Yeah I don't fault anyone for attempting to contain sneezes and whatnot. I did find it sus that the whole store was masked!
Is a split between Amazon and UPS coming? I didn't hear.

2026-02-06 21:38:44 UTC

They closed local Amazon drop off locations when I am and the site shunted me off to UPS. I went to the store I got kicked out of after masking was lifted in my state for daring not to wear one, GASP. This was in 2021. I bounced out of the store and saw a man physically fighting with a little person (woman) in a weird bondage get up, no joke.
In the year of our Lord 2026 they are ALL still wearing masks in there!! I can't with Seattle

Ok I was thinking about the high profile kidnapping case involving the mother of a morning show host and my second thought was to think that if I was kidnapping an elderly woman I'd make sure she had all her meds and some snacks.
I would be the best and the worst at kidnapping someone

My older daughter, who left home abruptly about ten years ago to live with her dad, called Rube Jr for my number tonight. She called twice while I was at dinner and sent a text. She came by my house out of nowhere a couple of summers ago to ask for some of her abandoned property (long gone). I told her to let me know if she wanted to go out and talk sometime. She told me I ruined her life.
I'm going to sleep on this sudden reappearance and decide how to approach tomorrow.
Sometimes people disappear so for so long you mourn them as if they died. I haven't known her as an adult and it makes me sad that she sets off my alarms. I will go cautiously.

I know! I think it's a little overblown. It reminds me of being in situations as an adult where you see a child who is slightly awkward in a peer group and it just becomes blood in the water. From the outside the pariah child doesn't seem that bad, but the peer group disagrees. I find Madam Markle pretty funny and I hope her kids are well cared for and feel loved. (No shade, I just want that for all kids, especially cuckoo celeb spawn.)

2026-01-04 17:01:23 UTC

People often want to put the blame on simple misogyny or racism, and I can't say there's nothing to that. However, these people are apples and oranges. The women on the list are all perceived to have some moral failing. They continue to thrust themselves into the spotlight and insist we love and consume them in spite of being unlikeable.
Meghan is perceived as a tone deaf try-hard who is simply not very good at anything she's attempted. In spite of this, she continues to beat against the window like a sad moth for our attention. The media (and Meghan's own social media) keep calling attention to her gaffes and mediocrity, fanning the flames.
Diddy, serial rapist and assaulter, has two major advantages in a ranking like this. He was arrested and convicted and is now out of sight, except for resurfacing occasionally to let us know what a soft little princeling he is behind bars. (No one is surprised about this.) Secondly, I thought the Netflix docudrama released about him made a pretty good case that his PR team reached a lot of influencers to declare his innocence and call his victims crazy money-grubbers during the trial phase, scrambling public opinion. Something similar happened during the Depp-Heard trial.
I think the author of this article makes some interesting points, but ultimately it's a miss. The severity of the crime doesn't matter--it's rating dislike.

Also, there is so so SO much more to criticize him about that would be funny. Also Bowen Yang's send off was so OTT that they better have a frickin parade when Keenan retires

This is such a Chestertons Fence sitch. WHY do businesses incentivise women to SHOW UP?? hmmmmm

2025-12-18 20:01:47 UTC

"The case was brought by Alfred Rava, a lawyer who is hailed as the “man of the decade” on Reddit’s MensRights forum. He has filed hundreds of lawsuits challenging gender-based policies and promotions in California, including ladies’ nights at bars, Mother’s Day giveaways at baseball games and women-only networking events. Filed in 2024, his Bumble lawsuit argues that the company “portrays females as perpetual victims needing special emotional and psychological protection”, and that it stereotypes men as “rude, sexually-forward ogres”. Bumble has moved to dismiss the case."
It is a fact that 1. Women need their own events, in the case of career networking and 2. It's established that women may need some kind of incentive to show up to bars, clubs, dating apps. Going all MRA on things could hinder a business's ability to succeed. This is beyond short sighted.
Leave men to their sexbots and sausagefest events I guess 🤷‍♀️

Ok I'm going to lay this on you... My new favorite thing. I got some yarn at Bazaar Girls on the peninsula and she put the wound yarn in terrible bootie things. GAME CHANGER.
The green is called "Now or Never" and I know the purple is Madtosh "Flashdance" but I cannot remember what the orange yarn is.
Someone I know who has a lot of sway over my life saw a sweater I'd made (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/alma-sweater did this in black/bright blue brioche) so now I've been conscripted to make this for Xmas since I know she won't want us to be twins. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/evelin-cardigan

It is hard to find licorice that doesn't have a wheat base! I miss Kookooburra

I think it's great that UK candy is better than here. Seriously the dyes here are terrible.

I got some "healthy" allergy friendly candy without corn and with natural colors and it is...not great. I don't think I'm going to sugar crash and my tongue is not blue, booo

Waiting for this drywaller to leave so I can cut my toenails in my office. (Absolutely no one else is in the building.) This is my version of prefuncing since I will be wearing silly boots tonight
