The Megalith channel is still open. I have two Alby Hubs on different PCs that I use to experiment or send sats from Podcast apps. Both Alby Hubs have a channel open to Megalith. Everything on these two Hubs are the same except one moved the sats to savings and the other still has them as my spending balance.

I just noticed the same thing on one of my Alby Hub nodes. My spending balance moved to "Savings Balance" and I have no clue how to move that balance anywhere. I have over 3,500 sats stuck.

I don't know how to host https://getalby.com/.well-known/lnurlp/satsandsounds without a name and file extension.
Are there examples of the value block with the lnaddress in place of the node ID?
Also, is the .well-known portion of the file path just the root directory of my site? For example: satsandsounds.com/lnurlp/satsandsounds/options
Directories with a dot before them are hidden and generally point to other locations on my site.

I'm probably as close to an "average person" with regard to all of this as anyone here.
I'm waiting to see some examples of what I need to do. Keysend was easy because it was just my node ID. I really don't know what lnurl or lnurlp is. I don't know what the options file is. I don't truly understand nostr wallet connect or how it really functions with Alby.
I'm running my own node on a Start9 and I'm running Alby Hub.

I think that's because they worked like a bank. They allowed sats to be spent anywhere. I would lock it down inside each app. If the sats could only be spent in-app or refunded they're not being a bank.
I used to own a restaurant where we issued gift certificates. The money was held essentially in escrow (just a G/L entry) until the cert was used.
I think the concept is the same.

Users can get their unspent sats back as a refund if they want. I know that might be an accounting nightmare for an independent app. But I think conceptually it would be legal in the U.S.

I'm not a CPA or lawyer but have been in several different industries over my life. Maybe this is a dumb question. Why can't an app use its own Alby Hub, create sub accounts, and lock down its use so it can only be used to send sats within the app? Conceptually its no different than a restaurant issuing gift certificates to be redeemed at only that restaurant.

The problem I see, and I haven’t heard today’s board meeting yet, is the podcast apps that use Alby, other than Truefans, requires the user to have their own Alby Hub on their home computer running 24/7 or pay for Alby’s shared node. No normal person will do this. Is it cost prohibitive for other app devs to do what Truefans is doing?
I think people will trust their apps to choose a reliable wallet.

I updated my feed yesterday around 2pm ET but the index has not picked that up yet. I can’t seem to use podping from SF as the site just hangs right now. I tried manually pushing a refresh of the feed but that doesn’t seem to work. I don’t know if somehow it’s a problem of me being in Europe trying to do this all on an iPad behind a VPN or if something else is happening. I'm on Start9. I tried following all the instructions to gain access via the command line using Windows.
I made it to a prompt on the Start9 that said "start9@carried-firewall:" I typed in "lncli lookupinvoice" plus the payment hash string. It returned, "-bash: lncli: command not found"
I'm well out over my skiis on this I think.

The ones on the Boosts tab are not showing on the Streams tab.
I have 11 entries from you via Podcast Guru on Sept. 28 on the Streams tab. If any of those are boosts they didn't show as boosts.
I installed and activated my Alby Hub on my Start9 on Sept. 30th, if that helps at all.

Anyone using Helipad noticing boostagrams not coming through after connecting Alby Hub on your Start9? I know it has to be a small number of people doing this. Just curious.
I had a boost from Podcast Guru show up on my Alby Hub but not Helipad. Other boosts seem to be coming through okay that I can tell. I tested myself using Podcast Guru and didn't have a problem. I'm a bit perplexed.

The Split Kit allows you to import the valueTimeSplits into Sovereign Feeds. It also creates the chapters so you don't have to mess with json.

I've always embraced crappy quality in both audio and video. I'm perfectly happy with mp3s and I don't pay extra for HD streams either. If I can save a buck or two with SD video I'm fine. As long as I can see it and hear it I'm golden.
Maybe it's because I'm old and started out life with a black & white console TV with no remote. Zenith FTW!

Same here. Absolutely no one I know understands it. Granted I'm probably horrible at explaining it too.
I see v4v and streaming payments like I did streaming audio and video back in the late 1990s. I showed some TV network execs I could stream content, using Real Networks tech, from my house to my phone, even back then, and they poo pooed me.
They didn't get it.
30 years from now everything will be v4v.

The way I see it v4v is a necessary step at the beginning. There's no better way to make a trickle of money while a podcaster or musician are starting out. But, once they get to a certain level of quality and/or popularity v4v won't cut it.
There's a reason most products are not v4v. The percentage of people who pay voluntarily is tiny.
No Agenda is an outlier.

I did it through "Connect a Wallet" on the extension's drop down menu. Then clicking on "Connect with Alby". When I do this now I don't get any errors. The screen refreshes and it ads the account I'm already logged into as a second account with (1) appended. So I'll have

I have a second account for sats received from my IPFS node. But I don't pay much attention to it because the extension no longer allows me to be logged into two accounts. Plus, not much comes through that node. After I reinstalled the extension it seems that no longer works.

I'm not sure I see the difference between a mint and custodial lightning.
A mint is a layer that sits on top of lightning, works like lightning, but transactions happen within the mint?
Is a mint is akin to a bank building? When inside you can move money around within the bank for free. But if you need to move it to a different bank or withdraw it (to lightning) you pay a small fee.
Is the vision for hosting companies and apps to be their own mints?

I didn't see how to find ably.com/node from any menu. I went to alby.com/connections (first pic) and also tried it from the "Connect a Wallet" drop down menu in the extension. (2nd pic).
Both those only connected as a separate wallet.

Because it shows up as a separate wallet I can't connect it to any apps. There's no login. I can send from my node to my normal Alby wallet to top up though.

When I connected my node to Alby using NWC it shows up as a separate wallet in Alby. Is that the way it's supposed to work?
