (which may yet be rate-limited anyway).
I guess that’s what the journalists meant by “not needing to log in,” you can click on individual tweet links and see the individual tweet. But there is no way to discover any content at all without logging in, or to view feeds or threads.
Nitter, twstalker etc are all still nonfunctional as well.

News is reporting that twitter no longer requires login to view tweets through web, but I’m still getting the login page. What’s with that?

Latency is fine on refresh so no idea what’s going on. I’ll try restarting the client and see if it changes.

I guess https://nostr.watch/relay/relay.poster.place might give hints? Seems like it’s advertising NIP-11 but giving an error fetching it and the latency looks pretty crap. Maybe it’s actually working but Damus is just not a fan of the latency?

I dunno I get the fail icon in Damus after adding it, don’t know how to debug that further. https://nostr.build/i/88d9606a39ca0a87e7a4a06030a70c363cdc41a22fec2d266251b7a9a14357d7.jpg

Yes, this has been in the news, not only that but logged-in users are getting rate-limited of viewing a few hundred tweets daily. Supposedly this is a temporary measure to deal with scrapers. But twitter is basically broken now.

Ahistorical public school bullshit. There have been passports as long as there has been writing. The first US passports were issued during the revolution. Post WWI there were understandably more controls between European borders than immediately before WWI but passports have existed throughout civilization from time immemorial.

Checked out nostr, trolled around a bit, blocked a lot of CCP spammers, deleted my client and account, came back a week later and the spammers are now using a new key for every post every second. Global feed is useless. Relays ignore reports. Broken as designed.
