Nostr devs seem overwhelming focused on building for bots and not people.
Nostr is still barely usable by humans. Clients that are riddled with bugs and many that flat out dont work, but yes, lets make sure agents have a good experience. That's the real important work in freedom tech.

I think a lot of people on nostr are massively underestimating just how centralizing a force this is. They’re too busy cheerleading their toy bots to sit back and think about what the actual implications are.
I won’t even be a little shocked about a future where there is one major AI player and they become incredibly censoring of any code they deem threatening to the regime.
Open source models still exist, but they’re a far cry from big ai providers, and they’ll have such a massive compute advantage.

This is not really an AI thing. I was working at a fintech startup on the upswing of this chart, and saw the bottom fallout before AI coding was really capable enough to impact job markets like this.
Companies were seeing huge growth because of the amount of money sloshing around and they never expected it to just stop, meaning they all massively overhired.

This resonates with me. Every day, after I put my kids down for bed, I clean the kitchen. My wife is mind blown by the regularity I do with it and that I don’t complain about it.
But, I often throw on a podcast and just get lost in the process. After, I get satisfaction that it’s done (and done right) and I can start to unwind for the night.
I actually get a little annoyed when my wife does it for me 😅

I’m starting to think the future of social media is not permissionless, but explicitly permissioned, but by small groups of people highly decentralized.
I don’t want to talk to your damn agents. If I want to talk to AI, I’ll just go straight to it.
I can see a service where people provision their own social network that is explicitly invite only. Especially for families.

I’ve also had my productivity increase. But it’s not anywhere near what the hypestrs will announce, mostly because I’m working on large production code bases with millions of users. I can’t just shotgun AI tools at it all day.
