Point #3 really hits home. As a lifelong developer of 40+ years(Gawd that dates me) I understand that as a personality type we don't often like to talk about ourselves. We come from a "proof is in my work" I don't have to tell people point of view. However, telling people you what you can do for them is important since it helps you formulate in your own mind what you can offer and is critical to enabling others to help you as well.

Before you get to much of a following, consider mining your own npub. There is a program called rana that allows you to specify a certain number of characters after the npub1. If you wanted for instance npub1uuuuuuu....(7 u's) it would probably take up to 2 days to mine. This is a lot of computer work and someone who wanted to impersonate you would have to put in at least that much work and would likely just move on to a softer target.

In my flurry of NOSTR testing in different browsers and with different npubs I realized that I had 2 different npubs accidentally setup of the same. Same Nip-05, username, display, about, avatar, banner, etc. I had been flipping back and forth and posting and DMing and wondering why some things worked and others didn't.
Once I discovered my root issue, it made me realize how easy it would be to impersonate another user on NOSTR the same way phishing is done by using visibly similar domain names and mining a similar looking npub.
We need a decentralized ID verification(orange/blue/whatever checkmary) so that we can have confidence of who we're interacting with. There are many but I'm gravitating toward...

Anyone else weigh in with an opinion on this?

When I was a kid living near Seattle, I would go to the local arcade and burn my quarters on the kiosks of the day. I finally figured that I better learn how to master one in order to maximize my play-time. My game of choice was Joust. With just a left-right joystick and a flap button, the controls couldn't be simpler. All you needed was to memorize exactly how all your opponents moved. At my prime, I could play for hours on a single quarter. I would literally "wrap" the machine through all it's levels such that it would start over. It was pure and simple domination. I never was able to do that with another game. Years later I would play PC games late into the eve. I make it to the final level of Doom but at the price of nearly falling asleep at my job. I finally got a project programming a game on a now long forgotten console called the 3DO. I spent sooo much time programming that game that it totally burned me out on the idea of ever playing a computer game again. Never picked up a game again seriously, but I remain fond of Joust where it all really began.

I'd say this book is one of the best around for bitcoiners even though it doesn't address bitcoin directly. It's I think many years since it was published so the author didn't have the same BTC community to draw on + can be forgiven.
Still, if you often start books and don't stick with them to the end, you'll find this book rather depressing as it lays out much to expect in daily life when your country's national currency is failing. Without spoiling, if you can stick with it to the end, you'll be left with a different opinion for our future.

I don't think that by default relays don't communicate with each other. This may seem like a bad thing or a good thing depending on your point of view. I'd suggest you look at nostr.wine and get a sense of their methodology. https://nostr-wine.github.io/filter-relay/
