Memories from One Week Before the War
This photo was taken just one week before the war… days full of laughter and joy, before every moment of safety was stolen from us, and even the birds were gone.
The green parrot, a dear friend to my heart, was a symbol of hope and life… Today it is gone, but hope remains.

We are not asking for much…
Just a safe life, a roof the wind cannot tear away,
and children who sleep without fear or cold.
In Gaza, even the most basic rights have become wishes.
Yet we still hold on to hope,
because surrender means dying twice.
A human voice doesn’t need noise,
it only needs someone willing to listen. 🤍

Tonight, the wind in the northern Gaza Strip reached its peak,
and according to weather reports, its speed reached 103 kilometers per hour.
These were not just numbers in a weather bulletin,
but harsh hours for my family.
Winds tore away what remained of our tents,
leaving us to face fear and cold without shelter.
Another night we write with patience…
and God alone knows how we go on. 💔

War has exhausted me.
It stole our youth, shattered our dreams,
and planted fear in our hearts instead of safety.
My name is Abdul Karim. I am a father of four children.
My children are not asking for the impossible—
only warmth to protect them from the cold,
food to ease their hunger,
and a safe place to sleep without fear.
Despite all this pain,
