Bloody pigeons!
Been hearing weird noises in my living room the past few days. My living room is just about where this pigeon has decided to nest. This is a huge archway that leads to garages. This pigeon is not in the most sensible place.

I don't just grow weeds.
Tbh though, I have no idea where the tulips came from. The annual honesty is all over the garden this year because I wasn't well enough to get into the garden much last year and remove it before it went to seed. Ah well, free flowers! This particular honesty is about 4 foot high 😳

Good morning lovely ones.
The weather is a bit ick again right at this moment, although glancing over to the window, the early morning light is making everything glow in a magical way.
I'm back to drinking instant coffee until I get more coffee filters. That huge order of coffee from Grind has me spoiled. Plus side though, I have some amazing lemon drizzle cake for breakfast, shush now, it has lemon in it, its healthy 😉
Todays plans involve moving just enough that people know I'm not dead, trying to get my knees to crunch because they are agony right now, and probably some gaming.

Good morning folks.
I've been up since 5 when Skinny Cat rudely yelled the house down, wanting to be released into the day. Pot of coffee on the go once again, I could get used to drinking Grind house blend. My meandering around Cozy Grove has been successful and calming this morning.
Today is going to be another gentle day but with some pottering the back garden, I really need to get those plants in the ground. It will be a quick job though. I might dash out and do it in a moment or five, with any luck I will miss the rain.
After that, I have some stuff to print out, go through the thread and fabric stuff to see what I have for the Women in Science SAL and see what I need to order. Plenty of time though since it doesn't start until June. Then I'm going to get on with more sashiko, I need a day of calming things.

Storm Dave is due to kick in later today, meant to get a tad windy. For now, all is calm and it looks like a lovely, cold morning.

Good morning folks.
Its been a busy morning here. Up at 5am, straight to getting the freezer defrosted and cleaned. Load of washing on now. Recycling taken out. Even played Cozy Grove already. When I switched my game off, I looked round and this tree caught my eye, the way the light was bouncing off it, how pretty.
Now its time for another coffee while I wait on the washing finishing, might even have some breakfast, or I might just stare out the window and enjoy the way the light is bouncing off of everything.

Forced myself out into the front garden to try and clear the stones so I can get to the soil for planting. Managed to find the join in the weed control fabric that has been down for years, so that will make it easier, in theory.
Shoulder and weather permitting tomorrow, I will get digging, get some compost dug in and then get a couple of plants in.
This is not going to be a quick or easy job. Days like this, I really do miss my fit and healthy body, this whole arthritic, fibro, FND thing is tedious.
The plan is to get some "proper" plants in that will provide some ground cover. Instead of all the weeds and wild flowers that have been gifts from birds (the wild flowers will still have space don't worry).
It will hopefully look neater and stop the arsehole comments from most of the neighbours. I know I shouldn't let the comments get to me, but they do. The garden used to be immaculate, then life and my health got in the way and the garden has been a dump ever since.
I'll get there with it, even if it is just 10 minutes of work at a time.

Good morning lovely ones.
First outdoor coffee of the year has been had, admittedly, I was sitting on the doorstep because I'm too shaky to make it as far as the bench in the garden.
Not much really to say this morning, same shit, different day but at least now I know why I am so wonky, so hurrah for that.
I might do some gentle stitching or I might play some WoW. Who knows what today will bring.

Today has been a day.
A long, good, exhausting, overwhelming day.
Up super early for all the Formula One stuff. No naps.
Obviously, its a Saturday, so that means its day out with Billy. Since I had the hospital at 3pm, we just headed into Dundee. Lots of wandering about, Billy bought some good shit. Pain, exhaustion, weakness, the whole lot hit me by 1pm. Its not so easy to hide it now.
By the time I got to the hospital, it was obvious I was absolutely fucked. Sitting in the waiting room, trying to keep the feeling in my arm, concentrating on the whole steady breathing thing, trying not to let everyone see that I couldn't stop shaking. I hate being in public like that, but hey, perfect timing really.
The neurologist summoned me, introduced himself, really lovely guy. He starts with the hard question and asks my age, I had to think about that way too much. Then he asks about history, I pull out the notes, he asks if can take it and I can see what I remember - next level cruelty, haha. He did praise my notes and level of detail.
Then goes the physical examination, he had already seen me walking and knew how dodgy that was. He starts with the very close up look into my eyes thing, ewwww. All sorts of things, limb movement and all that jazz. Lots of laughter when he got out the hammer for the reflexes and I exclaimed "oh no, your going to hit me with a hammer", at this point he had definitely twigged that I have a warped sense of humour. Then out comes the pin to stab me with, he did seem a bit concerned that I didn't feel him stabbing my right hand and arm at all. Few more checks and he goes "right, put your shoes on, I know whats wrong with you, I'll just get some paperwork sorted out for you".
Mind obviously starts racing, more slow breathing to keep calm.
He starts by saying "I want you to know, this is not caused by anything you have done or that has happened to you, its not your arthritis, your mental health or your fibro". At that point I just burst into tears (for which I apologised, because its me). Clear as day, he states that it is 100% Functional Neurological Disorder (as suspected). Limbs are my biggest issue, so we focus on the functional limb weakness. Lots of talk about brains being like supercomputers, saying they are special (and pointing out that I am not special - talk about bursting my happy delusion 😉) and that my brain is basically having a software malfunction, he doesn't know why this happens. He reminds me that movement disorders and neurology are his speciality (I know, I researched him before the appointment, not that I told him that). We talk more about it, what to do going forward, what to do if things get worse.
Wrapping up the appointment, he tells me that everything we have discussed will be in the letter he sends to me, and to the GP. He points out that people won't believe it, he says he sees it all the time, other professionals not believing it but he emphasises that this is real, his speciality and he will make sure my GP knows this.
He pointed out that I AM NOT GOING MAD! Oh, and he told me to stitch lots when I mentioned that that helps me so much, so it is medically approved for me to be obsessed with cross stitch, hurrah!
I thanked him for believing me, for the diagnosis, for the sense of relief.
I know this was what was suspected, but I truly believed I would be coming out of that appointment with a "we can't find anything wrong with you, off you pop". The sense of relief is strong, the overwhelm is real and I am bloody knackered, but way too hyped to rest just now.
To every single person who has supported me over the last year, as I fought with my body and my brain with all this scary shit going on, I bloody love you. You lot are marvellous!

Good morning folks.
That has been a weird night, I was up for F1 practice at 1.30am, stayed up for the second session at 5am. Decided to go back to bed for a few hours and managed another hour even though I am shattered.
Yesterday I had happy post, the box picture below. Its from Bothy Threads, every now and then, they do a "Sew-cial club" box, not a subscription, anyone can order so long as they are in stock. Its has three bookmark kits, a thumb page holder, a book worm keyring and a tote bag that says "might be books, might be snacks" on it. Obviously it is perfect for me, so I had to buy it.
Today is likely to be a day of gaming and not much else since I'm so tired and am clinging onto this cold. Urgh.

Good morning folks.
Yesterday I went out for a bit with Billy, oh what a mistake. I had mostly been feeling better, but within an hour of being out I was reminded that I'm not any better. Unfortunately, things like shopping need to get done.
When I do the shopping, Billy has coffee. So I'm heading towards the car, holding onto the trolley for dear life. Muscles spasms mean I stop dead and am really fighting to stay upright. I see Billy coming towards me, at the same time an older woman jumps out of her car (that has I assume husband and a disabled family member in it) and she rushes towards me to ask if I need help. I pointed to Billy and said my help was on his way and thanked her kindly. How lovely that she stopped her own family from escaping the supermarket carpark to offer help. How bad must I be looking these days, people asking if I am okay, or offering help is happening more and more often. I do really appreciate the kindness, its good to see that it does still exist. It does fill me with conflicting feelings of....shame, embarrassment, thoughts that I should just stay home. I really hate that my once hidden health problems are becoming more visible by the day and I loathe that I need more and more help. Urgh.
Well, that turned into a deeper rant than I meant it to, but still its a distraction from the global shitshow I guess.
I got up this morning, fed demons, grabbed coffee and meds, settled down at the PC, caught a glimpse of the news and went straight into Cozy Grove, oh how my little chores on there distract and give me a calm start to the day. Now that meds have kicked in, I've done a couple of chores and typed out what is turning into a morning essay, I think its time for more distraction with WoW.
The new expansion in WoW, something isn't hitting quite right for me, but I can't put my finger on it. At the same time though, it is stunningly pretty and the quests are fun, I am bimbling around in my happy little bubble in no rush to reach max level and just enjoying the story. Likely another day of that all day, pausing for food and I suppose I should chat to the child at some point too.
Right, I'm talking too much, so time to go again.

Morning folks,
Just a quick dash through the door today since I have a lot to do. Yes, gaming is my "lots of things", I suppose I should do chores too and go for my meds, urgh.
The fun with the new temp timetable for the buses, there is another road closure in Newport (on Tay) which means the bus is going to have to miss out another part of the route. Oh and according to the bus company and the council, the main road closure starts Monday, according to the signs that SGN have decorated the local area with, the road is closed from today, so its likely going to be a shitshow everywhere.
Right, I'm away to grab another coffee and then dive into WoW for a bit.

Today is Fat Cats gotcha day.
10 years he has ruled the house, the first couple of years he was scared of everything and could be an angry ball of fluff.
Now, he just doesn't care, is sick of everyones shit and just wants left in peace to nap. He can still be a rageball, but he loves his cuddles these days.
12 years old, starting to show his age, but he is the best fat cat and I love him to bits.

Good morning folks.
I've been up for hours, but its taken me this long to be awake enough to type! I'm totally choked up with the cold, so it was a gentle start to the day with lots of tea and covering myself with Olbas Oil. I've even managed some breakfast, hurrah.
Now all that is done, I really need to get these drawers built. That is going to be fun since I have limited space for building. Fat cat is sleeping on the bed, he is going to rage at me building the drawers and disturbing his peace.

I had a fairly decent sleep last night, skinny cat woke me early with the loudest demon like noises.
I've been grumbling about roadworks this morning and hoping the bus company announces soon what will happen for the duration of the roadworks.
I've played Cozy Grove for the day, got a load of laundry on since in all the chaos of the reorganisation, I have almost run out of underwear. I have a few chores I need to get on with asap. First though, its coffee and breakfast time, I'm starving this morning. Oh, and just in case anyone is curious, I am very wobbly this morning after yesterdays chaos.

Good morning lovely ones.
I slept all night, hurrah, no 1.40am sprint to the loo. Did not want to get up this morning, bed was cosy and oh so comfy. Skinny cat was of course screaming the house down, how dare I not get up until 6am.
Today is definitely going to be a slower day but I do still plan to do some things in the major clear out/reorganisation of my bedroom.
First though, its all the coffee and a wee session in Cozy Grove.

Morning folks.
Going to bed early to watch a film was a great idea, ouch ouch ouch, I forgot how sore I get from sitting up in bed. Pain has kept me awake a lot of the night, fun times.
I will absolutely, definitely, for sure, make it to the chemist for the meds today. I need to have some sort of Saturday outing since Billy has abandoned me today in favour of his silly work and flying home from the Isle of Man today. Its going to be weird having a Saturday at home when its not an F1 weekend 😂 I shall be wandering around the house, lost, confused, not knowing what to do, my Saturday caffeine intake will be considerably lower than normal.

I'm at 18 😬 I feel like I've not seen sunshine in a long time, I do eat most of the recommended things for vit D though. Will see if the higher dose supplements help at all, but the low levels do explain why so many of my symptoms have been flaring so much lately.
Have you managed to raise your levels?

I'm on high dose supplement for the next 10 weeks, so will see if that makes any difference. It is the most random result considering I already take supplements. Just another thing to add into the weirdness of my health.

Good morning lovely ones.
Friday yay, time to happy dance or something like that.
Yesterday I was full of the joys, felt "normal"....until I put the bin away and I crashed big time. By the time shopping was delivered at 1, I was barely holding on, putting the shopping away was a struggle the child tried to help and everything got too much. I ended up in bed until 5.
Naturally this meant I was up too late, looking up the name of a church in Quito Ecuador because I had seen it in a video on YouTube and thought the stained glass window would make an awesome cross stitch 😂 The child appeared at midnight and basically sent me to bed 🙄
I got blood test results yesterday, did not expect vitamin D deficiency to be one of the results especially considering I have taken a supplement for the past 10 years. Other results were what I expected, so something to monitor and then speak to the GP about.
Todays plans, forcing myself out into the wilds of north east fife to venture to the pharmacy and pick up the mighty medication that lets me live a little, ha. Stitching obviously. If I have any energy left I am going to do a roast chicken dinner, the child asked for one the other day, so he shall get one. Be interesting to see if I can eat chicken today or if my body will protest.
Right, onwards to more coffee.

Storm Chandra kicks in across the UK. As always, its not meant to be too bad where I am. The wind has been howling since before I went to bed last night, the rain is coming and going. Everything is creaking. Looks like its another day of hunkering down and keeping cosy.
Another day of finding those little bits of magic in the day, noticing the little things and trying to keep my peace. I'm sure another coffee is one of those bits of magic.

I am wiped out already, but the steroid injection is having some effect already, I can move my arm out to the side with ease this morning, still can't quite get the arm above my head. At least my shoulder didn't wake me during the night for a change, woohoo!
I shall soon test the shoulder and get on with some stitching, I'm excited to see how that goes.

The one I had in my hip done absolutely nothing and ended up making the pain worse. I've had the shoulder one before and it was absolute magic, within 24 hours I had a full range of movement back and could exercise it again.

Good morning everyone.
Friday, woo, more importantly its steroid injection day. Unfortunately, I do not want to go because of the stupid weather. The wind has not let up all night, the rain comes in heavy waves. There are still roadworks messing up the buses which means I will need to leave far too early instead of the bus I planned to take. It is not going to be a fun day. I will reward myself later with tasty treats.
Plus side though, I woke up to messages from a friend who is on holiday in Vietnam, the pictures are lovely, so that is a good way to start the day.
Meds have kicked in, second coffee is on the go. Soon be time to throw myself in the shower and then wait for daylight to go clean up the garden, pretty sure the bins have been flying and there is plastic chaos to clean up.

Good morning folks.
Thank you for all the love on my self pity, whinging post last night. I went to bed as soon as I hit send, was sound asleep by 7pm. I asked the child to close my room door once both cats were in the living room, which he did. I woke at 3.50am, and managed to snooze again until 5.
So how am I feeling this morning? The pain in my wrist has settle down, my shoulder is screaming at me (roll on steroid injection next week), my hips are more painful than ever, I feel like I have a brutal cold (that will clear in a few hours), the dizzy from yesterday seems to have fucked off (its still early though). I don't need a doctor to check me over after the fall, I have enough experience to know that nothing is badly injured.
I do want to get out for some fresh air, but I also know that it would be a really stupid idea to go out. Hopefully I will be feeling a lot better by Friday since I have a cinema ticket booked.
Onwards to my usual day, coffee, meds, stitching and generally being cosy in my bubble.
Sorry for the list of grumbling complaints in this toot. The joys of life with a chronic illness, sometimes it is all I have to talk about.

I am definitely not built for your weather, I start melting and getting seriously stressed when the temp gets near 20c 😬I am very lucky that where I am in Scotland, our weather is generally fairly reasonable, yeah we get the cold temps and the rain, but its not usually extreme.
I'm glad the fires are a long way from you, its bloody awful. Fingers crossed for some cooler, settled days.

Good morning folks.
I had a fairly decent sleep in my lovely clean bed with all the pillows. blankets and cats.
Fed the cats, coffee, meds. Stared out the window looking at the pathetic amount of snow we had, found peace in the quiet of the morning, not many people are about at 5am.
I've not been out since Saturday, normally I would be going stir crazy by now, but no. I'm happy just to sit in my bubble, finding the good things in my little world, cherishing my hot drinks, my stitching, the company of the cats and the child. My To Do List gets longer, but it can wait, my calmness is my priority.
So its onwards to the kitchen I go, more coffee and then lets get the stitching set up for the day.

I hope the journey home is uneventful.
I have just done the shower and getting dressed thing, I do not feel any better, this does not bode well for the day.

Morning folks.
Its mild, wet and windy here this morning. I'm supposed to be going to Glasgow today, there is a very good chance that won't be happening with how I am feeling right now. Will see if I feel any better once showered. I will likely decide 10 minutes before I need to leave the house. Normally I would rage at missing the theatre, but its a show I have seen before, so honestly, I just don't care right now. Shows how awful I feel when I am saying that!
Onwards to coffee and praying meds kick in quick so I can shower and then make decisions.

Today I finally made it to the "Thread Memory, Embroidery from Palestine" display at the V & A Dundee.
These are a few of the garments on display. It was rather emotional walking around the exhibition, reading the stories, seeing an outfit that had been on display in a Palestinian museum until Israel decided to bomb it and destroy most of the things displayed there (I did not take a photo of that item, it felt wrong to do so, but perhaps I should return and take a photo of it).
I love the idea of stitching an intentional imperfection into the design to ward off the evil eye, I have seen other cultures mention similar within their stitching.
The following text is taken from the V & A website about the exhibition.
"Explore the history of Palestinian dress and the ancient practice of elaborate hand-embroidery.
Tatreez is an ancient practice of elaborate hand-embroidery, and each region of Palestine has its own distinct and identifiable style making embroidery a language as much as a craft. For centuries, a Palestinian woman’s dress – its cut, colour, textiles, stitches and motifs – reflected her life story. Written into garments are the signs of youth or grief, the marks of motherhood and rural life, as well as the traces of social, political and economic change in Palestine, from the late nineteenth century to the present.
2025 marks 45 years of Dundee’s twin city relationship with Nablus, Palestine and this exhibition takes the opportunity to spotlight Nabulsi dress and tell the story of the historic connection between Scotland and Palestine, through material from Dundee collections and Palestinian archives.
Thread Memory also features contemporary embroidered dress, including newly commissioned looks from Palestinian fashion designers building upon inherited cultural traditions. Work by contemporary artists engaging with tatreez will sit next to the traditional dress on display, alongside interviews with Palestinian embroiderers.
Thread Memory: Embroidery from Palestine is made in partnership with Art Jameel, the Palestinian Museum, V&A South Kensington and V&A Dundee. It is based on an exhibition of the same title that was exhibited at Hayy Jameel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from January to April 2025."
The display is on at V & A Dundee until Spring 2026, it is free to visit and is well worth it. The Scottish Design gallery is worth a wander round. I didn't go to the paid exhibition because it doesn't hugely interest me.

"I'm going to rest and play games today".

Mops floors.
Orders bookcase (arrives Wednesday when the road to the village is open again).
Sorts books from heater so I can put the heating on.
Cleans litter trays.
Cleans bathroom.
Makes soup.
Have played a bit of Powerwash Sim 2 though, so that's okay.

The craft show haul.
I have loved House of Zandra felt animal kits for years, new designs make me happy, its just a shame they don't do full kits anymore.
The Wild Scotland kits are from an amazing company called Vivid Stash. I love this one woman company, the owner is fabulous, it was great to finally meet her.
The Sashiko kits were bought from Susan Briscoe Designs. She has an online shop, but more worryingly, she has just opened a physical shop and its not far from me. This could get dangerous.
Overall, the craft show was not as good as previous years, it felt a lot smaller. I think I prefer the one in Spring which also includes the Scottish Quilting Show.
I still had a fun day and am very happy with my new things. Which I am going to ignore all day because Powerwash Simulator 2 is out and I must play it. Plus, I don't have the capacity to concentrate on stitchy things.

Morning lovely people.
Went to bed at 11.30pm, had to get up at 3.30am to release skinny cat since he was kicking up merry hell and trying to remove the carpet from outside my bedroom door, woke up again at 4.10am and thought I'd try for ten more minutes, then woke at 6.35am. Oops. I am still shattered, and everything hurts.
Today I will be existing, probably napping and not much else. My body is seriously inflamed this morning, halfway through my first coffee and I don't think its a good idea, so looks like today is a day for tea.
Damn, I've got my grumpy pants on this morning, everyone should just be grateful I have any on at all 😂 ha, I can still find some humour, not dead yet then 😝

Its a very late start for me today, I was up at 2.30am in excruciating pain. So a cup of tea, tens machine and painkillers were utilised, then I went back to bed. Only just up again, feck knows for how long though, hopefully long enough to eat something at least!

Finally making a phone call that was supposed to be done last week. Then I planned to do it yesterday but silly adventures to hospital prevented that. Now, I have a third coffee while I listen to the most horrendous quality hold music. I don't know what is worse, the hold music or the roadworks outside.

Well that was a night. The child has done *something* to his foot, so we were up until 12.30 on the phone to NHS out of hours. I'm expected to carry him out of the house today to get him to the minor illness clinic in St Andrews. So once I have had coffee, I need to go and look at his foot, see if he can put weight on it and then figure out what the hell we are doing. I'm absolutely shattered since being up so late knocked my sleep routine.
I wish you all a stress free Monday, I'll be stressing enough for all of us 😉

Another day, another urgh. Coffee and straight into stitching for me today. I cannot cope with seeing the constant onslaught of news (I know, filters, mutes etc). We are not designed to absorb all the bad things all the time. So today I am going to drift along in a stitchy bubble until its time for shopping to be delivered. Coffee and meds first obviously.

Penguin advent SAL ordered and handily found out that Lakeside Needlecraft are doing kits for it, so I have ordered that as well, saves me the hassle of trying to find a fabric that will work with the pattern.
I know I go on about stitching a lot, and most of you know the reasons why.
Here is an example of what stitching means to me.
More and more my health is kicking my ass, I don't even have my 4 good hours in the morning anymore, I'm lucky if I get 1 good hour. Yesterday, I picked up stitching early, just a small piece, I worked on that, done some reading, shared some stuff about it. I felt calm, distracted from the health stuff for a while. I felt.....good. Once I stopped stitching, I noticed the pain, the fatigue, my brain got busy again, all the things swamped me again. I don't get this calm feeling with anything else.
This is why I stitch, this is why I talk about stitching so much, this is why I skip meals so I can afford the stitchy things.
Never underestimate the power of crafts.

This having to get up and feed the cats every morning is unreasonable, its about time they figured it out and stopped being cute, furry freeloaders. I might just be grumpy because I was cosy and comfy in bed. Now I am sore and need more coffee.
Onwards, to the good things and then I might just have enough coffee in me to face the day. I do need to venture into the real world today, I will miss my pyjamas when I leave them 😂

Dawn is breaking and the early birds are starting to sing their song. It is possibly raining a little. I think its time to see if I can manage a walk around the village. It is approximately 1 mile. My hip and leg still hurt from the mad 3 hour spasm it had yesterday. Maybe some exercise will help. Comfy shoes are on, two walking sticks to hand. Lets go.

Good morning lovely ones.
All these years of being alive, all these years of managing chronic illness, you would think I would learn not to do too much. Yesterday turned into a nap day, which meant lying in bed listening to everything outside and not actually sleeping, crap sleep last night too. So this morning, I am just a bouncing bundle of joy that can't wait to overdo it again, just as soon as I have had enough coffee and 12 hours of rest 😉
I have no emergency soup left in the freezer, booooo. I only have 1 cheese scone left, booooo. Looks like I might have to cook properly today, or eat toast instead. Ah well, shit happens.
I am talking more nonsense than usual. Just so you know, I am absolutely fine (mentally, okay, maybe a little unhinged, but thats normal for me). I am making light of how I feel, because its what I do. I will do what I need to do, to get through the day. I know how to do this.
Wow, I might actually be grumpy today.
Also, do you realise how hard it is to type wow like that, when you are used to typing WoW?
Okay, I'm going now, this is talking too much. Maybe I need more coffee, or broken fingers so I can't type so much nonsense.

A short walk and it was a lot cooler than in recent weeks, everything felt muted and peaceful.
Unlike the bright summer mornings, I only met one dog while out walking.
The sun peeking through the trees made me smile, until I walked a bit further and couldn't see anything 😂
Hopefully with the start of Autumn, I will get walking more.

Flowers of Quaker by Karen Kluba/Rosewood Manor is finally finished.
I am not happy with the style of the initial, it does not look like an F, so I might rework that another day.
This pattern was a lot of fun to work on. I stitched it on Taupe 28ct evenweave (the fabric is darker than it appears in my terrible photos). It is stitched with Valdani threads, which come in delightful little balls of thread and for this pattern, you use all three strands of the thread. I love these threads and would stitch with them again.
Now this pattern is folded and in the "to be ironed pile" of finished patterns, there might be around 2 or 3 years of projects sitting in that pile, one day I will be able to afford the frames and then get them on display in the house.
Time to decide on the next pattern.

Good morning lovely ones and happy Friday to you!
That was a better sleep since it was a bit cooler, but it was a disturbed sleep - thanks cats 🙄 Fat cat does have a new morning routine though, he races through to jump on my desk so he can get a cuddle while I put the computer on and grab my glasses before I feed him, it is rather cute.
Todays plans involve shopping, I've pretty much been living on bread for the past week. Obviously the first thing on the to do list today is lots of coffee, meds and perhaps some stitching.

Ever since mum died, I've woken up at the time the nurse woke me to tell me I had to see mum, she was about to die. Its shit, its been 9 years.
Today would have been her birthday.
Got up this morning as usual, leave my bedroom, glance along the hall to the living room, I could swear there was someone walking about the living room.
My eyes playing tricks on me, or the old bat is still kicking around and not giving me peace. Who knows, but maybe just once, it would be nice if she would let me sleep.
I need the rest and some peace.
I'm alright, just sharing random thoughts.

Today has been weird as fuck.
All the things have been pinging.
4 hours sleep, kinda my choice since I stayed up so late. Felt okay this morning, decided to head out (first time out the house since Friday).
Got my coffee and croissant - oh boy, feeling good, glad I took the ibs meds (reason I haven't been taking them is another story).
Popped into the shoe shop, you know when you have worn through the soles of shoes, its time to get new ones. Could not find ones I liked, was trying on a pair on the only free seats, in the young people section when I spotted something I liked.....ooft, £25 cheaper than in the adults section, go on then.
Into the charity shop next door, shorts for the child, a couple of things for me.
Dive to the next bargain store to find they have drastically changed the stock.
Shit, its only 15 minutes until the bus.
Dash to the nearest corner shop, pay a premium, get what I need (and a hug from the lovely man that works in the shop, and another from the local alcoholic male dancer - don't ask).
Stress at the bus stop, THINGS HAVE HAPPENED HERE BEFORE, but for once it was uneventful.....but the bus was late.
Jump on bus, phone call from the scottish benefits folks. Now, as a rule, I don't answer the phone on the bus, I don't hear properly at times, and I don't want to disturb people by talking on the phone. But no, pushed to revealing sensitive stuff on the phone, nearing my max stress levels. Argh. Agree to something just to end the damn call.
Get to bridge over the river, its closed, but only heading into Fife. I see blue lights ahead. Oh shit. Now this bridge is closed often, for "police incidents", not to be insensitive, but otherwise known as people wanting to end their lives. But for some reason, my brain jumped straight to "shit, what if the bridge is collapsing". Not a normal thought for me, but its where my brain went today.
Finally made it home, after getting over the bridge, hitting two lots of roadworks. In a panic if Scottish benefits folks would knock on the door before I was home, knowing the child would breakdown and panic.
Get in the house, shouting and resisting the swearing, frazzled, stressed, done.
Benefits guy appears, I think he realises I am done for the day (this is just before 2pm). Quick visit and he is gone.
I play some WoW, at some point the child turns round and says "mum, are you laughing or crying?", at which point I just don't know.
He puts the bin out for me.
Comes back in, and I say, "mind that stroke like thing, I feel like that again". I see the fear in his face, but I can't respond. He helps me to the kitchen, I know I need food. Thank fuck for a ready meal (it was shite btw), but it helped me feel more human.
A good few hours of pretty much doing nothing, just watching some shite and hopefully sending some love out into the world.
Feeling lots of love and empathy for so many wonderful souls on here, hoping that maybe one day, we can all get the day we need, hoping that by sharing our experiences we can build something wonderful.

(over and out for tonight, I really need to sleep since most of my body is numb, be well my friends).
